kid-kansas says "The Recipe for Customer Service!" about UPS Stores

Although I seldom need to ship anything it is nice to know that I can get it done by a caring and knowledgeable staff. From boxes to foam peanuts they have it all right there. The one occasion that stands out for me was when my son graduated high school this past summer.

The Service

My son had made a bookshelf and a cd rack in school and wanted to ship them to his mother on the east coast. He was moving there and could not take them with him on the train without it costing an arm and a leg. So we ventured out to our local UPS Store.

Specialty paper, easy shipping & stamps
One stop does it all at the neighborhood UPS store. Wherever you live, this handy stop provides more goods and services than you would imagine. You can drop off U.S. mail, buy stamps, ship things via the USPS, ship things via UPS, send faxes, receive faxes, buy computer paper and more.

During the holidays (or birthday season) this store is a really convenience. I just popped in and bought Christmas paper for my computer without driving to a big-box store. They sold me 30 sheets, no problem. I also bought stamps while I was there, and threw a couple of pieces of mail in their box (some stores have late-day mail pick-up; check times at your local store).

I work at home a lot, so instead of having a separate fax line, I just rely on the UPS store when I want to fax something. It gets me out of the house for a few minutes and the service costs next to nothing - far less than a dedicated fax line. (For those of you who don't know...
...
