I recently purchased an apartment that had been renovated and taken over by the bank - it included a suite of Whirlpool Stainless Appliances - 2 months after moving in - ALL three have failed - the Quiet Partner 1 is the worst of them.

First of all - not "Quiet" - how can you call this thing Quiet Partner 1? Wishful thinking I guess.

The detergent door doesn't work - I've resorted to using those pre-pacs that you just toss in.

The circuit board cover has peeled off several times.

The silverware basket laughs at me every time I try to use it. Terrible design.

I would NEVER by a Whirlpool appliance again in this lifetime - I've had two repairs on my range and another burner is out - and the ice dispenser/freezer door is a disaster - I've taken my ice tray out and put it in the closet.

I am a contractor - and these appliances are the worst I've ever seen.

Do not buy this item - Is that clear enough?
...

My dishwasher of 19 years was old and tired of being repaired. I wanted to go with stainless steel to match my thermodor range and I will eventually buy a stainless refrigerator too. I love the Whirlpool Quiet Parnter I........it is very quiet. It doesn't start until the water is hot which my other dishwasher didn't do. I love the utencil tray that is on the door. It has flaps that close so you can put small objects in there without losing them. The tray pulls out so you can carry it to your utencil drawer. The space in this dishwasher is fantastic. I can get all 12 plates in the bottom because there is no utencil bin to take up so much room. My dishes come out completely dry except for the plastic cups, which I hate anyway.

The only thing I don't like is when I rinse my dishes and go to put them in the dishwasher, my hands are wet and the water makes water stains down the front of the dishwasher. But that is the cons of stainless steel.

well i am very happy with my whirlpool quiet partner 1 dishwasher. i can fit almost all of my items in my kitchen into my whirlpool quiet partner 1 dishwasher. it has four cycles to choose from including the sanitize option. it also has 3 options. the only items i cant put in there with all the other dishes is the big pots and baking pans. if i have a small load i can angle them to get them washed in the dish washer. the quiet partner 1 by whirlpool cleans my dishes well. the baked on food is not cleaned though. i wasnt aware that one came with a turbowash option. i would have gotten that one instead. but i am still happy with the size and cleaning it does.
...

I must admit we hastily made this purchase before reviewing any dishwashers. The reason we purchased it -- it matched our other appliances. I trust the Whirlpool name, but I definitely would not buy this model again. It is not quiet, and now after a few years of use, it gets noisier each time we use it.

The worst part is that the racks are not adjustable, so you're stuck with having to put the dishes into it without any regard to space. It's inefficient because of this fact alone.

It's okay for washing dishes, as long as they are not too dirty. Also, it doesn't do a good job drying and I find myself hand drying a lot of our dishes before we can put them away.

This was a big disappointment.
...

We purchased our Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 dishwasher about 5 years ago. It was supposed to run quiet, but we find that we have to turn up the tv in the other room when it is running. It does a fair job at washing dishes, but leaves some items with food on them. This does not happen all of the time, but if we have a bigger load, then I end up putting dishes back in the dishwasher to reclean these items. Another thing that I do not care for is that glasses that come out of the dishwasher are etched, which means that they have a cloudy look to them that does not come off, it is like a permanent stain. This, I believe will not cause any harm, but it does not look nice. I have replaced glasses due to this happening, so I only put the lease expensive glasses in the dishwasher and hand wash my more expensive ones. With the money that we paid for the dishwasher, I would have expected it to be better than it is, by that, I mean, no etching on the glasses and I certainly should not have to rewash...
...

Dishwashers were once perceived as a luxury, but they have slowly become more and more commonplace and many consider a dishwasher a necessary part of any kitchen. I appreciate dishwashers more than ever before and I realize their usefulness not only as a time saving device, but also as an energy saving appliance. After my last dishwasher drew its final breath, I immediately began shopping for a replacement and the appliance I ended up buying is the Whirlpool Quiet Partner Dishwasher, Model DU1055XTS, a medium- priced dishwasher with all the basics plus a little bit more.

Dishwasher Commentary:

Whirlpool Quiet Partner Dishwasher is a four- cycle dishwasher with status lights to let you know which phase of the washing cycle is running at a given moment. Along with the four cycles, there are also several options available to choose from. These include a High Temp Wash, Sani- Rinse, and Heated Dry. The inside of the Whirlpool Quiet Partner Dishwasher has a design typical of most dishwashers...
...

Whirlpool Quiet Partner 1 does not dry. I have loaded the dishes correctly, at an angle. I make sure my rinse agent dispenser is full. Water temperature is 120 degrees. However, dishes are still wet at end of cycle. Glass, utensils, and plastic are all wet. My previous dishwasher was a whirlpool and it would dry so well I had to let the dishes cool before I took them out. This dishwasher does not heat up and the dishes are lukewarm. The dishwasher does not sanitize when the water is not hot. I have had a repairman to come out and check the dishwasher out. No problems were found. However, I continue to have wet dishes.
...

When shopping for a dishwasher, we tried our hardest to find an American made product. Discovered that was almost impossible. This one had components made in the US and Canada, which was acceptable. We have had the dishwasher for six months, it is used at least once per day and I have nothing but good things to say about it. The utensil basket is in the door, which frees up the entire bottom basket for large pots, pans, lids and dishes. I wash all of my plastics in the dishwasher as well and have never had them shrink or melt in this particular dishwasher. I have inserted items with dried, stuck on food and ran the high temperature cycle. I did not really expect it to get the dishes spotless, but was rather surprised at the results. The dishwasher is also as quiet as promised. Before I bought the dishwasher, I read reviews that listed negatives and will agree there are issues that might be considered unfavorable. This dishwasher does take a VERY long time to run through a cycle; I am talking...
...

The Quiet Partner I is not very quiet & the cycles run very long. However it does clean fairly efficiently. There are 4 cycles: "Pots & Pans", "Normal", "Light" and "Rinse Only". You have two heating options: "High-Temp Wash" and "Heated Dry". One helpful tool is the time delay. You have the option to time delay the cycle of your choice by 2, 4 or 6 hours. Another useful tool is the indicator lights for when the machine is "Washing", "Drying" and "Clean". While the Quiet Partner 1 has it's pro's and con's, there are many newer, quieter versions available today....
