This isn't a business that's out to take advantage of you or your money. Yes, they are still a financial institution, but the treatment that I have received here is superior to every other place I've done business with. I have banking, home and auto insurance with USAA and am happy with all their products and services even after having to file a few claims; something's got to be said for that. My only complaint is that transfers between my account here and other institutions don't process as quickly as I'd like them to on the receiving end, but that isn't anything USAA can do anything about I don't think.

In the past several years, USAA has continuously pushed lobbyists to get substantial insurance premium increases. They also aggressively pursue "preferred providers" that do not have the consumer's best interest in mind. These rationales of 2 parties in cahoots together does not serve the public trust. Speak with your mortgage lenders before securing property insurance as they are knowledgeable about what you should be paying and their interest in your property is to see that damages and unfortunate situations are well taken care of. That is not something USAA or their contracted preferred providers want you to know.

I became a member of USAA when my ex-husband was in the Army. Their rates, I have found, are cheaper than the leading competitors. The service is 5 star and they go above and beyond to make sure you are taken care of and completely satisfied! That is why I have been a member for 10 years now....

These folks are a great institution for anyone in the military. I have had an account with them for nearly 8 years now and I don't think I have ever had an issue with them that wasn't easily solved by a simple phone call. They have insured the last 3 cars that I have had and I have yet to find a better rate for the coverage that I need. I now bank through them and this service is great as well. The best part about working with USAA is that they cater directly to the military and they understand the problems that we can run into and have services and programs that work for us. Prior to my two different deployments I called them to ensure that all of my insurance was up to par and they not only checked over it all but informed me that since I would be parking my car during my deployment that I could actually get my car insurance reduced during that time. When I returned from my deployment all I had to do was call them and they returned my insurance to it's previous state and also connected......

We love the availability of USAA finance and insurnace. We utilize almost every feature they offer, savings, retirement, school savings, and vaious insurnace. They allow easy transfers from your home bank to USAA bank, have a decent return on investments, and allow the peace of mind with various insurnace options (home, auto, life). We are very pleased with USAA.

We had a home claim for our front porch roof & back patio roof in January 2008. The USAA rep came right out, was very polite & knowledgable, cut us a check and then left us high & dry to find our own repair person/company. I made several calls back to our rep and got no response. The 2 repair people she did refer to us never returned our calls either. We had to hire a small repair company on our own to fix the problems.

After a long dry spell and then alot of rain, the front porch roof started leaking again. The back patio roof was still fine...at least for now.

Basically my main gripe with USAA is, we were forced to find the repair company/persons on our own, and they were sub-standard. I didn't file another claim this time - we've already done the repairs ourselves.

Another USAA issue:

I started out with Geico as my auto insurance provider, then went with AIG because I saved a lot of money on my premium. I decided to get a quote from USAA since I was a member. I could not believe how much I would be saving! I would be paying fifty dollars less...a month!!! I changed companies immediately. I have been exteremly happy with USAA Banking and Insurance and would never consider changing. Their website makes making changes really easy. Everything is there and it shows you what the changes would mean in coverage as well as price. They have their contact information all over the website so it makes it easy to get a hold of them when you need to. You can also print your insurance coverage cards right off the website so you never have to worry about not having the proper card in your vehicle! They offer more than auto insurance too. They have life, home, and many other choices. They have lots of perks for using their other products so it works out best for...

We have USAA for home insurance as well as car insurance. We use to love this company but there rates have increased many times in the last few years. There home insurance has the highest rate in our town. They forget to tell you that insurance will increase if you have a big car, until 6 months after you purchase the car. We've had trouble getting them to pay to fix our car when someone hit our car in park and the person that hit us also had USAA. Who's back do they have?...

Excellent customer service. Never had a claim take more than a few days to process. Reasonable fees and quick returns as there is profit sharing....
