AngelSuzy says "Tin Man is a nice miniseries" about Tin Man mini-series 2007

Iam a fan of the Wizard of OZ big time. So I was excited when The SciFi channel made the miniserires Tin Man. Of course I like the actor that played the Tin Main in the movie. He has the nicest eyes ever. It was a wonderful and nice updated version of the Wizard of Oz. It was a pretty cool show. More moderen and upto date. It took the 1930's and made it a more cool and rade one. I think the coolest part of Tin Man that is based on the movie and DG is the grand-duagher of the orgianal Dorothy Gale. DG makes references to her in the movie and some of the scenes from The Wizard of Oz. The miniseries is based on two sister. They are enemies. DG wants to save the OZ or Outer Zone and her older sister wants to destroy it. She is traped there after a Tornado hits her hometown and she is transported to the OZ. She mets a band of misfits and the four and a shapefiting man who turns into the dog Toto help her save her home.I really love the end of the show though. When DG saves her sister...
...

The Tin Man mini-series 2007 was very enjoyable. Zoe Deshanel did a great job as well as the other cast. The "scarecrow" was the most interesting character in my opinion. He had a zippered head where his brain was removed. The series had one drawback & that was the 'evil witch" was too cute & not nearly scary enough in my taste!!

A very interesting twist on a classic. I only wish they would have extended this mini-series. Maybe a made-for-tv movie!!
...

Fresvic says "Most Interesting Version Of Wizard Of Oz I Have Ever Seen!" about Tin Man mini-series 2007

The Tin Man is a clever version. The characters' special abilities came together to where you will not get lost in the whole plot. The idea of a sister, Azkadellia and a mother being involved was totally different and made me think the other way around. "What if Dorothy had a sister and a mom, and if she did where were they"? Anyway, this is what Tin Man did for me: It kept my mind open to wonder, surprise, relief, joy, and inspite of the evil doings. faith and family love had prevailed. DG, Row, Tin Man, and Glitch so dynamically different only wanted one thing, and that was to find out how to get DG back to where she came from.

Nothing like I expected, but everything I thought It would be. The writers, directors, and everyone involved in this production has brought a new meaning to the word imagination. Reversing twists.
...

vivasuzi says "Interesting for fans of Wizard of Oz, but much different" about Tin Man mini-series 2007

I just finished watching all 6 hours of the Tin Man mini-series on the SciFi channel. I DVRed it as soon as I heard about it because I love the Wizard of Oz and figured I would like this too.

Tin Man is a crazy remake of the Wizard of Oz. We have similar characters and storylines, but the over all story is way different. First there is DG, a waitress who is having crazy dreams about a beautiful woman with lavender eyes who warned her a storm was coming. DG is played by Zooey Deschanel who I recognized from Failure to Launch and The New Guy. She did a great job as the edgy girl with an attitude who also had a good heart. Other characters quickly come into play such as Glitch played by Alan Cumming who is a take on the Scarecrow, Raw who is a take on the Cowardly Lion and then there is the Tin Man. In this modernized story, the Tin Man is called such because he is a cop, not because he is tin.

All characters in the story are still strange and interesting, but they are more...
...
