I already had an item in my cart and was checking out. In the middle of that, the item disappeared, went out of stock, and all TigerDirect had to say was "tough luck!" Other websites have clearly stated policies in this regard: for example, that the item will stay in your cart for X minutes before it's allowed to return to inventory for others to purchase. With TigerDirect, they rely on chaos. Other sites have this figured out... TigerDirect should warn people about this problem in their web site! The people at TigerDirect and their parent company, Systemax, were very rude and could care less about my issue.

Tiger Direct is a great place to shop for value-consious computer builders. There are 2 stores (1 1/2 hr drive and 2 hr drive) within easy driving distance, plus shopping on the website, TigerDirect.com, is easy and convienient. It is a great place to buy parts for your build and save a couple hundred dollars or more over buying a computer retail. I built a system 2 years ago that was better than anything available at retailers at the time, either because of better performance or much better pricing.

I spent about $1,000 on components, half ordered from the website, and half purchased directly from one of the retail outlets. For a comperable system (with a much less cool looking case) I would have had to spend another $400, so it was well worth it to build my own. In addition, I bought components that will allow for upgrades, something you won't get from Dell and some others, so I can upgrade from my dual core to a quad core, add memory to my 4GB in the empty memory slot (the system can...

I've purchased from Tigerdirect regularly for the past three years with no complaints. To date, I have purchased the parts to build two complete systems, and purchased a number of extra hard drives and other parts. I've never had the need to return anything, so I can't provide any feedback on anything other than straight purchases.

Delivery times are as promised and email with UPS delivery tracking has always been provided. I have yet to receive anything that was damaged or incomplete.

Pricing is a bit better than my local brick and mortar place, but Tiger's pricing is really no different than other large on-line retailers like Newegg. My only gripe is the jumbled look of the website and the repeated recommended products that appear on the side. It is a very cluttered place....not unlike my local computer store!

While you can't touch the products, the detailed photos and the product videos give you a good idea of what you are buying.

I purchased a laptop for my daughter which was supposed to include and HDMI card. When I got around to purchase the cable, I discover there was NO HDMI card. I contacted TigerDirect and was told since it was purchased more than 30 days ago there was nothing they could do. What a great company...I would never purchase from them again and neither should you. Stay away from this company and buy direct from the manufacturer unless you enjoy this type of service.

We have been using Tiger Direct for many years now and have not been let down yet. We have purchased everything from computers and monitors to TV's and routers. We purchased a Vizio Flat screen TV an it was at our door in less than a week, and just in time for the Super Bowl. Talk about a happy Hubby! They almost always beat competitors prices with the same quality or better products and service. We will continue to shop Tiger Direct until something better comes along, which hasn't happened yet...

I have always had a great experience with this website................ Whenever I need an electronic item, this is the place I first visit.............great bargains!!!! They also have a great selection....most sites will just offer you a couple of deals but not this site....they always have enough bargains!!! and the delivery service has always been impeccable!!!...

*** BAD OVERALL EXPERIENCE WITH TIGER DIRECT *** I placed my first order with Tiger Direct today and will never order from them again. If it weren't for the gift certificate I was stuck with, I would NOT have ordered from them. Their prices are consistently higher than can be found elsewhere. My experience: 1. The entire shopping experience was EXTREMELY INCONVENIENT. 2. Their price match policy leaves too much room for them to lie. Read it- they say they won't price-match anything below their cost, yet when I called them with a list of 15 online stores offering the same product (in stock, etc.) at a lesser price - including Buy.com, Dell, etc, Tiger Direct wouldn't price match a $70.99 item down to 59.99, initially telling me their cost was "about 59.99" and, ultimately, after a brief battle, priced match a different store at 60.99. I bought a Dell refurbished desktop CPU from tigerdirect.com. In the first time itself the computer refused to boot up and all there was was a blank screen. When I read their policies carefully it said that for returning the product I will need to contact dell services. I did that and the Dell people told me that they cannot find the deal on which they leased the refurbished item to Tigerdirect. They told me they will contact again which never happened till date.

I would advise people to read the fine print at tigerdirect very carefully before buying anything expensive. In fact totally avoid buying refurbished electronics from them. They are just selling junk for hundreds of dollars. Better get a new one, there won't be a huge difference in price.

I wanted to purchase a brand name electronic labeller and checked the prices at all of the brick and mortar stores as well as online stores. I even checked the manufacturer's site but in the end I purchased from Tiger Direct. They beat the advertised price from the manufacturer plus I got a warranty and it was shipped directly to me in 2 business days. I'm a satisfied customer.

They had great prices, but it didn't matter since they never gave me the parts. This is the place you should use if you want them to take your money, in my case almost $1600 and then tell you to wait for at least 75 days to get your parts. So far, no parts and no money. This store is one of my least favorite charities, I'm going to call it that until I actually receive something from them. I am doing my best to recommend Newegg.com to anyone interested in the kind of things Tigerdirect.com sells. This place may work for you but I will not give them my money again.

I have been shopping with TigerDirect for 3 years, but the way time flows by these days, it's probably is more like since the day TigerDirect came online. My wife can't think of a time when their periodic e-mails didn't show up on the in-box listing. I am a very satisfied customer, and I belong to a group of guys who constantly scan the catalog for new ideas and innovations.

What I order: electronics, computers and computer parts. The largest item was a desktop computer. The smallest I just ordered last night: computer memory. I can count 15 separate orders, but there have probably been more.

Shipping: They package the item with extreme care. I have never had a ding, break, crunch, or mistake on the specific part. Usually my orders arrive by the "best means", which here in the rural netherlands means UPS. Unbelievably, the items take no more than 2-3 days to arrive at my door. My only complaint is that they still use those darn, infuriating Styrofoam peanuts.

I bought a laptop from them with a "rebate". A lot of little small print that you have to follow for the rebate. I called the company when I figured out I hadn't correctly filled out all the forms.

They wouldn't work with me in any way to try and remedy the problem. They customer rep talked down to me, so I asked to speak to a manager and he was even worse.

The prices are low, but it's not worth the horrible customer service. If you search for Tiger Direct in google, #2 that comes up is tigerdirectsucks.org. I wish I had done that before I bought from them.

Absolutely the best place, as far as I'm concerned, to buy computer parts and electronics. I bought a computer here---their brand is Systemax, with all customer service IN THE USA! The computer was customized by myself, so I got what I wanted, and the price was simply fantastic for what I got. I also have bought a CD burner, a replacement floppy drive, a replacement power supply, several sticks of RAM, a digital camera (see my review of the HP Photosmart 527), and an SD card --- all from this site.

I did have one small problem with the last order, I paid with PayPal, and apparently it wasn't working on their end. The payment had cleared my bank, but they were still sending me emails about needing to pay for my order...so I called them. Actually, I had to call three times before I finally got the right person to handle the problem, but all three of them were english-speaking Americans (how many customer service reps have you talked to who sounded Indian??).
