In some ways it reminded me of H.G. Wells time machine in that the film was shot with warm colors and eveything seemed to hold forth antique images. The story was not a hard hitting one and there was very little in the way of major surprizes but that could be a very Russian thing and, if you approach the film in this way you can appreciate the issues at hand between the couple and even the parallels between the father and daughter.</p> <p>For the $2.00 I paid it was well worth it and I did not feel that it was a waste but a relaxing way to "veg out" and not be at home.</p> <p> </p>... I really like the idea of time travel being related to a genetic flaw. Its a mix of sci-fi and romance. It's a wonderful love story and the charatecters are endearing. I was so said when the book ended. Even though the story jumps around with time travel it is still easy to follow. I gave this book to my mom and dad and they both really enjoyed it. It's a tough book to put down.  I heard that it has been made into a movie and I can't wait to see how it translates to film.</p>... The book has a lot of backstory that they can't get into the movie. I loved reading about the main character's adventure back and forth through time. I admit there were places where I cried and not to give too much away, but I never expected the ending. It was a very fresh and complicated read. For this to be the author's first book, she really did a great job interweaving a complex ladscape that had to be kept clear with all the jumping around in time. Don't miss this book!</p>... In fact, i read it twice, first on my own, and secondly with my book club. We all agree that we liked it a lot, though many found it confusing. I really did have to flip back and forth from time to time, espescially the first time through, to try and understand the dates and ages. It can be a bit confusing, but the story was such an intriguing read that I didn't mind it at all. I don't know quite so much about the love story concept, though it certainly is there, and certainly on my second time throuhg it did feel a bit like a heartrending roller-coaster of a love story, perhaps even more so since it hasn't been so long since I was dealing with the regular roller-coaster of "young love." My first time through I identified more with Clare, though the second time I switched back and forth a bit more in whom I most identified with/liked. I think perhaps that knowing how it all ends gave the story even more of a bitter-sweet feel. I definitely recommend...</p>... The way the book is organized, and the first-person context (which includes chapters from two persons' points of view) is original and wonderful. </p><p>Don't be confused by going back and forth between the characters. Just go with the flow, and it all works out. Just enjoy the writing and learn about the traveler and his wife. The author won't disappoint you. </p><p>Check it out!</p>... The main character isn't perfect- sometimes he steals or lies, but considering the circumstances I can't say I really blame him. The author does a very good job of making you love the characters just enough to be able to wrench your heart out at the things that happen. She was literally glowing as she was telling me about it. I didn't really like the first chapter or so too much, but it got so much better! This book is a little confusing at times, with all the back-and-forth, but I thought it was worth it. Word of warning: not exactly a happily-ever-after ending. It's kinda bittersweet and mixed. Very grown-up. This was extremely well-written.... In turns, it's funny, poignant, thought-provoking, heartbreaking. I grew to truly care about the characters, Henry and Clare. I wouldn't say that this is a tragic love story as some people have described. I think that this is a book that illustrates true love and uses a fantastic backdrop to show just how far true love will go....
