      <description>&lt;p&gt;When I first started flying US Airways in &amp;amp; out of DCA in the mid 2000's, it was a pretty basic airline.&#160; Not that bad.&#160; Since they merged with America West, god help them.&#160; Let me count the ways of how this airline sucks:&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;1. Totally uncomfortable - they make it impossible for any coach passenger over 5'10&quot; to NOT walk away with knee injuries.&#160; Since they cram the planes full on almost all the flights, good luck getting an empty middle, a bulkhead, or exit row to stretch out in.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;2. CHEAP - They charge you for bags, blankets, food, and even tried to charge you for soft drinks.&#160; They did away with ANY in-flight entertainment so I hope you brought a laptop small enough to open in the cramped space between your lap and the passenger reclining in front of you.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;3. RUDE - Could they find a more disgruntled group of flight attendants and ground crew?&#160; They know how ridiculous their job of being a mobile waitress is and obviously take it out on the paying customer.&#160; Not to mention the fact...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Us Airways is the worst airline I have ever encountered! Recently, my husband and I had to make a trip out to Seattle. Upon arriving at the airport to check baggage to Seattle, we come to find out that they are charging $25 per bag, after we had to run our credit card twice, and after being told they do not accept cash at bag check. We sucked it up, went to Seattle and had a great time with family. When it was time to go home, we decided instead of having to run our credit card twice per bag, we would check both bags under my husbands name. This time it came out to $60....but this isn't even the half of it. We board the plane and fly to Phoenix, only to be met with a 40 minute delay of having to sit on this stuffy plane while our illustrious Vice President (and I use this term loosely) was visiting. Due to his visit, they were not allowing any planes in or out of Sky Harbor until Biden took off in Air Force 2. As we wait, the pilot continues to tell us not to worry, that no one is leaving...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Ok, let's start saying that I travel every weekend... from Tampa to wherever work takes me. That's pretty stressful itself plus having to deal with rude people at the airport or over the phone!? No way! These days I am in NC so I am stuck with USAir... what a NIGHTMARE! I usually don't care about the FF miles because I am always looking for good deals and not the airline that much but when the service is so bad I have to think twice and sometimes don't care the extra bucks.&#160; What's with USAirways?? Now you can't even call customer services because these people that aren't even in US territory can't help you! You can't even understand what they are saying and they can't understand you or your needs either. I had to put one of my tickets on hold 2weeks ago and this lady charged $100 to my credit card but that's not the worst part, that worst is that when I called them to ask them about this charge they told me that they couldn't see anything on the system and that it was very strange because...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Cannot believe this airline is still in business. I did my fair share of flying and I understand that things happen that are just out of anyones control. I actually never wrote a review about an airline although I experienced delays, poor customer service, lost baggage etc because sometimes, things just happened and it is no ones fault really. But U.S. Airways is a sorry excuse for an airline. Going to Miami (for a weekend trip- meaning only two days), I booked my flight for 6am landing by 12pm so that I can get a full day at the beach. They boarded us on time and actually made us sit in the plane for 2 hrs because they were experiencing delays. I'm not complaining about the delays, I'm complaining about the fact that they actually made us sit there for two hours, fully aware that majority of people had connecting flights to catch. They made no attempts to find us another flight, no attempt to let us know that we would be sitting there for two hours so that we could make alternative plans....&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;&#160; I had a great experience flying with US Airways.&#160; I was flying solo for the first time so of course I was alittle nervous especially when it came to finding my assigned seat.&#160; When it was time for me to get on the aircraft I found my seat but someone was already sitting in it. I double checked my boarding pass and it was the right seat number.&#160; The gal sitting in my seat did not really respond to me when I asked her if she had the right seat number.&#160; So I went and talked to one of the gals working on the aircraft and she told me to go to the back of the plane and she will figure it all out for me.&#160; About 5 min. later she came back and apoligized left and right.&#160; The gal in my seat was in the wrong seat but the flight attendant asked if I would'nt mind sitting in another seat which was fine.&#160; She then handed me a large bottle of water and thanked me for being patient.&#160;&#160; About 10 min. later everyone finally found their seats and she&#160;walked up&#160;with me to show me the other seat...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;MDT to SAT June 2009:&#160; HORRIBLE Airline.&#160; Late takeoff, nearly missed my connection and then when I arrived in SAT my luggage was lost and THEY HAD NO IDEA WHERE IT WENT.&#160; Then by 10pm that night (I arrived at Noon) the luggage arrived, totally broken suitcase, ALL MY FAMILY GIFTS DESTROYED incl new presents for my baby niece and my presents for my frail and elderly mother.&#160; Called their Customer relations, filled out their forms for damages, then even had to speak to a rep on 2 occasions.&#160; Got a letter saying they weren't going to pay for any damages. Filed an rebuttla, just got another latter today saying they won't reimburse me for damages.&lt;br/&gt;US AIRWAYS SUCKS. DO NOT fly this airline.&#160; Spend your money on anyone else because US Airways is a group of useless bastards and I sincerely hope they go out of business because they are a disgrace to the profession.&#160;&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I am legally blind and have a boyfriend who lives away from my home town. The only way I can see him is by flying. I was really scared the first time I flew, but the staff at US Airways was absolutely great. They made sure I got to the right gate, helped me find my seat and even made sure that I got to the right plane when having to change plans. I have done a lot of flying since that first time and they are always so friendly and courteous. They are always there to help. I would never think of flying any other airlines. Thank you US Airways, you are all wonderful and now flying is such a joy.&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;I have to say this is the worst airline ever and I fly all the time. I always fly with Delta or Northwest(my favorite) but once I could not get a flight out of orlando so I chose US Airways they were not my first choice but hey what can you do. I was going to&#160;Binghamton, NY via PHI and there were trouble on all the legs of this trip. From MCO to PHI our flight was thirty minutes late getting in and 45 minutes late leaving.The plane was a A320 and the cabin was small and dirty it felt very gloomy inside, The seats were not comfortable at all and there was almost no leg room for the seats. The crew was no better they were rude and short with you they were not professional at all. From PHI to Binghamton we had a gate change that was on the whole other side of the airport and then our flight was a full hour late leaving. The plane was a CRJ200 (50 seats)&#160;of course&#160;the plane was small it is a short flight but it was still a dirty cabin with trash on the floor and crumbs in the seat. The crew...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

