The United Airlines Mileage Plus Visa Credit Card is a great way to accumulate miles. the card works like any other visa but when you open it you get 30,000 miles. this is enough for a free round trip ticket to any where in the continental us. This is a great value. It really gives you a good head start is you are trying to save miles up to go someplace that take a large amount of miles. I have saved enough miles to go all the way to Australia and it is only going to cost a booking fee and taxes. This is a savings of about $1,000.00. This one draw back of this progrem is that there are not always mileage seats available so you have to be somewhat flexible with your travel plans. If you chose a place that united flys to (and not one of their affiliates) it is much easier to get the flight you desire. the miles accumulate fast if you use your credit card for everything you purchase.
...

The United Mileage Plus Credit Card is great if you most frequently fly on United. I have never had a problem redeeming my miles for a trip but I'm always flexible with my dates. The only downside is that they charge a $60 annual fee that they never waive (you can also pay the fee with 7500 miles). I definitely recommend using this card if you are a traveler. If you don't travel very often, I think some of the other cash-back credit cards might be more practical. The United frequent flyer program also has a dining program and an online mall so you can earn extra miles there as well as with your credit card.
...

Was a loyal cardholder for many years - over $40,000 per year in spending on the card. I was late for ONE payment after years - called them on my own when I discovered the error, even wire transferred the payment instantly - they still stuck me with over $200 in finance charges which they would not re-consider. Finally, they agreed to reduce them by half of one of the 2 finance charges. They did not seem to understand that they were losing a loyal and high volume customer, so I canceled the card....

This is the card meant for saving your flight fare...it's good that when you buy 250 $ of stuffs with this CC you get 21000 miles...you have loads of miles accumulated in your mileage plus account but you do not have a single flight available what you could probably book...and your miles are there only for a year...so after a year you just waste your miles..I would not reccomend.
...

It is definitely faster to get miles by actually flying, but we've already enjoyed one trip to visit family in Alaska. We pay our bills online, which is a huge help because we don't like to pay interest, ever. We also like the checks they send for zero percent financing (with a small fee). We used that to get some remodeling done. Also, they upped our limits by a lot when we asked!
...

I have had this card for 9 years. It's okay. I like that I can earn miles by making regular purchases. The other ways to earn miles don't do much for me. Information about redemption options on the website is hard to find. You'll find it if you're persistent but why should we have to work so hard.

There are better alternatives out there in terms of interest rate, award levels, annual fees and blackout dates. As I said, it's okay and I've had it long enough to look good on a credit report but if I were starting out, I might look elsewhere for a better deal.
...

The standard $1 for 1 Mileage Plus mile used to be at the head of the credit card reward value leaders' pack. With the advent of more rewards programs, I find different economies in the credit card rewards world. If we look at 25,000 miles for a single $500 ticket, we see rewards at 2%. For international economy travel to Asia $1500 = 60,000 miles or 2.5%. The immediate comparison is the Chase Freedom card which offers a 3% cash back. Hence, there are better cards on the purely economic basis.

So, does that mean immediate rejection? Not entirely. Using the reward miles earned to bump up one's premier status level one grade can make a world of difference for the more frequent flyer.

For a long time I have preferred hotel rewards as my credit card incentive, since the hotel was often more expensive than airfare. When airline fares stabilize -- after oil prices stabilize, then these calculations will need to be done again to determine are the economics worth it.

For the point...
...

I love the United American Airlines Credit card. The credit card is good for everything.
If you don't carry cash, you can charge and some of what you charge may be eligible
for points towards a free ticket.
Every time you use that card, you are eligible for something. If you should get to a point
where you do not understand something. Just call customer service and they will be glad
to assist you. You will not go wrong if you choose this card.

I just got back from another enjoyable "Spring break" in California which afforded me a lot of great bonding time with my cousin and her husband and also a chance to see a variety of interesting things including the old mission compound of San Gabriel's, the Huntington House and Gardens in San Marino, some great mountain trails, beautiful scenery, etc.

Last year I flew First Class with United Airlines and I must admit that it was a First Class experience but this year I decided to give Economy Refundable a try, not without a certain amount of apprehension. It wasn't bad at all though ... plenty of leg room and attention from United's wonderful flight attendants. I found that I preferred the Snack Box selections ($5 each) offered to that of a big dinner which comes with First Class. Best of all was the price I paid for my trip: $2.50 from Chicago to Los Angeles and $2.50 back.

Yes, you read that right -- two and a half dollars -- or five dollars for the entire round trip. ...
...
