I used to hear about the films all the time. I heard what every one was saying. It was always something about twilight. The Film. One day I decided to watch it and I loved it. This led me to read all 4 books within 5 days. My breath was taken away with each leaf of paper I turned. The sheer wonder of the characters, the scenery, the description was amazing. I felt like I was Bella, who lived in Forks and went to high school. I was the one falling in love with the Vampire. I know why she did, as I experienced this, through this book. This book is like a life time experience. You can take away all your fears and jump into this world through one word.

Highly recommend this book.

jsdupler says "'Twilight' is one of the best books of the decade!" about Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)

I must admit, I got into the whole "Twilight" craze a little late in the game. When first movie came out, I hadn't even heard of the book series so I was really not that interested in seeing the movie. About three weeks after the movie debuted in theaters, my friend insisted that I go see it, so I did. And I loved it! The movie prompted me to read the book, and I couldn't put it down. The writing is so clear and the concept so imaginative, and it's appropriate for all ages. While I wouldn't say it is the best in the series, Breaking Dawn holds that honor for me, I do think that it is worth reading and necessary if you plan on reading any of the other books in the series. Stephenie Meyer is a master at the art of writing. You will fall in love with the characters. Bella is so identifiable and not extraordinary at all, which is nice, relateable. Edward is the dreamy epitome of everything any woman would want in the love of her life. Handsome, kind, brooding, attentive,... and immortal....
...

I had not been into vampire books before, but my sister (26 years old) had read the first book and convinced me to borrow it and give it a shot. To be honest I only read it because it was being talked about so much in the media and had won an award.

I'm glad I did because I loved it and ended up being addicted and reading the entire series and recommedning it to my own friends as well. There wasn't a slow moment in the first book. I work from 8-5 and have two school age children and a husband to care for in the evenings. So if I want to read I have to make efforts to set aside time for reading. I found myself rushing through all my chores after putting the boys to bed just so I could hop in bed and read this book.

I liked the mystery of it, the romance that wasn't too terribly heavy, and the thrill. It was written in a way that you were always wanting to come back and read more. There were nights I was holding my eyelids open and refusing to give in to exhaustion and sleep....
...

Silverfish says "Romeo & Juliet vs. Dark Shadows. Refreshing escapism. " about Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)

Twilight (book one) starts off as a simple tale about the normal life and troubles of a teen aged girl, Bella, dealing with issues with her parents divorce, starting at a new high school and all the drama associated with being that age and gender. However, as the book progresses Bella is faced with the adult issues such as love, life and death that make her previous worries seem shallow by comparison. I liked the way Bella progressed from a self centered adolescent toward a more mature outlook as the story progressed.

The tale is a little slow getting started, but there is a lot of character development that is used later to build the story line. Despite the pace, the writing is good and makes for enjoyable reading even though nothing much takes place in the first third of the story. I would have been fine with even more detail about Bella's new life in Forks. The writing is breazy and the pages go quickly.

There is plenty of content in the book that will appeal to people who can relate...
...

This book was so amazing! I recomend this to anyone looking to read a story about a regular girl whose life gets turned upside down when she meets the love of her life. Stephenie Meyer is such a detailed and beautiful writer. I never want o put the books down. This book is so suspenseful, ther is never a dull moment! Do not be afraid that you might get bored with this one! Now we have all probably heard of or have seen the movie Twilight. Which in result may make you hesitate in buying this book. But! I must say the book is so well written and so breathtakingly wonderful, it will beat all of your expections if you just give it a try. Bella is a very clumsy girl who finally meets the one person she will never leave. And Edward loves her back. But, there are others out there who do not have as much compassion for humans as EDward and his vampire family. You will have to buy the book if you want to see what happens. It will have you on the edge of your seat. I gurantee...
...

anwyllyd says "Twilight is an engrossing glimpse into a unique vampiric world." about Twilight (The Twilight Saga, Book 1)

I was initially hesitant to read the Twilight series because it was a) what everyone else was doing, and b) a juvenille literature series. After several friends, whose tastes I respected and trusted, recommended it to me, I decided to give it a try. I found it fascinating.

Stephanie Meyers creates a vampiric world unlike traditional vampiric worlds. Her vampires aren't burned by the sun, they glitter in it like walking diamonds. Her vampires are vegetarians (they don't attack humans), although her family group is one of the very few "vegetarian" vampire groups. And her vampires, at least those in the Cullen family group, have a conscience.

I couldn't put this book down, in fact, my wife came out to ask when I was coming to bed and I had slumped over asleep, with book in hand. I finished it the next day. Be warned however, Bella only continues to grow more annoying and whiny in each subsequent novel.
...

I didnt want to read this book at first because i honestly thought that any books with a vampire in it would not be that good but i was deffinitly wrong. this book is great, and it really leads you wanting to read the other three books! if you dont like to read but you have to read a book, deffinitly read this one because it has a lot of action and everything that you think is going to happen deffinitly doesnt! the book looks like its really long and that it would take a long time to read but it goes by really fast. i wasnt expecting to get hooked, but after you read the first one then you have to read the next ones and so on and so forth! stephanie myer is one of the best teen book writer, and im pretty sure that many many teens have read her books and the ones that have read them are absolutely in love with them! i reccommend this book to any teenager or even adult that is looking for a good book to read!
...

The best book of the century equal Twilight. This book was written by Stephanie Meyer. Meyer's writing is nothing literary fans will deign to read, but, much like Harry Potter, the story and characters, and certainly her uncanny abilities with suspense, will suck your average reader right in. From the very first page of narrator Bella's dismal, klutzy existence, the book is intriguing, thankfully, since this means the only attraction is not the hot vampire himself. Bella is a lead character who is, yes, unrealistically self-sacrificing, but also inadvertently funny. Twilight is a fantastic novel about a vampire and a mortal human. Edward Cullen is the epitome of perfection in the eyes of Bella Swan. From the moment that I had the book in my hand I could not let go of it. The book sucks you in into a world of fantasy and magic. This is the type of book that you might read in just a few sittings, becoming engrossed in its fantastical world and oblivious to your surroundings. While not...
...

I was a bit skeptical to read this book at first. Everyone was reading it and I heard something about how the idea was originally borrowed from the Vampire Diaries. But then I had watched the movie out of boredom and I actually enjoyed it. Yes, the movie was abit slow but I found that the idea of immortal love and depth of love between Bella and Edward was fantastically portrayed. So I decided to read the book. I went to my nearest Walmart and picked up a copy for under 7.00$.

I began to read the book and I was interested by the minute. I ended up staying up all night reading it. I found it to be very romantic. The intensity of the love bella had for Edward was fantastically shown. This kept making me read more and more because I could not wait til the end of the book.

I will not ruin the book for those who have read it but I highly recommend reading it if you are a sucker for romance stories- because this is one story you would not want to miss. Its very romantic.

I have read all 4 books 4 times. this is honestly the best story line and plot I have ever ran across. I am on the edge of my seat waiting for the new moon movie.
