This GPS will get you lost,Take you down dead ende roads then tell you to make a u-turn, tell you to turn one way and you need to go the other way,and will try to get you to go on roads that are not roads you can go anywhere on. and when you download a new map it will take all of your saved favorite's off and you have to put them all back on.

my husband and i needed a gps because we travel alot to visit family and friends and sometimes just to explore:) we arent the richest people in the world, so we wanted the most value for our dollar. thats exactly what we got!

I have had the TomTom One XL-S for about two years and it's been good to me. Tech support is very good, as they have replaced all the maps for free after I messed them up.

I have been in cars that have used this GPS. And while it can give very accurate directions, there have been times that it has failed, and failed quite poorly. One time, it indicated that we(my friend was driving his car and I was the passenger) should go to the end of the road and then turn left.

The only problem with this, is that by going left, it took us in exactly the opposite directions of where we needed to go. We both knew that we had to go to the right. So, we ignored the command to go left.

However, if we didn't know that, we would have been in very big trouble.

We bought our TomTOM ONE as hubby is now a truck driver everything went fine untill a route changed somewhere in georgia the gps kept telling him to go right he kept saying to me that silly thing has not got the new information if i go right here we will be in that farmers field. We have scince found out there is a place to go online to upload new routes into the TOM TOM ONE SYSTEM GPS so if that ever comes up again we will be on track and not lost. I really like the fact you touch the screen put in address where your destination is and it will tell you notonly where to go but how it has all the directions on the screen it reminds me of a living map as the thing talks and it says make right turn, if you dont it will say make u turn your going wrong way.I have always been as my husband says directionaly challenged so it really has made a differance in my driving to and fro i used to get lost and call him now i get myself out of being late for everything thanks too TOMTOMONE

We have had our TomTom for about seven months. We use a female voice so we call her Mandy. Mandy is like a part of the family! We enjoy taking her with us and are always amazed at how she always knows exactly where we are. She always lets us know when we missed a turn. She shows us how fast we are travelling and where the rest stops are as well as other points of interest. We don't worry anymore about how to get to our destination. Our TomTom will always get us there. It is easy to use and read while driving, and has an option to store locations for ease of use. Other options include locations of shopping, gas stations, hospitals, churches, and even an alarm to let you know when you are driving over the speed limit. TomTom calculates drive time and gives you an estimated time of arrival while also showing you the miles left until you arrive at your destination. TomTom does all the work. All you need to do is get behind the wheel and go!

I recommend this product...

Ok...when my husband said lets get Tom Tom, i was like sure go ahead didnt excite me at first cause we never went and where, where we needed a Tom Tom. but luckly we did..cause my son had to be at a hospital a few months after we bought tom tom and if it wasnt for tom tom we would have never found the place...lol....that gave me trust in tom tom that he new what he was talking about...lol....after that we go and take tom tom everywhere we have been so many places, and even if its around the house i have to take it cause i dont have a clue most of the time where anything is at so i just put it tom tom and he leads the way....lol..it is so easy to use and u just gotta love the touch screen and the talking...lol....LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!

I LOVE my tom tom one. We bought it a little over a year ago, and it has saved us so many times in the St. Louis area, esp. with all the construction that is going on here. Sadly, I shop more than ever because I can easily find all the stores in the downtown area that were always out of reach before.

It is also a lifesaver when on cartrips with my hubby. It GREATLY cuts down on the inevitable roadtrip fights over stopping for directions. It is also great for the kids, because I can tell them exactly when we will be there.

The only drawback, is like with every GPS system, you have to download updates every so often. I wish they would come up with a way to do auto updates without having to hookup to a computer.

Overall, I would recommend this product to anyone who travels at all, loves to shop, lives in a city (esp. those with continual construction), or to those who are going on a vacation or trip in an unfamilar city.

My husband and I love the tom tom gps. We have two of them 1 for each of our cars so that we never get lost. They are so simple and easy to use. We had another brand before and we couldn't ever learn how to use it and the salespersons at the time were no help either.

My hubby and I bought this Tom Tom while visiting my son in Tennessee. We used it several times while in Nashville, being unfamiluar with the area Tom Tom really helped out. We were able to make it to all our destinations without any problem at all. We have also used the option to locate different stores not knowing if they even had them in the area, again Tom Tom took us right to were we wanted to go. I recommend Tom Tom to any one who likes to travel and also just for everyday use.

I used to shudder at trips alone. I can't read maps...and I always used to get lost. Now, with teh TOMTOM GPS, all I have to do is type in where I need to go. I like the all the extra features it has. You can choose points of interest, parks, shopping centers, find a restaurant or gas station near you etc. As you drive down the road, little icons pop up such as bank names, atms and gas stations, so you can easily see what's around you if you need something. The only thing I don't like is the price of dowloading new maps. Mines a few years out of date. Being out of date can cause you to have pld information on new roads and exits. But even if you have old information, it will just recalculate and tell you where to go. It seems for the price of a new TOMTOM, you should be able to download new maps for around $20. They actually cost twice that much. Still, I would be lost without i! No more maps! I've never seen any construction notifications either.

This little device has made our travels safer,much less stressful and certainly more enjoyable. Just get used to trusting "him". Occasionally, does go on a off road path