      <description>&lt;p&gt;Let me start off by saying our flight was only a 20 minute flight from Phoenix to Tucson on a US Airways flight.&#160; Doesn't sound as bad as doing a 2 hour drive.&#160; Our flight was supposed to leave Phoenix at 136 pm.&#160; Approximately 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave- when we were supposed to be boarding- is when the flight crew began&#160; doing the checks- keep in mind this plane had just come from Tucson- the boarding agent came over the intercome and stated that there was something wrong with the plane, while they did not know what exactly is wrong with it maintenance was working on it.&#160; As time went on they found our flight another plane and announced a gate change that was only one gate down from where we were already.&#160; We were about to board and the flight crew boarded to begin their preflight checklist yet again.&#160; The boarding agent came on again stating that there was a leak- not sure what kind of leak or how bad it was keep in mind this is yet another flight that had landed...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

I would have thougt that in order to win over a new customer to US Airways some sense of &quot;service&quot; would be shown to make their trip more pleasant- but I guess I must be naive. This airline&#160;is like being in a &quot;Goulag&quot;- nobody smiles, there is in a couple of cases a feeling of open hostility, and I've never such a sense of being raped by a&#160;customer service staff as I had with US Airways.&lt;/p&gt;&amp;#13;
&lt;p&gt;It starts at check in, where you are charged for checking in &lt;strong&gt;one&lt;/strong&gt; bag- heaven help you if you have more- it cost me an additional $40. Once at my destination I found out that my work required me to return one day early, and I had the distinct pleasure of seeing just how far their idea of &quot;service&quot; ran! There was a $150 change fee (o.k., I can deal with that one, but most other airlines would waive that), then there was the &quot;difference of value&quot; cost increase, and multiple stop cost increase, and so on.... The price they quoted was &lt;em&gt;higher&lt;/em&gt; than just booking a new reservation on another competiter by...&lt;/p&gt;... </description>

Called 2 weeks before my wedding to inform me they were canceling my flight, but should be happy to know that they would gladly refund the cost of the flight. Oh Thanks!&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Flight 2. Sat on a commuter jet-short flight for three hours before taking off (ON THE PLANE)&lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;Flight 3. Had to cancel a flight for an emergency, which they happily did and notified me that the funds would be good toward my next flight. The flight was $109, the change fee $150! But, I should be happy that my funds are available? &lt;br/&gt;&lt;br/&gt;It is SO much easier and better with southwest. I have flown with them at least 20 times now, NEVER a problem. no change fee, no canceled flight, usually on time, USAIR? all kinds of problems.&lt;/p&gt;... </description>
