We've owned this dishwasher for a few years now. If an appliance has not given me grief during its first few years of life, then I figure it's a winner. This one is. A word of caution, though: It's important to set the water heater to at least 125, otherwise the soap doesn't dissolve properly. We had a water heater replaced, and the installer set it low. Over time, the soap clogged the dishwasher, but that problem is all solved.

This unit is quiet, though certainly not silent. It cleans very well. It's reliable and attractive.

The silverware rack is very large, which is great. It can be hooked to the door or the bottom rack. One drawback, though, is that it likes to fall off.

The racks hold a lot more dishes than our old dishwasher did, and that unit occupied the exact same space. We can even put our biggest kettles in it, but only if there aren't a lot of other dishes. We can't make a habit of this, however. Sometimes a good hand washing is what it takes to get a kettle thoroughly clean....
...

I've had a Whirlpool Quiet Partner II dishwasher for a couple of years now. It is significantly quieter than the previous model I had, though that one was 15 years old. It is not as quiet as they claim but no complaints here. The silverware does not always come out clean. The most aggravating thing is RUST! There is rust on anything metal that comes out. The rust started when is was about a year old. Nothing worse than pulling out your silverware and have to clean them manually to get the rust off of them. Whirlpool has lost sight of their customer. Move on to another manufacturer.
...

Past experience: I've owned Kenmore Elite, Bosch, and most recently a bottom line Maytag that came with the house that I have lived in for the last 9 years. The Kenmore and the Bosch all did well, but were old hat compared to the modestly priced Maytag. The Maytag really did an outstanding job of getting the dishes clean, but it was the loudest dishwasher you can imagine. It finally went Kaput and that is how I ended up writing this review.

I now have the Whirlpool Quiet Partner II. Here's the good and bad:

Good

You can fit a lot of dishes inside on top and bottom

Does a good job cleaning pots/pans/bowls/plates

Much quieter than the old Maytag

Silverware bend does not take up space on the bottom rack

o (Maytag used the front part of the bottom rack)

Can fit large items

o (Could not with Maytag because of silverware placement and water dispenser)

Bad

Spatulas and tongs may prevent the soap dispenser from operating properly

All silverware is seldom clean

Silverware tray catches...

...

Pretty good dishwasher for its price range. Plenty of options for the average household use, middle of the road price, quiet, good job of cleaning the dishes. Does take a bit longer than average to run a load due to the energy saving part, but overall very nice model.
...

I went to consumer reports and this washer was rated a best buy. I just don't get it. The price was good but my old Maytag had much better features and cleaning power. It is quieter than the old Maytag by but the Maytag never pretended to be a quite washer. This washer is not that quiet. Take one look at it and you know why. NO sound insulation, most of the sound comes right out the front door through the steam hole. Its kind of like a Bose speaker system for dishwasher noise. Weak effort for sound control. It also uses a new propriatry walter hook up. HD, LOWS and BestB did not even carry it. Thank God for Sears, $9.00 later I had the hose fitting. Come on Consumer Reports this is a Hype Partner not a Quiet Partner. Should have got the 225 dollar Kitchen Aide at BB. Then saved for a BOSCH.
...

I wish I had read some review before buying this pice of junk! Whirlpool has done well in the past for us, so when we needed a new dishwasher we didn't hesitate to get the Quiet Partner II.

It is quieter than our old Maytag, but that is all I can say positive about it! Dishes often do not come out clean, especially if you put too much in ("too much" means not leaving lots of empty space). Soap is left on the glasses -- fill them up with water and we can see the bubbles floating on top! We have even tried different deteregents. Now we are in the habit of just rinsing out the "clean" glasses before using them.

Racks are basic at best, and do not accomodate any tall cookware (for example, there is no way to fit our pizza pan).

Utinsil basket needs rework -- badly placed (you have to be careful no to put anything too tall in the right side or it will block the soap door from opening). Little slots designed to keep silverware seperate are too small. What is worse, the thing...
...

Whirlpool has decided to make garbage. The Whirlpool Quiet Partner II Dishwasher is a complete joke. You'll do better to just wash your dishes by hand than to use this dog. Dishes, silverware, EVERYTHING comes out filthy and wet. It makes more noise that our old one ever did and they've got the nerve to call it a "Quiet Partner". It takes twice as long to go through a normal cycle than our old one and does half the cleaning, prompting me to ask the question, "What the hell have you been doing in there for the last two hours?". I bought it figuring that the last Whirlpool lasted a good 10 years of daily work, perhaps this one will too. Forget it. Whirpool has decided to make garbage.

...

We purchased this machine 8 years ago when this house was built. We knew next to nothing about dishwashers but since we have an open floor plan, we needed a quiet one.

This was "sort of" quiet when we first got it, but after 8 years, we're looking for a new one. Dishes do not come out great and it makes more noise now than my new clothes washer. We're two adults so it's not like we have tons of dishes to do. We've used dishwasher cleaner and we always use Jetclean and still no luck.

Look around and spend a little extra and really get something better for your buck.
...

This is the dishwasher we had installed here at my office. This dishwasher runs EVERY NIGHT, Mon-Fri. We have 18 employees and usually get it pretty full each day with coffee cups, glasses, lunch plates and leftover containers. I don't know how long it runs because we always set the delay so it runs after-hours. We are just now replacing the racks. It has seen a lot of action since APRIL 2002. Seven years = 1,820 wash loads and now new racks. Though we don't require scouring, nor do we load pots or pans, still pretty good for the money, I'd say.
...

I would not recommend the Whirlpool Quiet Partner 2 dishwasher. We have had trouble with it since the day we got it. It does not clean very well, the dishes have to be rinsed first to come out clean. The dishwasher is unable to handle very dirty/greasy items. Also, the dry cycle is inadequate. The dishes still have to be towel dried when the dry cycle is over. Lastly, the electronic pad breaks frequently. Currently, mine is broken again. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this dishwasher.
...

Purchased this dishwasher not very long ago and it has since broke! It was never very quiet to start with...considering the name, and it never cleaned the dishes very well. Loved the look of the dishwasher, but as far as quality...it leaves much to be desired. Great price but that's about it. Pretty sure the motor went on it and can buy a new washer cheaper...right. I wish we would have researched more about dishwashers before we just bought one, but I had heard good things about them so I thought we would try and of course the salesman said it was a great running machine...ha. I have now through replacing all appliances in my home have determined Maytag is the answer to all problems. The whirlpool Quiet Partner II is definitly a real piece....! Just before it pooped out, it got really loud and noisy, not to say it wasn't before it started giving us trouble, but it got really bad and then quit. Tried to run it through a cycle and it sounded like it was filling and then just...
...
