Toyota Highlander stands out when compared to others in its range. Not too big but right size. The simple interior and also the contro on the steering makes driving and entertainment go well. The back seat can be lowered and then items packed in it.Im thrilled my wife made a good choice. For fuel consumption which I'm well conscious about,it adds up so well and the mileage on goes we with it.With the back seat doors equiped with cup holders that helps a lot for when i need to keep my soda or water when talking with my wife. The highlander cant be compared to SUV'S that like Ford which are to big in size and the head lights dont look eye catching from a distance. With a fulltime SUV like the one I drive when with my wife sometimes,it adjusts when in snow. The brakes holds so firmly when stepped on.When the weather freezes,we just on the icebreaker and wiper which swings with ease too. This is an SUV produced definitely with us in mind
...

This is by far the best car we have ever owned. All the features of a SUV, but still seems to drive more like a car than a truck. We love toyotas!...

When looking to buy a small SUV late in 2005, I started my research. The features I required were many cupholders and a tape-deck/CD player. My husband laughed, but I still listen to my old tapes. The 2006 Toyota Highlander fit the bill, and we have been very happy with it. I only have 2 complaints and they are minor: 1) The speedometer is in 10's instead of 5's, which requires me to think a little more when deciding if I am speeding. (Like I said, minor complaints) 2) At low fan, the air or heat still seems a bit high. Another funny quirk it has is occasionally balking and then surging suddenly when driving after stopping at a light. However, it makes up for this by its great acceleration power, which it is known for.

Our particular vehicle can seat 7 if the rear seat is raised up. However, the passengers on the back seat better be legless or children, because there is NO legroom. We knew this buying the vehicle, and it has not been a big problem. Cargo area is great, and the interior...
...

The 2006 Toyota Highlander is serving us well. We need a vehicle that can transport an oxygen Large Stationary liquid oxygen resevoirs everywhere I will be gone 6 hours at the most. My portable tank runs out around then. It was important that we had enough clearance to set it in upright(this is Necessary). We carry 2 for vacations

We do save on gas. My husband drives it daily to/from work and we take it on all trips and vacations. We travelled approx 4.25 hours on a trip this weekend. We arrived with a half tank remaining. In today's economy this is Great.

The downside for us is the Price. It is quite expensive but when you reaquire a vehicle that is dependable, easy to drive&Able to handle well inSnowy/ Icy Minnesota Roads. No difficulty starting even though not in garage. We have had extreme low temps of -30 to -40 degrees BELOW zero. With windchill factors making even colder. It is reliable with scheduled maintainance. LOVE IT !

Dependable. Fuel efficient....
...

Toyota does it again. the toyota Highlandi is dependable and roomy. It gives a great ride and has lots of storage room. Gas Mileage is about 19 MPG which is ok. It has great pick up and smooth ride. I use it everyday for travel to work and home. It has lots of space for groceries. It also has both CD and tape player I reccomend it highly.
...

It was hard to purchase such an expensive vehicle and having a steep car payment but I have never been happier with a car purchase. This car is very safety conscious and so fun to drive. It is very reliable and I haven't regretting buying it once. The third row comes in very handy also....

Have had my Highlander for almost 18 months. Very reliable vehicle. Had a Subaru Forester - thought I loved that car, but I rescued 2 retired racing greyhounds and outgrew the vehicle. Can fit both of these guys comfortably when we travel. Reliable - good on gas - especially important now with gas prices the way they are. Not much maintenance required. Only drawback with this vehicle is seats get stained very easily - no complaints mechanically though. Buy one. ...
