This film kept me interested in the story all the way through. The political under tones and innuendo were quite humorous. They were not at all hard to find, in fact some points were repeated over and over, but most puns (visual and verbal) were cleverly interspersed....

vivasuzi says "Hmmmm.... I'm not sure about this one!" about V For Vendetta

So this movie has high acclaim, many high ratings, my friends are raving about it, and is even in imdb as the top 250 movies of all times... yet... I'm still not so sure about this!

Plot
This movie is placed in Great Britain during a time of oppression. Evey stays out past curfew and almost gets caught. A man in a mask, who calls himself V, comes along to save her. He takes her to see the best performance she will ever see, which turns out to be a fireworks and musical bombing of a statue in Britain. V is out for vengeance, the reason will be explained as the film progresses. He talks as if he is out to relieve the society of the oppression it has been put under, but at the same time he is killing people and causing mass chaos. Is he out to do good? or evil? and how does Evey fall into all of this? I guess you will have to see!

Actors
There are only 2 that really matter.

V (Hugo Weaving) - V speaks in poetry, music and loves art and plays. But although he's into all that sappy stuff, he's...
...

gamera23 says "A bit too heavy for its own good." about V For Vendetta

When Alan Moore and David Lloyd’s UK comics series V for Vendetta was released in the USA on DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint, I was of course duly impressed, as I have been with every piece of Moore’s work that I’ve read. Moore has publicly denounced this film adaptation – or at least disowned it – and I can see his point, as the film departs from his story at many junctures, and none of these departures is for the better. However, we’re here to discuss the film itself, not compare it to the source, and as a entity unto itself it has a lot to offer. For one thing, its daring masked dark hero is a terrorist. It also dares to be a sci-fi action epic with a political message, and it retains the graphic novel’s British location when there might well have been pressure by Warner Bros. to change it to something more generically All-American.

The setting is a totalitarian British Empire of the near future which bears no slight resemblance to George Orwell’s 1984 - a connection reinforced......
