Quick View: I really hate the idea that men all over the country are tuning into this show to get tips on how to pick up women. The tips are pretty lame and the whole show is actually laughable, especially when the "leader" looks like a skinny alien.
About The Pick Up Artist

This show airs on Sunday nights at 8 p.m. on VH1 and about 10 million times throughout the week in reruns. The premise of the show is that eight nerdy guys who are socially and sexually repressed learn the art of picking up women and, each week, one is eliminated until there is just one man left. That man is dubbed, "The Pick Up Artist".

The guy who leads these nerds is named Mystery. I have NO idea who he is outside of this show but it's a mystery to me what women see in him. He's awkwardly tall, thin, has stringy long hair, and is nothing special as far as looks go. His hook is his so-called style. He wears fur cowboy hats, colored goggles over ski caps, tons of jewelry, black nail polish, lots of piercings, weird...
...

fqparis says "The Only Mystery Was Why Anyone Was Taking this Man Seriously" about The Pick Up Artist

How do you close a set? When is it time to bounce? Is there ever too much Kino? Or were you wondering, as I was, what in the hell is Kino?

But really my main question was much simpler than any of that, it can be summed up in one word: why? Why did anyone think a man who was clearly doing his best Jamiroquai impersonation qualify as a man you should look to for advice on picking up girls? I must admit after watching the first season of the pick up artist , I can't answer any of the questions above. Okay, so maybe I know what Kino is, but I'm not proud of myself. I can tell you this, though, VH1 is on to something. Television is no longer about liking the character. No one watched because they cared, they watched because of how easy it was to despise, the host and sensei of the show, Mystery.

Every week I sat in front of my t.v. in a state of delighted horror as Mystery's proteges listened to the ridiculous advice that he and his crew (J Dawg--a sad, sad example of what looking "mainstream......
