fluxmaster says "Great gift for popcorn lovers" about Whirley Pop Popcorn Popper

I bought this for my husband, who is a popcorn freak! I'm not kidding. That man LOVES his popcorn and so I did some research and figured that the old fashioned popcorn maker would beat any of the electric machines. So, I bought him the whirlypop popcorn popper that you use on the stove.

We've had it for years now. And boy! this little thing gets used several times a week.

It really does a fantastic job of leaving very few unpopped kernels. The clever handle and turning device makes it distribute the kernels while you cook and the lid shuts airtight so that there's enough pressure built up inside for the popcorn to pop well without burning.

You just put a tiny bit of oil in with the kernels, turn on the stove and crank!

We actually gave away our air pop popcorn maker and use this to make popcorn (although we still use the microwave popcorn so my husband can have some at work, too -- told you he was a popcorn freak!).

I think it'd be fun for your kids, too, if you have them.
...

The Whirley Pop Popcorn Popper has been around for years and is the greatest invention to popping popcorn the traditional way over the stove. There is a **** on the handle that u turn and it makes this wire inside the pan that spins around and turns the popcorn kernels so they don't burn. It makes the most fluffy popcorn and almost every single kernel pops. When you purchase the Whirley pop, you have different packages you can choose from. For example, you can order the Whirley Pop with different kinds of popcorn kernels or different oil flavors. The Whirley Pop also comes with a different kinds of recipes from sweet and salty to spicy. I recommend the Whirley Pop to everyone I know. I love this product and have bought the Whirley pop for friends as gifts. I have owned my Whirley Pop for over 15 years and have never had to replace it. My family is a big fan of Whirley Pop and it gets used almost daily. This is one of the best products I have ever purchased in my kitchen...
...

kikikatz says "The Whirley Pop makes the best popcorn ever!" about Whirley Pop Popcorn Popper

We originally looked at the Whirley-Pop because we were looking for a way to have popcorn without buying microwave popcorn--there were some stories on the news about people who worked in microwave popcorn factories who got sick from the fumes, and we figured that airpopped or stovetop popcorn would be healthier.

My one concern about the Whirley-Pop at first was that it would take too long compared to the microwave. Guess what, it doesn't. I don't even think it takes as long. One of us puts a tablespoon of oil and a half cup of popcorn into the Whirley-Pop and starts cranking, while the other melts some butter. By the time the butter is melted, the popcorn is practically done--and boy, is it good. There's almost no waste, too--only a few lonely unpopped kernels at the bottom of the bowl.

And have I mentioned how good it is? I would never go back to microwave popcorn, or even airpopped popcorn--the Whirley-Pop is that much better. We'll be getting one for our popcorn-loving niece and nephew...
...

I received a Whirley Pop for Christmas this last year and I absolutley love it! I am a frequent popcorn popper and eating the popcorn popped by this product is way better than any microwaved popcorn I've eaten. I like being able to pop my own popcorn at home with this product, its quick to do and its easy to add your own toppings to, unlike a microwaved popcorn bag. One thing I didnt like about the Whirley Pop is that the piece on the inside that spins around with the crank to keep the kernels from sticking is not very sturdy and it doesnt move the kernels around too much, it kind of just goes over them. I also think that the ventalation on top is not the best. There has been a couple times when I have gone to check the popcorn and have burnt myself on the steam because it did not vent out of the small holes on the lid. I love that there is a warranty that comes with the product and that there was a small mail in rebate with it!
...

the whirley pop popcorn popper is wonderful...it pops fluffy popcorn kernals and leaves very few kernals behind. children will enjoy turning the crank to help the corn pop. if you buy the real movie theater popcorn pre-packaged packs, it's wonderful. the popcorn popper does work with kernals bought from your local grocer and whatever type of oil or butter you want to use to pop your corn but the real movie theater popcorn packets are awesome. it tastes better than theater popcorn cause you can adjust your salt and no burnt kernals! just be sure to take the popper off the eye when it's done popping or the corn will stick and burn to the pan and it's hard to clean! great popper! highly recommended.
...

When I was five, I got a yellow bubble style popcorn maker with the hole on top for melting the butter for Christmas and I've been hooked ever since. After that one broke, I got an air popper that made it through my college days, but never loved the results. I got lazy then with the advent of microwave popcorn, but never loved the results either. Last year, however, we got our first whirley pop old-fashioned style popcorn maker. It is super simple to use on the stove top and results in excellent movie style popcorn when you use coconut oil to pop the corn. Every kind of popcorn pops great in it. From standard store brands to exotic specialy kinds like black and blue corn. Every family movie night now starts with the fun of taking turns spinning the crank, and choosing flavors to sprinkle on top. It is a little bulkier than some, but we run ours through the dishwasher and store it in a top cabinet. We keep our popcorn supplies right in it to save space!
...

I was skeptical to buy a whirly jig popcorn popper because of revies that it was SO wonderful.. And I was like.. "come one" it's only a popcorn popper. BUT.. it is truly amazing.. it is just as much fun to MAKE as it is to EAT. The kids actually fight over who gets to make it. It is extremely easy. It actually tastes like movie theater popcorn. I think it is even healthier than microwave popcorn because there is less fat and grease on the popcorn when it is through popping. You can also adjust the amount of salt and butter that you want to add and make it as healthy as you want. It probly even works out cheaper than microwave popcorn. I'm not really sure about that. It is very easy to clean and can even be put in the dishwasher. We haven't used other seasonings other than butter, but you do have the liberty to be creative and experiment. This is truly worth the hype and i would definately reccomend it.
...

I received a Whirley Pop as a gift several years ago. At first, I was skeptical, I mean, I had a microwave, and what could be easier than sticking a bag of Orville Redenbacher in the nuke? But i gave the Whirley Pop a try and I was very pleased by how absolutely delicious the popcorn was. I had been eating microwave popcorn for so long that I had forgotten how good the "slow" cooked kind was. Not that it takes long to use my WP, it takes about 3 minutes to warm up and 1-2 to cook 1/3 cup of popcorn. Plus it is much healthier, I use just a tiny bit of oil in the bottom and can add salt and butter lightly, unlike the microwave kind which already is drowning in fake stuff. A year ago I had even seen on the news that there is something in the smell of the microwave stuff that is a carcinogen! The Whirley Pop is easy to clean, the top pops off and I just rinse and put away for next time. Great buy!
...

you have never had popcorn until you have it made in a Whirley Popcorn maker. Eating popcorn this way is much healthier than microwavable popcorn. No grease and easy clean up. If you put a little olive oil in the bottom , white popcorn kernels and pop away. when finished sprinkle a little kosher salt. Sit down in front of a movie and enjoy. I can assure you, once you make popcorn this way you will never go back to the microwave again....

We got our Whirly Pop about a year or two ago & both my husband & I like it much better than Microwave popcorn. Yes, it does make more dishes to clean but, it's worth it. The popcorn only takes about 5 minutes to make, not much longer than microwave popcorn. We actually eat more popcorn now for snacking on than we did when we were eating micorwave popcorn. It just tastes much better....
