victoria1984 says "Good value for the price " about Toshiba Satellite Laptop

Toshiba Satelite laptop. I got this laptop several months ago as an addition to my mini. The only reason I got was because it was very cheap. But it appeared to be a pretty good laptop.

SCREEN:
Screen resolution and the quality of the picture are great. It is very clear and the colors are very bright and natural. The screen can be seen basically by any angle which make it easier to watch a movie with a friend or read from the screen in bed.

Keyboard:
The keyboard is pretty good too. It is easy to type and the keys are located in all the convenient places so you don't really have to get used to this keyboard.

Sound:
I was actually shocked. That's the best sound I have ever heard from a laptop. The sound is loud enough to watch a movie or to listen to the music through the speakers even if you are in a public place. The sound system in this Toshiba is so much more better than in an Acer.

Touchpad:
Touchpad is a little stiff and slippery a little bit which makes it harder to use. But it...
...

I have a Tobhiba Laptop that I use for school only. I am instructor at a Career College and find that all the functions I need are on the laptop.

I have found that by backing up my data if something goes wrong because of inter net use (like a virus), this laptop can be restored easily.

I recommend this laptop for this type of use.
...

I bought the Toshiba Satellite in July of 2005. I picked this computer because I was starting graduate school and needed something that is portable and reasonably priced. It also has a wireless connection, which makes studying at the coffee shops or library very easy. I started to notice that as I was typing up essays or research papers that the cursor kept jumping lines and deleting previous paragraphs. It was very frustrating as I sometimes didn't notice the jumping and would loose precious words. Now that I have graduated from school this computer fits my lifestyle very well. I do not use this computer for work or essays. My basic uses are for checking e-mails. I find that as this computer is now 4 years old it is working just fine. I have got one or two viruses but nothing that can't be fixed. If you are not using this computer for work or school and need it only on a very limited basis, it is a great as it has lasted a very long time with minimal maintenance,
...

Hi everyone, I purchased this fantastic computer a couple of months ago. It is the Toshiba Satellite. I got it on sale for $348. I like using it because I am not tied to my desk anymore. I work at the kitchen table and my coffee table. I haven't taken it anywhere yet because it is a little heavy to carry. It has a 17" monitor.
...

I attend college, so I need a good laptop for studies. The Toshiba Satellite computer laptop is a good buy for someone who likes quality in a laptop computer. It has a larger screen, so it helps to see it better. The graphics are superb, and the memory is sufficient. The speed of the computer is good most of the time. I am using windows vista, which I would not recommend...windows 7 is much better, but that would be a different review. Toshiba is the brand that my family uses, because they are good in quality, for the price spent. There is good customer support, both online and offline (telephone, mail in). Plus, the computer laptop is versatile, and easy to carry around in a laptop computer case. The sound quality is excellent, as I can play videos with good sound and music as well. Video quality is good as well. You can watch videos online, as well as offline. Download speeds depend on what kind of internet connection you have. I know that I would recommend this...
...

I love my 5-year old Toshiba Satellite. It just accidentally dropped four feet, landed face down at a right angle on the floor and did not flinch. It didn't even lose tension in the monitor attachments. The funny thing is that this isn't even the first time it has dropped, just the highest it has fallen. It does overheat after excessive use but other than that it still works like a brand new laptop. It's simply awesome.
...

I have a Toshiba laptop and I have loved it. However, it has had some problems (ie. screen broke for no reason, runs slow much of the time, screen seems to have its own brain). I had to contact the company when the screen broke and they accused me of lying about how it broke and refused to honor the warranty. I have over $1000 in this $400 computer and I will never buy another Toshiba product again. The Toshiba computer itself is very nice for the price. Before having problems with the service center, I was happy with my decision to buy this particular computer. It has Windows Vista on it which, at first, was a challenge but after use I found that it is actually much easier to navigate than the previous programs. The internet is easy to access and there can be multiple accounts on the computer so that you may control the times and days that children can access the computer and, also, control what they do on the computer by using the parental controls. I really like this...
...

I am working with my second Toshiba Satellite laptop. It's my second one because my first one lasted only a little over a year before I started having some problems with it. However, I gave the laptop to my mother to use and it's working fine after only some minor clean up of the hard drive. I ended up buying the same model because it really was a good computer for every day use. The only thing I don't like about the Satellite is the "enhanced" synaptics software for the touchpad. I managed to figure out how to stop my last laptop from doing the insane things it was doing based on where on the touchpad I placed my finger. My new laptop has even more insane touchpad features than the last one. That said, they are incredible little work horses. They are full sized laptops, running the latest Windows OS. Both times I got amazingly good deals on the computer- in the $400-$500 range.
...

I have had my Toshiba Satellite Laptop for over three years now, and it is such a wonderful laptop. For the price of this laptop, it is a great deal! If you are buying a new one, I would suggest getting one that comes with a Windows 7 upgrade. Windows Vista is absolutely horrible. Luckily, I got mine right before Vista came out, so I still have XP, which I absolutely love.

I have only recently had to reformat the computer, but this was only because of sloppy use on my part. The reformat took only about twenty minutes! It was so super quick. I am used to my old Gateway, which took several hours to run.

The only issue I have had is that the right speaker is broken. The sound is low, so I had to turn the speaker all the way up to hear anything. If you are going to get a Toshiba Satellite Laptop, I would suggest investing in external speakers if you are planning on using the sound a lot.

Customer service has been so helpful every time I have called. The battery on my model was recalled, so...
...

I recently had a chance to pick out a laptop that I wanted and it was given to me as a gift. I chose the Toshiba Satellite L505-S6955 laptop. This computer came with a free upgrade to Windows 7, 30 day trial of Norton Antivirus and a 60 day trial of Microsoft Office 2007. It also comes with Windows Vista Home Premium, Intel Pentium (R) Dual Core T4300 @2.1 0GHz, 4.00GB, a 64-bit operating system, DVD multi recorder RW and CD RW, 16" widescreen , Picasa 3 which is used like kodak easyshare, Skype Voice and Video Calling and a variety of games on it and alot that you can download from Wild Tangent Inc. It has a glossy, satin, black and charcoal grey striped finish on the outer surface and a silver and charcoal grey satin striped finish on the inside. The keys are antibacterial. I use it for research, games, music, watching DVD movies, listening to CD's and surfing the web. So far I've had it for 6 1/2 weeks and I have had no major problems.
