In July 2009, the University of Illinois launched a salary freeze for administrators, faculty and other academic professionals without considering how much a person earns in a year, or whether the salary is from the university or external funding or grants. More than 65 administratives in the University of Illinois each make $200,000 to more than $450,000 annually. Since they make big sum of money in a year, the freezing doesn't hurt them at all. The president of the University at Urbana makes $450,000 annually.

Those individuals earn more than $15 million annually, or 2.5 percent of the salary budget for the University’s employees.

I say: "Men, stop equalization when doing bad, and stop discrimination or classification when making profits!"

I attended the University of Illinois several years ago, and I would not have exchanged that experience for any other college or univerity for anything. I had other choices, but I wanted to major in chemical engineering. You might not know that U of I is one of the top universities in engineering in the world. I received a stellar education and promptly got a job with an oil company. The University of Illinois is well-known for many other things--it competes well in many sports, for example--but scholarship is at the top of the list. I had football season tickets while I was there, always great fun even during down years, and the basketball team is a positive. The fans are incredible, and the college spirit is palpable.But my education was the best. I studies with chemistry professors who wrote the textbooks used by most colleges and universities. Same with other subjects. Few people also know that the founding of the internet had its roots at U of I in its groundbreaking...

This college is very nice. I hope I went there but not the current one. This school is quite and in a very low cost area. I like it. The school staff is very nice. Some deparment in this school is very good like computer science or microbiology. In all words, it is a very nice university....

The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign is an awesome school. After the first semester was over, I thought of this University as my home away from home. This is where I have made some very good decisions, as well as, very poor decisions but have learned from them all. This University has a lot to offer. There are a lot of school affiliated clubs, varsity sports, social events, and the academics are challenging yes, but still manageable. Going to this university has opened my eyes to a whole new world beyond that of the suburbs....

My boyfriend will be starting here this fall for his MD/PhD program! I am so proud of him. He will be doing cancer research, and working on a PhD in molecular biology. U of I is such a great school. Apparently U of I at Urbana-Champange has a great physics program too. I'm definitely considering it for grad school....

Wonderful university that is in a good location. Good size. The surrounding city is large enough to support whatever you may need - grocery stores, strip malls, enclosed malls, movie theatres, restaurants, and well kept parks. Nice area (minus the farm smell on the South side of campus) with very little crime. The campus is kept up really nice with lots of trees and other types of flora and fauna. Great Atmospheric Sciences program to boot! Going on to pursue my PhD from ths department because I like it so much! Came to UIUC from a small university and like ths one a lot!...

I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana, starting after I graduated high school in 1973 and graduating in 1977. I was looking for a school where I could major in some sort of business discipline and also where I could pursue my musical interests.

My parents made it clear to me that I would have to fund my own education as I was the most likely of the 6 children, of which I was the oldest, to graduate in 4 years of college. So, of course I was looking for a good price and a good time as well as a good education.

I had previously been on campus for a couple of summer music programs and I really liked it. I didn't mind that it was a very large school. Plus, I had plenty of high school friends going there.

I got in to business comfortably as I was in the upper quarter of my high school class. Since then, the standards for the business school ahve risen to the upper 5%.

The school at the time was the top undergraduate accountancy program in the country and it still is near the top. The...

This school is great. I did my undergraduate degree here in the engineering program. My dept is 5th in the country and is totally worth going to central Illinois to go there. My education here helped get me into MIT for Graduate school!

The social life is great! Especailly if you are into Frats or Sororities. The UI has the most frats and sororties of any university at last count. I never thought I would enter a sorority, but I found a great one!

The campus is beautiful, the sports are great, and academics are outstanding. Go here!

Going to this college was the best decision I've made. There is something for every type of person at this school. School spirit is high and it is great to be part of a school with great traditions. I was a member of the marching band and a concert band. Their music program is top notch. There is a place for everyone at every level. On campus there is always plenty to do. The students are creative and become great leaders. The school stresses excellence in every area. Attending this school provided me with wonderful memories and a strong foundation for my future!...
