megatans says "Verizon wireless is an ok cell phone service provider" about Verizon Wireless Network

Verizon wireless had some good phone plans. There plans have some good features; such as free mobile to mobile & texting to other verizon wireless users. They also have good plans allowing for alot of pkg phone minutes and family share plans. There plans include such features as caller id, basic voicemail service, 3 way calling, texting, picture & video messaging.

However, their service reliability seems to be getting worse. I have had verizon wireless for about 8 years. In the beginning, I had good signal and hardly ever lost a call. The last 3 years that I had verizon wireless service, it seemed that I was always loosing or dropping calls. About 6 - 8 months ago, I switched to Alltel service. It was amazing at the difference between the two providers. I got much better signal with Alltel and can't remember ever losing or dropping a call. Then Verizon and Alltel merged in our area and we are back with Verizon service again. I am noticing that verizon is a little better...
...

The 3G network is available nearly everywhere I go. And I live in northern WI, not the most metropolitan of areas. The data plans are reasonable. You are definitely getting more than what you get with other carriers. I had AT&T and had to go outside to make a phone call nearly everywhere I went.
...

Verizon wireless doesnt have more choices on customer that can save more money or offering something better. The lowest they have is $39.99 which only 450 minutes a month which is not good since you cannot rollover those mintues. I do believe they are taking advantage those opportunity since they are the only one that company available in our area and their connection. You gonna have their service or you don't have at all wireless connection. I wish only they have simpack on their cellphone that you can use it somewhere or give it to anybody if I don't need it anymore. In verizon you play on their rule, not much customer option. Last month I upgraded my phone plan to 900 minutes unfortunately the customer service did not inform me on how they billed it , then when the bill come I was so shock when it shows 79.99 the monthly subscription, which actually when they explain to me they billed in advance the two 59.99 and credit me bac the 39.99 my old plan , so stressing but finally figured...
...

Verizon Wireless has cheap plans that come with a great network. HOWEVER, their customer service is CRAPPY!!!! They mess up your bill every other month and argue with you about the charges! It is hard to leave the network because they have such a wide network and carry cool phones at reasonable prices (the durability of the phones are relatively poor!). If you plan on using this network for your wireless needs make sure you read the fine print! I am in search of a new phone company and will use Viewpoints to select a new network!
...

BigBen4 says "Best Service Ever!" about Verizon Wireless Network

The Verizon Wireless Network is the best network available. I have been with it more than 2 years and the service has been unbelievable! I have never had any kind of problem with the service or phones and support. This company truly is the best 3G company in America. Compared to the other major carriers like Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile, and others, this one stands out on top! I would not ever think of switching carriers. The best parts are, there are no dropped calls, you can get a new phone every 2 years, and they have reasonable prices. An also feature is that they have the best customer service available. The individual and family plans are very cool and cheap with the best phones ever made. Another available feature is that you can pick how long you want your contract to be. Or you can choose the pre-paid option, where all you do is pay as you go. Well, I think I have given you a brief review of the Verizon Wireless Network. So all you out there who haven't joined, join now!!!
...

I have verizon wireless as a carrier. They are a good carrier I rarely have a dropped call. The only con is that they are kinda expensive and your contract has to practically be up to get a new phone.. And since we have a blackberry we have a mandatory 29.99 internet package, we didnt know that till it was too late!
...

inkydew says "Overall, satisfied customer 12 years." about Verizon Wireless Network

Overall, I'd say the Verizon wireless service is the best in many areas of service and improves each year. I first started service with Verizon back in 1997. It was one of a few services offered here. I had tried two other services prior to that and the cell sites were not plentiful. There was on occasion, "dead zones" and I faithfully reported these spots to Verizon. I was persistant in the reports because that encouraged then to add more cell sites quicker. It took almost a year, but they rectified the situation.

I'm not one for upgrading every year, even though (they say) it's free. Of course, I'd have to buy all the accessories for it which can add up. But I'm the type of person that is satisfied with simplicity. I don't need the latest bells and whistles. So when my old model phone "died" (I had several of same model to repiar mine), I called to get it switched over and was told my model didn't have the 911 feature and I needed to upgrade. :(

I have had Verizon Wireless service for ten years. The last year was the most that I have had to call customer service. My wife and family are on a family plan. The only extra I had was the VZ Navigator. With the exception of two months I was being charged for megabyte use. There was sometimes that I hit the wrong button on the phone and went into the web. However I caught that and shut the phone down. I will say that their customer service was great. They issued credit for these megabyte charges. Very little was my fault. I just can not complain about their customer service. The only change that I would like to see is roll over like ATT.
...

jamz says "dropped calls are relatively rare" about Verizon Wireless Network

We switced from alltel to verizon before the merge. The switch was smooth and we love our new sleek phones. There has been no problem with the mechanics of the phones. We do however, occasionally have areas near where we live in which we lose service. You can be traveling down the road talking and actually lose service when you go down in a lower part of the road. This is an occasional occurance, therefore, not much of a hassle. We have enjoyed the plan and being able to call our friends and family who also are on the verizon network. The plan we have is perfect since with the availabilty to call others with the same service and we have not gone over our minutes and had to pay extra. We rely on our phones a lot as we are on the road quiet a bit and both my husband and son use theirs a lot for their work. While there is the small issue of the occasional dropped call the service we receive from verizon is quiet good.
...

angelgbug says "Can you hear me now? Yes."" about Verizon Wireless Network

I have been a loyal Verison Wireless customer for five years now. Like all phone networks there are perks and problems. I'll start with the perks.

The number one perk I have found is the amount of service area they cover. I live out in the middle of nowhere, and five years ago Verison was literally the only network that worked out this far up in the mountains. Today there are several other companies that come out this far, but they still often find dead zones and do not work as well.

The phones they have available are both a plus and problem. Most phones work well, and there is usually something for every person. The bad part is sometimes the cheaper phones are poorly made and you have to return them several times before you find one that works.

The one think I hate most though is the customer service. When you buy the phone everyone is nice and kind, but when you bring a phone in for repair they tend to just blow you off saying it will be a few hours for...
...

mtpelion says "Not for Rural Use... and don't bother with a free Motorola" about Verizon Wireless Network

My first contract with Verizon worked fairly well, just as long as I only used it in town (which shockingly has a huge availability of phones in case of an emergency). When in rural areas (which is most of NE Ohio) you may as well carry a rock as it will work just as well. When asked about the service issues, they always used the "we are checking into ways to boost our signal in your area" line... always made me wonder what signal they were talking about.

Anyway, when I renewed my contract (3 years later) I was supposed to get awesome new phones. Instead I got a bunch of Motorola paperweights. Question to Verizon: "If the phones you give out can only hold a charge for 15 minutes why do you sell such high minute bundles?" Even after several battery replacements (at my own expense) the problem persisted. Several neighbors had the same phone and experienced the exact same issue.

During the next 2 years the monthly charge slowly grew for unknown reasons until it reached a point where I was...
...
