Fri, 23 Oct 2009 21:45:18 GMT http://www.viewpoints.com/Two-and-a-Half-Men-review-d2bc billie2t 5 http://www.viewpoints.com/Two-and-a-Half-Men-review-5490 <p>One of the funniest sitcoms around in a long time is two and a half men starring Charlie Sheen who plays an insatiable playboy who lives with his brother and nephew (or should I say his brother and nephew live with him).  He is independently wealthy and a conformed womanizing bachelor which conflicts with his brother who is a very down to earth doctor.  The show certains around Charlies flamboyant lifestyle and entertaining women.  The humor in the show is so unique it can often be even crude at times.  Each episode is entertaining if you haven't seen it it is available in the series on DVD.  The new season September 2009 has Charlie finally settling down to get married.  We'll see what happens with that as well.  He is definitely not known for being faithful in one relationship so this is a turn for the plot that we will see whether it was a good choice for the viewers.  Maybe we prefer Charlie the way he was.  That's what made the show.</p>... It's the BEST show out there. Tonight we finished the Fourth Season of Two and a Half Men. We had hoped to be caught up for the release of Two and a Half Men, Season 6, due out September 1. <br/><br/>This show is witty. It walks a fine line on crude and humorous. It's the ONLY show that makes me gafaw outloud! The characters are pathetic, all of them, and yet enduring and wanting you to be an integral part of their life.<br/><br/>Let's face it, you already knew it, I LOVE Charlie Harper. This is the role Charlie Sheen was destined to do. It's what he spent the 80s and 90s in rehearsal for: drunk, lazy, a womanizer, gambling. I look so forward to Monday nights when the newer episodes come on.  I rarely ever miss it.  And if time allows, I usually watch the old re-runs every night from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  No matter how many times I've seen a particular episode, I'm always laughing!  The writers for this show are geniuses!  Each and every character plays so well off the others.  It's perfect harmony and perfectly hilarious.  If you've never seen this show, you have to watch it. I guarantee you'll be in stitches.  From Berta's dry humor and calling Alan "zippy", to Charlie's drunken antics with all the women he's had in his bed.  Alan plays the perfect "loser" and it's been so fun watching Jake grow up.  It's so funny to see how he has grown and changed over the years.  Of course we can't forget about Evelyn, Alan and Charlie's mom, or Rose, Charlie's stalker.  Love them all!</p> <p> </p>... There's Charlie, the jingle songs and kids book writer, who's got it pretty well off, beach house in Malibu. His hobbies are sleeping with any woman he can and drinking.He is quite the ladies man. He is also into gambling. There's Alan, Charlie's brother, who's divorced and was kicked out of his house and came to live with Charlie, ( temporily) till he could get a place of his own.......but he's been there for years. He is a chiopractor, and he's the total opposite of Charlie, gullable, goofey, non-hip.There's their Mom, which they hate, because they say she neglected them as kids. The housekeeper, who has her way of butting in without drawing alot of attention. And last but not least, there's Jake, a young teenage boy, who will eat anything, in hugh amounts, and always has something cockey to say.</p>... Jones.  The similarities between Charlie/ Alan and Oscar/ Felix  is striking. The era is different but the clashes are very similar. While the is no Murray "the cop", there is Berta, the housekeeper, there's Mom, and of course <em>the kid!!!</em></p>&#13; <p>The wit and sarcasm in the show is clear and well proportioned. It interwines and weaves itself within the sometimes weak/thin story lines. But this wit is what makes the show so funny. The fact that the story lines are sometimes shallow doesn't mean that the cleverness involved in injecting the funny stuff should be overlooked. After all wasn't Felix and Oscar doing the same things in their daily plights as well???  The chemistry shared by Jack and Tony is, to me the same chemistry of Charlie and Jon.</p>&#13; <p>The kid is getting older now and maybe the show can be 2 3/4 men !! But I'm sure they will figure out a way to keep that angle clever as well. He has great timing and delivery of his lines...</p>... Jones acts totally clueless as to what is going on in the world, just like a normal teenager.  Evelyn Harper played by Holland Taylor is the worst mom ever, and it shows in Charlie and Alan but it makes the show hilarious with her witty and degrading remarks.  Berta Charlies made is priceless, she is funny, witty and a real street girl who doesn't take any crap.  But she doesn't miss a trick either, she is right there in the middle of everything, never letting anything get past her.  If you want to laugh you definately should watch this show.</p>...
