I get scared easily when watching movies yet I love watching scary ones! This one was great because it was not just about the gore and jump-out-at-you scenes, but there was a twist at the end that, in my opinion, separates the cheasy scary movies from the more intelligent ones. The acting overall was not the best, but I would still recommend this movie to those who enjoy a good plot twist....

This movie started out slow, but gradually had my attention through it all and had me on the edge of my seat. Being a horror film fan, I thought this was an ok movie, when it got to all the action, it was good but the ending could of been better. I liked the actors in the movie and would recommend it for any horror film buff. :)...

I really enjoyed this movie. It was nice to see a thriller/suspense movie without actors that have no common sense! You know how you normally get frustrated at the stupid things actors do that get them killed? Watching this couple, you were more like "wow, that's really smart!" It was just a really good movie!

There were a few moments that I had to turn my head. There are a few disturbing scenes.

I put off watching Vacancy for a long time because of its poor reviews. But, I finally managed to get through Hostel and Hostel 2 and being very disappointed with those films despite their positive reputations, I gave Vacancy a shot. I was pleasantly surprised for much of the film.

Not my first choice of performers for this type of role, I still believe that big-name actors cannot do horror effectively because they lose their sincerity, I did believe Wilson and Beckinsale's performances. The idea of a hotel room used to make snuff films with each new guest (s) finding out the room's purpose and still suffering the fate of a brutal death was a new twist in the torture horror subgenre. I did find the people a little pathetic. Especially those in the videos, watching them killed while they basically begged or stood there and let it happen. Talk about not fighting for your life!

Our two new victims/guests also do not fight, but instead run and evade their attackers until a final...

This was the WORST scary movie I have ever seen in my life!!!! Where exactly were the too scary parts? I need to revisit obviously! The lines were corny, the actors were okay, but where where was the suspense, the horror ! Somebody must have switched movies from what I saw and what the other reviewers were judging!THE GREAT PLOT does not exist in this film

Bought this just before Halloween this year and the timing was perfect. This is a classic thriller with all the heart stopping surprises.

I love those lost in the middle of nowhere and the only place to go is a wretched farmhouse or a "Bates Motel" complete with its own version of Norman...

The creepy motel clerk is immediately identified as someone you can't trust. As the film develops you will be truly on the edge of your seat if you enjoy this type of film. A must see for Hitchcock fans.

I liked the movie and the plot. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the film. I could do without a bit of the graphics (not big on blood and gore) though. Really made me think twice about where I stay when I am out of town. I have stayed in some pretty scary motels before, don't think I'll do that again! The biggest downfall to the movie was at the end. I was really disappointed where they left things. ...

I was absolutely disappointed by this movie. I am a big fan of Luke Wilson and think that Kate Beckinsale is drop-dead gorgeous. But this movie is just boring. The subplot about their marriage was too contrived and convenient of a plot point. It was just there to help elevate the story to a higher plane, but it didn't work. It would have made a fun 15-minute short film. But even though it is a short film as is, it just never really goes anywhere or provides any real scares. I was rooting for them to die....

This movie did not have enough meat in the plot. I was bored and thought it stunk. Sorry. Not my idea of a good movie. Not enough details in story. Dumb ending too.I didn't care for it at all although it could have been better if they had gone into more detail. I did not feel connected with the characters and didn't even care if the bad guys got them or not....

Vacancy is the scariest movie I've seen in some time - perhaps ever. And if you plan on staying in a roadside motel anytime soon, I would steer clear of this terrifying movie.

Vacancy is the story of a couple - played nicely by Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson - in the last phases of their relationship. After some car trouble, they decide the only thing to do is to check into a dumpy roadside motel. Soon after entering their Honeymoon suite, Luke Wilson's character finds snuff tapes - and even more horrifying, they all have been shot in their room. The rest of the film is a fast-paced cat-and-mouse game with a killer ending. Frank Whaley is dynamite as the bad guy.

Vacancy is stylishly subtle and very well-paced. I didn't have a problem with its run time of less than an hour and half - as a matter of fact, I thought that made the move even more terrifying (nothing worse than a long drawn-out horror/thriller flick).

I had been hearing bad reviews on Vacancy and it made me a little upset. Kate Beckinsale and Luke Wilson in a horror thriller movie, how can it be bad? I tackled my suspicions and saw the movie. I laughed a few times during the beginning but as the movie progressed, I was on the edge of my seat.

Plot: When a young couple's car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, they are forced to walk back to the car garage they saw on the way. They find out the garage is closed but is located conveniently next to a grungy motel. After renting a room for the night, they settle in and put a video on that was just lying on top of the VCR. What they see is a snuff film recorded in the very room they are in. They must find a way to escape before they become the stars of the next snuff film.

I won't lie. I had my suspicions about how good Luke Wilson would be in this type of movie. I dismissed Kate Beckinsale because I knew she was gonna be good, she's a fantastic actress. I'm pleasantly surprised though, at......
