Barbie678 says "My Volkswagen Beetle 2008 Disillusion" about Volkswagen Beetle - 2007

My Volkswagen Beetle 2008 -Disillusion. I thought of having fun driving my new yellow and black convertible bug, but its taking me more to the service shop than to the open road. First, 5 times in service for wiper-malfunction during Florida's hurricane season. Then, resilient to going crazy, the car, not me, my bug freaks out while displaying a show off rendition as the passenger's window slides up when down, down when up, up and down intermittently on its own. Hopefully enough trouble after the last and here I go again, the driver's seat is stuck in a position that rings a bell in my new hunch back position. March 2009, I complaint to the lemon-law, waiting on a reply.

oopcdaisies says "I love my VW Beetle more than almost anything" about Volkswagen Beetle - 2007

I have been in love with VW Beetles ever since I was a child. When I'd play the slug bug game and I saw the Herbie movies, I knew I'd one day own my dream car. Well, I've owned 2 VW Beetles. My first VW was a 1999 Yellow Bug. After an unfortunate accident that sent my bug into car heaven, I purchased a laser blue 2007 model, and it is amazing. The 2007 is superior to the 1999 in several ways. Notably the seats. No longer is cloth an option. You only have leather or "leatherette" which makes cleaning a since. The iPod adaptor is also great. The only drawbacks I have between the 1999 model and the 2007 model are that the blue dashboard only lights up now when you put your headlights on and the heat and air conditioning stop working when the car idles at lights and stop signs. Good for gas, but not for comfort! I recently had a child and have been able to put a carseat into this car. It's not as easy as a 4 door, granted but I WILL make it work because I love my car......

This was my 2nd bug in 2 years. My 1st was an '03, and the whole electrical system malfunctioned. I do enjoy the car - I like watching people punch each other when I drive by, I like that I can get into awkward city parking spots, and I enjoy that despite the seemingly small exterior, there really is plenty of room inside.

I would however, never "buy" one again. My lease ensures that the notorious malfunctions will be corrected while I drive out of the dealership in a loaner.
...

gatorshay11 says "This is a cute, cheap, poorly made car." about Volkswagen Beetle - 2007

This si a great starter car. The beetle was my first car ever. It is so cute and fun to drive. At first, everyone loved my car. But then things started going wrong. It began to break down a lot. The tires went flat numerous times, and each tire costs an average of $250!!! Thats a lot of money for a new driver to fork out. Then the radio died. After that being replaced, the bass of the speaker blew. The headlights are very difficult to replace, and the car barely fits 4 people. There is no trunk space. For the money, I would have went with another car, however, I still love my little beetle. It is cute, though a nussance. I love it because of its style and posh look....

melissall says "Cute, but not practical" about Volkswagen Beetle - 2007

Let me start by saying this is my 3rd VW Beetle. For my graduation in 1997 my father had a 1962 VW beetle fully restored for me. I loved that car. Any true Volkswagen lover (air cooled and water cooled alike) will agree that VW owner's are a special breed. My 2nd beetle was a 1999 Beetle. I loved the car, but it just didn't have enough spunk for my lead foot, so I traded it for an all wheel drive turbo charged mitsubishi eclipse. Along comes my first child. So for a few years I drove a nice little 4 door car, but hey, im still young. So we buy an 06 Toyota 4Runner. I still wanted a "fun car" so I went out (on a whim) and bought an 07 Beetle Convertible in February 2007. I like the car, I don't love the car. My speakers rattle and ive already had to have the window regulator replaced. I have an appointment for my speakers to be replaced. This is not what I expected out of my VW. Don't get me wrong, I still love the brnd but i've been a bit disappointed in this vehicle. ......

I just bought lease my Beetle in May and it is the first major purchase I have made since graduating college. It is fuel efficient, great looking, and super fun to drive. I love being totally girly and still zipping down the highway! It only costs about $34 to fill the tank which is very conventient for a girl on budget, I'd recommend it for anyone just starting out in the working world who wants to save some cash, be comfortable, and look fabulous!...

I got my car on December 28, 2006, after waiting over 2 months for it to arrive after ordering it. What can I say about it? It is a GREAT car!!! Anyone looking to buy a car, please consider Volkswagen. As a person who is pretty much only into American and European cars, with my Beetle, I feel I got more bang for my buck had I bought a similarly priced American car. I get awesome gas mileage and with the price of gas anymore, what more could you ask for? Also, everyone looks when I drive by. The Volkswagen Beetle is an AWESOME car!!...
