The TomTom One was a gift that my husband got me because I have to occassionaly go on long business trips across the state. There were plenty of times I would get lost and have to stop and ask for directions and my husband, being the protective and loving man he is, would state he felt uncomfortable with me asking for directions in a strange place for fear I may get hurt. So, he purchased the TomTom One for me. He chose this particular model because he said it was small enough to put in my purse when I arrived at my destination yet it was able to provided all of the necessary directions. This certainly has been a great addition to my traveling - for business and our pleasure trips as well. I highly recommend this product for anyone who travels around town or for traveling longer distances. It is also small enough to pack in your luggage when you travel out of town so you add it to your rental car to drive around your new destination without having to stop and ask for directions....

It leads me to wrong places often, and I have been told I have to update it weekly. I don't want to do that every week, it's annoying.

I love my Tom Tom XL GPS Navigation System. I actually bought it for my husband for Christmas but I am the one who uses it. I love how you can be anywhere and when your hungry you can look up the nearby places to eat. We have found some neat little out of the way restaurants that way. We also dream of taking road trips across country and we punch in destinations just to see how long the drive will be and what states we will go through to get there. The fact that you can go online and get updates is great, and it's fun that there are so many different voices that you can download. There is one voice that sounds just like Jeremy Irons. We like to use that one. My daughter says it sounds like Scar from the Lion King movie ( also Jeremy Irons) I only wish that it spoke the names of the streets that you needed to turn on so you didn't have to look at it while you were driving. My family is just getting into GEO Caching and we use our Tom Tom to take us right to where...

I bought this for my boyfriend this holiday season, I tend to do most of the driving and he tends to be the direction giver so I thought this would help him out because he has a hard time reading maps. He has always ended up putting away or selling the techie gifts I get him but this gift will stick around for the long term. He and I have used it on every day trip and even a road trip to Florida, (we live in chicago). Sometimes the GPS tells us that the address is on the opposite side of the street, but this is literally the only problem we have had with it.

My Tom Tom One XL was a gift. I never wanted or needed a GPS. Or so I thought. I love that I can choose the voice that talks to me. It's lightweight, so If I want to walk around the city, I can take it with me and not get lost. I did that in NYC and thought it was the greatest.

When I first got it, I found myself testing it. Typing in locations I already knew how to get to, to see if it sent me the most practical way. so far so good. It was when I was going those long distances, that I found it taking me off the beaten path. I did get lost a few times, but after finding my bearings with a good old fashioned map, it all worked out.

One feature I really like is that it tells you to get in the correct lane before telling you to turn. Avoids the last minute shoot across a three lane highway.

All in all, not a bad product. Don't use it in everyday life, but for those weekend trips, or long distances where I will be exploring a city I have never been to, I find it irreplacable....

The TomTom Navigation System that we bought is very easy to use and program. The different things you can add or download make it a fun toy to play with. I just hook it up to my laptop with the USB cable and download just about anything I want. I can add my own pictures, icons, sounds and custom voices. Programming it to get to your destination is so easy a Caveman could do it. I would reccommend this Navigation system to anyone. It has a quick-release attachment to your car window so that you never have to leave it in the car so that it doesn't temp any thieves....

I had ended up winning an Amazon giftcard and thought it would be nice to finally get a GPS and make my husband happy. I now love my Tom-Tom, who we've named Yoda because you can download voices to the unit, and ours is Yoda's voice(and all his fun grammar, too!). I love this unti for a number of reasons. It's really easy to use, it recalculates your route if you miss a turn, it makes getting on and off highway exits much more easy, it lets you search for local points of interest (like gas, food, hospitals, bank-specific ATMs, etc. ), and even has a feature that lets you set a specific MPH alarm that goes off when you exceed that set speed. There's so many great features, but those are my favorites. It's worth the money to be able to drive anywhere with the utmost of confidence....

I have a love hate relationship with our TomTom One XL. We got it originally because it was a great price and comparable to the Garmin. The first few times we used it it was amazing and got us exactly where we needed to go. Then, it decided it hated us. It would lead us into weird directions and try to make us turn on streets that didn't exist. It has problems finding its satellite most days, and that became a real issue for us during the recent hurricane. Most days it works fine, but more times than not, it takes us on random detours.

My husband and I recieved the Tom Tom XL One as a gift, and we love all the features it offers. I was impressed with the ability to choose a voice and the display of landmarks right on the map. What we were never told, and didn't learn until reading the fine print, is that all the great features are free for 30 days. The owner must subscribe to services in order to continue the features. We have lived all over, used the Tom Tom everywhere, and we would like it much better if the purchase price included use of its many features....

Tom Tom's One XL is pretty darned handy.
The tiny little portable unit is lightweight, and easy to remove and reinstall in the car. Big plus. You can also choose the voice you want to hear (and some of them talk faster than others). My favorite feature is the fact that the Tom Tom tells you which LANE to get into before an exit comes up. Why have to guess? Just relax and follow directions. You can also reset the screen for day or night, so that it's easy to read but not disturbing.

Cool features
Travelling salesmen or traverlers looking to accrue points at a certain brand of hotel will appreciate this Tom Tom's "points of interest" feature. On the easy-to-use touchscreen, just select points of interest for your destination, and it will list several, including all the big-name hotels. Holiday Inn Express, here I come! ;-)

And if I screw up....
If for whatever reason I don't follow the verbal directions that Tom Tom gives me, it can recalibrate new...

This TomTom is very useful. My job requires me to drive every day and it has saved me all kinds of time. The low cost sold me on this one. It may not have all the bells and whistles, but it gives me the information I need on a very stylized screen. Lets me know well in advance where to turn and the screen is eay to follow...

I am bad with directions and get lost everywhere I go, even when I am around my own home. Without this TomTom- One XL GPS Navigation System who knows where I would be. It is the perfect thing for travelers and also truck drivers. I would know I bought one for my father and ever since then he has never been late for a delivery or a pick-up.

Tom Tom is the only GPS I have bought and he hasnt let me down so far. I take Tom everywhere I go. The graphics are good and this model wasnt too expensive....
