A week ago sunday we adopted a one year old cat at the Humane Society. It's very common for cats who spend time in close quarters with other cats to come down with a virus which is especially triggered by stress. Our adorable playful cat within days was inactive and not eating. Along with a high fever the cat became very congested leaving it no sense of smell, unable to eat. The vet suggested a humidifier to help the cats breathing, treating it just like you would a congested child. We purchased a Vicks Humidifier for two main reasons. I totally trust the Vicks brand when it comes to products for colds and the cost was reasonable, and affordable in these tough economic times. I was surprised because there are so many others out there much more expensive and this little humidifier does a great job. I loved it when I was sick but my family has adopted it so I don't get to use it that much. I loved the fact that you can add the vapor oil to the machine to help me breathe better.

I recently moved to the top floor of my apartment complex and found it much dryer than my previous home. I bought the humidifier and followed the directions. I let it run for about two hours and nothing had changed. I moved it to my bedroom, put it on high, and left it for a few more hours. When it was time for bed I walked into my room and the only thing I noticed was the noise....

This humidifier works great. We heat our home using Natural Gas and during the winter the air in our home is extremely dry. I bought this humidifier when my husband was sick and it worked so well we use it every day now and you can really tell a difference. It is easy to fill and the light on the power switch lets you know when it needs to be filled if you aren't close enough to see the water level....

I do like this product, because it does produce the humidity i am looking for in my bedroom (or in the kids' rooms) at night, however, if you are a light sleeper or have a difficult time getting to sleep, you may not want this humidifier as it gurgles and makes too much noise for me to handle. I don't really know if I'd recommend it at all because of the noise....

I bought this when my daughter just couldn't shake the ending of a cold. It worked well on her cough and runny nose, but it did make the room quite warm. I just left her door open a little at night to keep it from getting too warm. In one of the other reviews, there was a complaint of water collecting on the ceiling. I did not notice this when it was in my daughter's room, possibly because I left the door ajar. It has a small area for using essential oils, which I liked. I used a little eucaliptus oil in it for soothing. Just be careful to only use a drop or two, the steam makes it go a long way. I am happy with the humidifier being in our living room, just so the air isn't so dry. Hopefully this will cut down on the colds a little bit. I bought this on sale for $15 I think, and am pleased with the value....

It was not until one of the kids was sick until we purchased this in a midnight-run to the drug store. You know how it is when your child hasn't felt well for hours and it's much later when you realize no one will be sleeping while your child can't breathe.
Vicks is such a well known brand. We've used their cough drops and rubs for years. Imagine the fun of sitting around for over an hour waiting for steam to rise out of this humidifier. A little salt did encourage it, but I cannot give any kudos to this product. For some mad reason we have kept it in our possession for years, perhaps in hope it would someday work.
Don't waste your money on this one!

I thought this humidifier was going to be great for my daughter as her first 12 months of life she got many colds, it seemed to help her breath better and clear up her colds, but one morning when I went in to get her from her room, the ceiling was wet and brown! I thought we had a roof leak and it was from the steam shooting up from the humidifier. Also it gets very hot in the inside that makes me nervous having it in a baby's room....
