tallirish says "walmart bikes are of semi ok quality" about Walmart Bicycles

Walmart has an array of bikes however there not the best quality. If you plan on using a bike from walmart as a primary means of transport your in for rough times. Unless you have the time and money to keep them in good shape I wouldnt buy a bike from walmart. Example mongoose was a good bike company until they let walmart buy them out. Now they are made of parts that when they break you cant fix them easily unless you buy expensive parts and tools, which makes it easier to buy a new bike. If you go to a bike shop and spend a bit more money on a nicer bike thats not ment to fall apart you will be happier in the long run. plus in most cases the bike shop that you buy a bike from will help you fix and maintain your bike unlike walmart whos bike builders are a bunch of crackheads.
...

I bought my first bicicle in november of last year from Walmart. It only costed my roughly around $140 and it was on sale so i ended up paying only about $120. it was a green mountain bike and it works GREAT. i had thought it would be cheap and break fast but to my suprise it didnt ! its a mountain bike with all the gears and stuff. Later on, i found the SAME bicycle for around $200. I was really impressed on how well the bike works and how its not cheap like i expected it to be. Another bike that i had bought there was a little tricycle for my niece. I bought it around January it works perfectly and it even has adjustments so that even when she gets bigger she can adjust it to her size. All in all i think walmart has the best products & cheapest prices. [:
...

oldcamper says "clerk went thru 6 bikes to find one assembled correctly" about Walmart Bicycles

Went with daughter to Sedalia, Mo -Wal-Mart to buy a bike. Associate helped her pick a bike. Looked them over and couldn't turn handlebar to the left.- Brake and Gear cables had been wrapped around post wrong. Therefore- customers had stripped cables and kinked cables looking at bikes. It took 5 bikes of 3 different styles to find one in back installed correctly and not damaged. Look closely before you leave the store.
...

jostanner says "Walmart Bikes are great -but not as comfortable as expensive." about Walmart Bicycles

The bikes at Walmart are just as good as expensive bikes. The difference is in the comfort. Both are durable and will last as long as they are well taken care of. You can purchase comfortable bike seats at a bike dealer. Walmart does not sell them. So if you buy a bike at Walmart - check out your local bike shop for a more comfortable seat....

If you are looking for a great bike...this might or might not be the right place to look for one. I used my bike and went on an over 100 milke bike trip on a canal and it worked perfectly. I suggesst these bikes if you need a cheaper descent bike. They are good and god is good....

Most of them are assembled by someone making minimum wage who doesn't care. Most of them have steal frames vs. lighter aluminum frames. You're lucky to find one that shifts properly if it's a multi-speed bike. One "sales associate" even told me they didn't have an air pressure gauge during assembly. "We just pump up the tires till they feel firm." PLEASE!

If the shift cables stretch, will Wal-Mart readjust them? No. If the bike needs a Spring check up, will Wal-Mart do it? No. If you have any warranty problems, you're only alternatives are an exchange or refund, IF it's within their time limits.

Ever notice that Wal-Mart & similar stores sell after-market bike seats? That's because the seats that come on the bikes are so uncomfortable.

You want a generic steal framed bike...go to Wal-Mart. You want something that is truly a joy to ride...go to a real bicycle shop.
...

Walmart Shopping for Bicycles Any Bike/Bicycle - Just a short and sweet heads up to anyone buying a bike at walmart or anywhere it is good to know thier policy.

Once you bought it it is yours No Exchanges !!! They will fix it for free, but it will take a long time.....Look that bike over really good before you walk threw that checkout...

This is what happened to us;

We took the kids shopping for thier bikes they had some birthday& christmas money and thats what they wanted to get new bikes we looked around and walmart had the bikes they wanted.. We had the store employee pull the bikes down from the rack, The employee notes that to check all the screws and bolts before riding as they put alot together and some may be loose. We did notice the back tire was loose on the one bike but there was no others like it, so we took it no really giving it much of a second glance !! DUMB on our part, the back wheel was not just loose the rim was slightly bent !!

Back to walmart, not even a hour...
...
