I cannot live without my tive. Working second shift, I usually miss all of my shows at night. i used to depend on a vcr to record all the shows and would have to watch everything that next day so i could record over it and tape more things. Before you knew it, i had multiple tapes I would record on and the image quality would get worse and worse. Tivo stores everything digitally so there is no tape to worry about. The image and sound quality are no different than if you were watching it live. Tivo series 2 is an upgrade from the original in that you can record one show while watching another, You can watch it at your own convenience and you can store alot of hours worth of footage on it. One of the best purchases i ever made. Would recommend it to everyone, so convenient and easy to use

Oh boy. Well first, when you turn it on, Tivo leads you through the set up process in a logical easy fashion. I am fairly tech savvy, and added the wireless option so that Tivo could connect with my wireless router to save a lot of wiring. So, I hooked my cable to Tivo, my Tivo to my TV and also added a Dvd recorder/player with no issues.

I think one of my favorite things about Tivo is how intuitive the controls, remote and even the menus are. I have not had any problems figuring out how to set up recordings, recording quality or making DVDs of shows to watch (much) later. I can easily check to see the recording history or the to do list. Huge plus is season pass - it will find your show to record when the station decides to move the day or time it's shown. Yay! Another big plus, you can individually choose recording quality for programs, so if you are going to DVD it, you can use the high quality versus medium or basic (to save memory). A friend of mine bought my my Tivo over four years ago, and I really have come to depend on it. So much so that I am nervous about it's age. It does what it is supposed to fo, and more.

It records the shows at reasonable quality (on standard, DVD quality on Best). It keeps them as long as I need them or want them, and makes suggestions that, despite a few glaring and repetitive errors (I do NOT want to watch any moe episodes of Masterminds. Get it?) they seem fair enough.

It is reliable, it is easy to use, it is friendly, and even keeps up with the constantly changing cable lineup. The remote is not the battery hog I was afraid it would be, and though I have yet to figure out how to transfer a show to disk, every other feature works fine. I highly recommend it for those features alone.

The price might seem a tad high, but the value received (watching what I want when I want) is worth it to me. I think that this, the Gold Standard by which DVRs are compared, still ranks the highest. I...

I LOVE my Tivo - and now actually have two of them, a 40-hour and an 80-hour with dual receivers, so I never miss a thing. My husband and I laugh that we don't know anything about commercials anymore because we NEVER WATCH THEM!! When I go somewhere that I have to watch TV live, I cannot believe how long it takes to watch a show!! nd commercials? Ugh. Loud, inane and repetitive.........something I can live without!!

By now, is there anyone who doesn't know what Tivo is? It's now so ubiquitous that it has found its way into our language as both a noun (I just bought another Tivo) and a verb (Didn't you Tivo it?). So why talk about it now? Because it just keeps getting better and better.

A Primer

In the event that there is somone who doesn't know Tivo is a Digital Video Recorder (DVR) that coupled with the Tivo Service allows you to record your favorite TV shows so you can watch them when you choose.

You can select your programs to record one by one or by subscribing to a Season Pass where Tivo will automatically record the same recurring show or series whenever it is on TV.

You can also create a wish-list, telling Tivo to record specific programming, by title, actors, directors, etc. So if you're dying to get one last shot of seeing "Putney Swope", tell Tivo. It'll keep its eye out for it and record it.

This particular model records up to two shows at once while letting you watch yet a third. ...

I had a Tivo 2 series for almost 2 years and loved it and all the features it offers. When I moved a few months ago, i made the mistake of giving it to my sister and getting a dvr through my cable service. I don't like the dvr near as well and will be buying a new Tivo as soon as possible. I had it wirelessly connected and liked being able to download tv shows and movies to my computer to watch later....

I got the TiVo & 1 year service for free with a rebate last year, just to try it out. Now I'll never be able to go back. I don't know how we lived without it for so long! It is so simple to use and we never miss a show! It is also wonderful to be able to fast forward through commercials and pause your show when the phone rings....

The TiVo - Series2 TCD649080 Video Recorder is a great invention. It does have a few issues with speed when programming shows to record. There are updates that automatically will be installed and the last one which we received on 10/21 has seemed to fix some of these issues. It is now much faster. Overall it's a great product that I could no longer live without. Being able to program this remotely is another great feature!

I have had the Series 2 for over a year, and I absolutely love it. I am a Cox Communications subscriber, and I have heard nothing but bad things about their DVR, so I decided to stick with Tivo. The dual tuner is an awesome feature allowing you to record two channels at the same time. It is definitely a nice, and needed, upgrade from the single tuner Tivo I used to have. With Tivo, I actually spend less time watching tv! Now, when I sit down in front of the tube, I know there is something good to watch. No more channel surfing! I also don't have to worry about working my life around my favorite shows. I just record, and watch them when I have a chance!...

Tivo is fun, easy, and soo convenient. I am a 4 year Tivo subscriber and I don't think I could ever go back to a non-tivo existence.

DVR's in general are a great thing, but Tivo is extra special. My favorite tivo function is the Wishlist. I put in all of my favorite Actors in. I also do wishlists for upcoming trip destinations,so I can find travel shows about places I will be visiting. You can set it up to automatically record wishlist shows, or just save them and check to wishlist every few days. Never miss your favorite actor or actress on a talk show, watch every travel special about Vienna before you visit, know whenever there is a special about any topic you are interested in.

I think Tivo is one of man's greatest inventions. I love that I can record shows & watch them when I want. I am getting ready to have my second child & it was very helpful with my first during those late night feedings to have something to watch when the baby is awake....

I am currently on my third TiVo box. I now have a TiVo box for every television in my house. TiVo is so much more convenient the cable DVR system. I really love the ability to schedule programs from any computer (tivo.com or Yahoo.com).

Tivo is the best invention ever. I work two jobs so i cant get to all my shows when they are on. Now i can watch them on my time. Plus i can zip through commercials. Its really great for sports events. I can watch an NFL game in about an hour, and a NBA game in about 45 minutes. Best invention ever!...
