But what I do not understand is why they must be so very expensive. I mean really like 200$ for a pair of boots, when you can get a pair of knock-offs for much, much, much cheaper, and also just as cute and comfortable. I am the type of person that would wear slippers to school, just because I want to stay the most very comfortable I can. But, I wouldn't even want to wear something i spent over 100$ dollars on. I find it almost a little extreme on the amount of money people will spend on Uggs, just because they are a name brand. I am not also just about comfort but also I am a penny pincher, and want comfort in the cheapest way possible. I just think that Uggs, are above average when it comes to money, but when it comes to them overall, they are just average even though they are a name brand that everyone loves. They can also get very hot and sweaty, and smelly after sometime.</p>... Uggs can be worn with or without socks, depending on how much warmth you need. The sheepskin lining forms right to your foot making them the most comfortable boot/slipper you will ever own! Tip: order smaller than normal size because they stretch out a little after a few days. The shortie length is perfect to block the cold from your calves and shins under pants and look great with jeans/pants tucked in them too. The only downside to these Ugg boots is the outside suede material easily gets damaged by water from snow or rain, even if treated with a waterproofing spray.... I had Thinsulate from every name-brand, battery-heated socks, moon boots (remember those?) my sons worsted wool, heavy-duty socks (blech....itched all the time), sheep-skin liners.....you name it, I had tried it.</p><p>I went to BJ's one day and there they were. Of course, they were a lot cheaper then but still pricey. Cold weather was approaching fast and I dreaded another frost-bitten winter. When I first put my feet into them (they recommend "no socks") I was hooked. No matter that they were and are not exactly a fashion statement, having my feet encased in the soft, furriness of the sheep-skin was divine. The packaging said that not only could you wear them without socks but that you could wear them in milder temps and not feel all hot and sweaty in them. Because I had tried so many...</p>... Ugg makes a water repellent, but I found it did not do the job.  They will stain if they get wet, and they will smell.</p><p>When I first tried them on I immediately knew they were for me.  The next morning it was 3 degrees out when I went to work and my feet were, finally, warm!  I wore them all winter.</p><p>The next winter I again wore them almost everyday.  I wore them until they finally bit the dust and couldn't be worn again.  So, I gave them...</p>...
