Although Wal Mart is a popular shopping place, I would really like to find something better. I live in the country, and Wal Mart is the closest store for me. If there were others I would not ever go to Wal Mart again. Wal Mart touts itself as being a place that helps you "live better" and "save money". All of the products that Wal Mart has are available at other stores. Wal Mart is NOT a great way to save money. In fact I have found products from other stores....dollar stores that are much lower in price than Wal Mart. For example I record many things in notebooks. I found a great notebook at the local dollar store for $2.00. Wal Mart sells the same notebook for $6.00. I bought a laptop computer at Radio Shack for $200.00 less than the same laptop that Wal Mart sells as "save money". I bought a ten pound bag of potatoes at a local grocery store for $2.98. The same product at Wal Mart was $5.98 Real savings from Wal Mart comes from their marked down items. Of course, the location...
...

There are so many videos that bring down big companies. This video surely wont bring wal-mart down at all. Some things in the video are true, some are not, and of course many are over exaggerated!! Yes they pay people over seas so assemble items for their company but what people dont understand is that Walmart is HELPING them too. These people are given a much better opportunity in life for working there.

If you really want to know the truth about this video and Walmart... go to youtube.com and search for "P&T Bullshit Wal-mart". Bullshit is a tv show which looks into all types of things in our lives and does research and finds the truth about alot of things. They made an episode about walmart and full explains the truth of it.
...

twinklefactor says "This movie opened my eyes and changed my prospective of Walmart" about Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price

I couldn't sleep last night and was up late with nothing on the tube. I found Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price OnDemand and decided to watch it. To be honest, I'm half upset I did, as it changed my prospective of the retailer entirely. The movie was extremely interesting and followed the various effects that Walmart has on the local, national, and global economies. It begins with interviews of "mom and pop" shop owners who were snuffed out of their 50-year-old businesses when Walmart rolled into town, and how the chain has affected their livelihood and lives as a whole. It also talks, in depth, with former Walmart employees at various levels on the "food chain." Some of the statistics were eye-opening. Did you know that the benefits package offered to Walmart employees is so poor that Walmart suggests to their employees that they seek government assistance? Some of the topics discussed were unbelievable. It also takes a look at the Walmart factory in China. I can imagine that there......

Wal Marts are popping up everywhere. Because of this ma and pa shops are being forced to close their doors. Family owned business can not longer stay open. Even thought they have some faithful customers it is not enough.

My biggest complaint about wal mart is the rude check out clerks, and the long long long waiting lines. They will have two lanes open, and the lines at the check out or so long, that people have actually pushed there cart aside and walked out.

It is always a good thing to have the wal mart number programed in your cell phone, like I do. So when your sick of waiting in a long line. You can call wal mart and complain how they need to open more check out lanes. Then they will page, all available cashiers to the front for check out please.
...

autumn-jones says "A real eye-opener" about Wal-Mart: The High Cost of Low Price

My husband and I watched this film a couple of days ago and it was a real eye-opener. My husband's grandma works at Wal-Mart, so we always kind of new that they don't treat their employees very well, but we didn't know the extent of their unethical practices. We didn't know, for example, that 80% of crimes that happen at Wal-Mart happen in the parking lot and Wal-Mart knows that if they pay someone to patrol the lot they can bring this crime down to 0%. Yet they won't do it because they won't pay out the money. I did not know that the CEO of Wal-Mart makes $120 Million dollars a year (or maybe it was $27 million or something, just remember it was a ridiculous number in comparison) while the average employee makes $13,000 a year. I didn't know that the company makes $240 Billion dollars a year in profit and yet is not willing to spend some of that money to provide its employees with decent healthcare. I did not know that Wal-Mart actually encourages its employees to apply for government...
...

On some days, I love Wal-Mart, and want to go shopping. However, today, it changed my view on them. I was in there buying a camera for a birthday present. I was given the run-around several times. I was getting very heated and upset. It should not take 2 managers to answer my questions. I was asked to go to Customer Service- where they proceeded to tell me the exact same things the managers did. But nonetheless, I bought the camera and went home. I did not want to deal with it anymore. Also, it was the exact same camera I have been looking for with an excellent price.

However, I will not go back there unless it's something I need- badly!!!
...

On Friday, November 23rd I got a huge bubble on the outside of my tire. I went to the Wal Mart Tire Lube and Express to purchase another tire because that is where we have been buying tires for the last 2 years. They refused to sell me the size tire that was on my truck because the truck specifications called for another size. And I know that you cannot run on 3 tires of one size and 1 tire of another size. I drove the truck home -20miles - and was lucky not to have a MAJOR BLOWOUT!Anyway, I went to the used tire shop in my town and found a new tire - my size for $25.00.

I will NOT Shop at Wal mart for anything ever again
...

I just thought this would give both sides to this story. It was some opinions of disgruntled workers from a place that is one of America's biggest employer. I am employed at Wal-Mart and while some things might be true they have more than stepped up in the last few years and they really need to do a part two to this story. You never see any good movies about Wal-Mart. I hope that people do not watch this story. Some of the things that people talk about like working off the clock is nothing but their own faults. They did not have to do it and if they did they should have reported it. ...

I had heard about this in a speech class at college. Then, a few weeks later we were flipping through the on-demand movies and I saw it listed. We watched it and WOW! I was sick. Wal-mart is supposed to be pro American, but they are far from it when you really go look at their items they are selling.

I can remember when Wal-mart had signs in stores about how many jobs for Americans had been created because of Wal-mart and their shoppers. The signs are gone, the ideals of pro America are gone, and my money will be gone from Wal-mart as well.

I do still shop there for things I can't find at other stores (I live in a small community) BUT I do not buy ANYTHING that has a label that says MADE IN CHINA.

We each have a voice and how, where, and what we spend our money on is how we can each make a difference. If you get a chance to see the movie WATCH IT!
...

Working in the retail business often involves hard physical work, irregular hours, and generally low wages. This type of business often experiences high turnover and individuals generally work here only to get some temporary employment and some quick cash. But for others, the retail world is a fact of life; a daily routine that could very well continue until retirement- if retirement ever comes at all. The largest retailer employer of all and the way it treats its employees and communities is the subject of this documentary. The film is called The High Cost of Low Price, a documentary about the Wal- Mart retail chain.

Contents of This Documentary:

Wal- Mart is a business known for causing upheaval in the communities in which it operates and this documentary cuts right to the chase by focusing on the small town of Middlefield, Ohio where the Hunter family is struggling to keep the family hardware store open when Wal- Mart comes to town. Wal- Mart, with its gigantic capital reserves and ability...
...
