Didn't actually go here, but I worked for the University of Missouri for two years in a laboratory environment. Many of my friends went here, however, and it's a great school, they just didn't have the degree I was looking for (marine biology). Moved away, but loved the Mizzou atmosphere! GO TIGERS!...

University of Missouri is an amazing university. I am in the J-School masters program and I have received a good education. The program maybe tough, but your given all the tools to succeed. Each class is designed to help you write your thesis or do your project.

Another amazing thing is I am able to pay for my education through assistantships from the J-School and other Schools. I get a monthly stipend and a tuition waiver every semester.

What more can an international student ask for.
...

I loved the University of Missouri-Columbia for several reasons. First, my family members all went to that school, so the family pride interested me. I also wanted to become a part of the sorority system and it is really great at Mizzou. Mizzou also granted me a full-ride singing scholarship and a scholarship called "Chancellor's Leadership Class." Because of my grades, I was allowed to deduct 20 percent off of my tuition each semester. I wanted to major in journalism, and, at the time, Mizzou was ranked the number 1 school of journalism in the country. I received first-hand experience as a television news anchor because the school owns an NBC station (not a college campus station) and student's have to audition for anchor positions.

When I graduated and decided to go to law school, I had already been accepted into many other law schools. On the day of my graduation, I was accepted into Mizzou's school of law. I would not have...
...

I went to Mizzou for 4 years, and loved every second. I first declared a Psychology major, and changed 7 times in 5 semesters. One great thing about Mizzou is that it is easy to change majors and very easy to earn minors.

This campus is incredibly diverse, mostly due to the Journalism school. It is very easy to get involved and to feel like a part of the community. Just about every organization and social group is represented at Mizzou. In addition, about 25% of the campus is Greek.

The class sizes for gen. ed. courses can get big (200-400), but once you have started your "major" classes, the class sizes drop to between 15-30. A definate plus is that most of the professors and TA's are interested in student success. They are almost always happy to help in any way possible.

New dorms were built in 2004, 2006, and some are currently under construction. In addition, a brand new dining center was added in 2004. Mizzou is really actively trying to make life better (and...
...

Erobertson says "The best decision I ever made" about University of Missouri-Columbia

When considering which college to attend, I had definite opinions about what I wanted out of my college experience. I did not want to stay in my hometown, yet I didn't want to go out of state. I was going to pay my own way in college, so tuition also played a big part in my decision. I wanted a large school nestled in a small town atmosphere. I wanted a school that had a good, solid reputation for quality education. I wanted to be exposed to all different types of people. I wanted to be presented with cultural oppurtunities. I wanted to be able to have a good time on the weekends. When I finally decided on Mizzou that summer after senior year and attended Summer Welcome, I was still a little nervous about my decision, but after I met actual students and saw the pride in their eyes and the excitment in their voices when they spoke of their school, I knew it was meant to be!! Mizzou is this and so much more!! I would recommend this school to anyone!
...
