Had my Westinghouse - TX-42F430S for 6 months...it has a great picture for the money, in the factory settings the blacks could be better, but fiddling with the picture settings has done wonders for that.. Color is excellent, sharpness is good except for analog channels from my cable provider, yet the same channels in 480P digital looked ok so it may be the signal..digital stations all look good..and 1080I looks great in sporting events and nature programs..DVD upconverts look great and best at 720P and Blue Ray looks great in 1080P..

My husband bought this Westinghouse 42" LCD television before we were married and I think he was just looking for a good deal. We have generally had really good experiences with Best Buy, but I think they should re-evaluate stocking any Westinghouse products. A year to the day after buying this tv, it has turned into a monster. Unfortunately, my husband didn't know about websites like viewpoints or consumer reports, so prior to the purchase, we were both totally unaware of the horrible experiences people have had with Westinghouse.

The picture quality is nice (for the most part) but that's only when the tv decides to stay on. It frequently turns off. Sometimes before losing power, it will display large green squares, then it makes a loud popping noise and shuts off. Other times it will lose audio first and then the picutre. We have to unplug it during the day or it will turn itself on and be on all day. Other times it won't turn on at all, not with the remote or the power...

I thought this TV was a good TV for its price if you have a budget and want a decent big screen, make sure you get a warranty just incase ebcause of its great price but I truly love the TV, I think its a GOOD deal! Ive had it for over a year now... with no problems......

We did our homework before buying this television and looked around for months! We have both the 32 and the 47 inch televisions. We love them. The picture quality ANd sound quality are amazing. We are truly happy with them....

With 1080p, you can either use it as a monitor or TV. Actually, I'm writing this review with it as monitor. With the same resolution, the 42" gives me the best value as TV and monitor. Smaller one is not enough for TV, biger one get you tired as a monitor. I had it for more than a year now. Don't use its own speakers much, but I think it's OK for a TV. The PIP function is great when I want to work and follow a football match at the same time ...!!! ...

For the price I suppose I can't complain to much. I guess this is a prime example of you get what you pay for. The picture quality really lacks compared to more expensive models, but for the price it was alright....

This is a good television. I would reccomend it if you have the money to spend. Get the warranty. Movies and television shows look great on the screen . You will be ready for the future and you can fit the tv anywhere you want it to go. it's slim ane thin whicj=h is a big plus. Changes channels kind of slowly like you push the button the wait a few seconds for it to actually change...

I purchased this TV on Black Friday 2006 at a very good price...under $900 dollars. I had no problems understanding the directions or hooking it up. You need an HD box which the cable company provides along with an HD cord to receive the optimal picture quality. I love watching sports, especially, on HD because the clarity is just phenomenal. I also use a DVR as well as the pause, rewind, fast forward features that come with my digital HD cable services and have had absolutely no issues with pictures burning on a screen, even after pausing a picture for over 30 minutes. There are always lemons with any electronic device, but I certainly would not avoid buying another Westinghouse. I am more than satisfied with this product.

Mine is a 32", but none the less it is a very good tv. It stays on most of the time and the cable is turned off and I have had no problems for over a year so far. It has all the plugs that I need. Works great for video games. So easy my 9 year old can hook up his game no problem. Great picture and takes up very little room. Such a big difference from the old tube tv's. What else can I say it is a great tv for the price....

When I first bought this television I thought it was great. However, if you pause your Tivo the image will burn on to the screen within a very short time. At about close to the one year mark there were times that the television would not turn on. At a year and a half we could not get the television to turn on anymore. We called customer support and basically because there was no extended warranty our only hope was to call a service tech at 55.00 an hour and that wasn't a guarantee it could get fixed. We bought a new t.v., not a Westinghouse. This is good because it is cheap. If you barely use it then this might be the right idea for you. I would not play any video games on it, nor would I suggest using this product in conjunction with Tivo....

We had a very bad time with this tv. It was a great price but only lasted for six months and completely died. A service rep. came out and replaced some parts and it lasted for another 6 months and died again. We returned it to the store and got a replacement of the same thing. Once again, it only lasted for 6 months. We returned it to the store and got a new brand. This is really a disposable tv. Might be good for a vacation home that you don't use very much, but not for everyday viewing!...
