If you like to travel as much as I do, then you are likely the type who utilizes the internet for news and official information about your destination, activities, and the like. You probably also consult the internet before you make a selection for your place of lodging and one site to which many seasoned travelers are fully aware is Trip Advisor, a web service that specializes in reviews of different places of lodging.

Trip Advisor is, like its name suggests, a web service dedicated to the traveler who could use some advice on finding places to stay and things to do. This web site offers member reviews on places of lodging, restaurants, and more. There is also a trip ideas section that asks a few questions and helps you select a place to travel, as well as access to free travel guides for thousands of destinations.

Of all sites, Travelocity is quickly becoming my favorite online travel site when it comes to reviews. I've learned to take reviews with a grain of salt, but you can usually tell the real ones from the plugs or competitive bashing. So many people are learning to add pictures and links that it really helps you feel a little more assured about what you are getting. I've received exactly what I paid for and expected on my last five trips, but that was after extensively crawling through Travelocity and the item of interest (usually hotels). I love how they also rate and rank things. Again, a grain of salt is applied, but I find all sorts of places I'd otherwise never know about in and around the areas I'm traveling to.

Sometimes Travelocity can seem a little "over-linked" with all you can do. It's a powferul information tool once you learn all it can do, but I can see how it also might be a little daunting to someone with minimal computer experience. Still, there is a quick growth arc. If you...

Business Trip Review

I did not anticipate such high levels of service by Sharaftravel as only a few travel management companies in the Middle East provide such remarkable satisfaction. They also provided us with special offers considering we were on a business trip to London. Travel Review

We greatly thank Sharaftravel.com for making our trips to Hong Kong and Thailand an unforgettable experience. After purchasing the tickets for Hong Kong we actually won the free tickets to Thailand. With reasonable pricing and accommodation, my family had a wonderful time on our guided tour. I was a bit nervous at first, wondering whether my kids would be comfortable during the trip. But Sharaftravel unexpectedly made both our trips very relaxing and exciting. Their recommendations of visiting Ocean Park and Disneyland in Hong Kong are highly appreciated by us.

Trip Advisor is the place to go for the inside scoop when you want to really know what a place has to offer that you will be traveling to or you want to know what the hotel you are staying at is really like. I rarely contribute my own information to these kinds of sites, but I do on Trip Advisor because I feel like I get so much out of it when researching travel that I need to share my inside information with others in the same boat.

Although I LOVE the site, my only caveat is that you need to realize that there are always going to be people that have had bad experiences that they want to get off their chest and share--even if it is the nicest hotel in the world, you are going to find some negative reviews about it here. I usually try to read through several reviews and figure out if the person reviewing really is providing information that is helpful to me or if they are just ranting about their one time experience.

The forums are also a wealth of information--especially when searching...

i have been using tripadvisor to help plan my trips for the past 2-3 years & I don't know what I would do with out it! It is such a helpful resource especially since all the reviews come from other travelers and not from the hotel or tourism industry.

We planned our honeymoon to Costa Rica solely using this website for refrences on where to stay how to plan our itinerary and how to get around the country. The traveller's forum is an abundant wealth of resource! And they have almost anywhere you want to visit on their site! Oh and the photos people post really help us make an informed decision about which hotels to choose, because alot of times the hotel website looks completely different than what you actually get!

The only drawback is that if an accommodation is new, there may not be a posting on it & it may not even be acknowledged by the site itself. This happened with a recent stay of ours in Luang Prabang at a wonderful guesthouse call CHannoune GH, but I could not find it on tripadvisor...

So the first thing I did when i decided to plan my trip to Europe was visit TripAdvisor (it was the first thing i clicked on when i was googling for a good travel site) and I was very pleased. I found a cheaper flight on my first search there than i did on any other travel site and am happt yo say that I am writing this from Rome right now (its 2 AM, I can sleep and Im bored). So use TripAdvisor its great, except the site is a bit clunky but id still recomend it.

San Diego North county lacks good restaurants...BUT last night I had the fortune to

experience the best...The Tango in Escondido on Grand Avenue!!! I am very critical

and this chef impressed me no end. Beginning with an excellent service staff and

throughout the fabulous meal I was a happy camper. The creativity shown in the food

preparation/presentation just kept on coming with each course....and delicious...YES!!

Amazing prime rib shortribs; the appetizers are overly-generous so take a good

appetite. Small place, used to be the Asia Vous which I tried and was a dud, but what

an improvement. Great for a special occasion or just a treat for yourself. PS even

the desert was a hit.....the prix fixe dinner is super. (Pat in north county)

I have used Trip Advisor for a few years now and my experience has been that the collective reviews of places and hotels have been spot-on. I have traveled to Mexico quite a few times and have read other people's reviews on their experience with the hotel or resort. When they include pictures it gives you a better picture of what you can expect. Naturally most hotels and resorts only publish professional photos and hire professional writers to make their business stand out above the rest. But the reality is that you need to read through the fluff and see what other people are saying. Granted some people have higher expectations than others and will slam a perfectly good resort. But I have also seen reviews where travelers had no expectations and only cared about the city they were staying in and less about the resort. But as a whole, when you read the reviews on Trip Advisor you get a real feel for what you can expect when going to a certain destination. If 75% of the...

This site has helped me plan family vacations many times. I would see the ads for hotels that looked great then read some of the reviews at TripAdvisor and change my mind. Just to see for myself I would then check out some of the hotels once we got to our vacation destination and be very glad that I did a little research ahead of time.

There is nothing better than being able to check out your vacation destination before acutally booking it. This website is great. Anywhere, anything you need to know, you can generally find out on this website. If I am thinking about planning a vacation, I use this website to find out about the hotel/resort, restaurants, amenities etc. from those who have actually experienced it. It is great! Nothing like knowing what to expect before you get to where you going. But of course you always form your own opinion once you visit.

I absolutely LOVE Tripadvisor!!! They are the best website ever. I always refer to this website before I book any type of trip. I read all the reviews on hotels, retaurants, and things to do. Their forums are very informative also. I would never even think of booking a hotel anywhere without consulting them first.
