My family and I love this show! We got hooked on it when a family member was watching it and said we had to see it, since we had not yet ever seen it at the time. It is hilarious! At first it seemd odd, the format with the characters talking to the camera and stuff but then we really got into it and got to know all of the characters and their attributes. It is addicting- we went out and rented all of the previous episodes to get caught up. It's hilarious and we always end up cracking up or imitating parts of it whenever we watch it.
...

debatablerug says "What is a sound bite?" about The Office

Imagine you have a friend working for a customer service phone line, and one day, one particular person keeps calling your friend over and over, asking outrageous questions and making obscenely rude comments. No matter how polite and correct and patient your friend is to this person, they still keep assuming they are right and disbelieve every answer your friend gives to help the situation. Irritated and confused, your friend visits you after work to vent out his/her feelings about the day. Listening to your friend dictating her dilemma with this customer is as close as you can get to describing the humor of The Office; when you laugh, it's not because of clever jokes or puns, it's because of how ridiculously rude and wrong some of these people are. Or because of the fact that, while Michael Scott is probably the most confused and childish boss in the world, he thinks he's the greatest-- he even buys himself a "the world's best boss" mug. Another example is Dwight Schrute, the self-proclaimed...
...

The Office is one of the shows the I never miss. The docu-drama way it is shot is unique in its own right, but the writing is what makes this show so funny. Michael Scott lives in his own world and is the only onewho laughs at his jokes. He has permanent blinders on because he offends everyone, yet just when you feel like hating him you cant because in some really, really wierd way his heart is in the right place - sometimes. Then there's insanely intense Dwight, who thinks he has some sort of managerial power and will go to any lengths to prove it even though he really has none. His ongoing and sort of secret commodarie with Jim is absolutely hilarious because Jim seems to outwit him every time. Dwight makes some ridiculous comment about Jim's poor work performance because he's not following subsection C of rule # whatever and then Jim will some how turn it back around on him splitting hairs even further and make Dwight start to stutter. There's so many ongoing side...
...

The Office is so funny because it's so true to life...in an awkward way. Being from the Scranton area, though, you can obviously see where the local landscape ends and the set begins, but that takes nothing away from my enjoyment of the series.
...

This is by far my favorite show on television. I didn't get into it until the 4th season, but I literally spent a weekend and watched Seasons 1-3 back to back. The characters on this show are so well written and so believable. If you work in an office ... or hell, live on the planet, you can find something to relate to in this comedic show. Give it a chance and you'll be hooked!
...

I still love The Office, though I think that the early shows are better than the current ones. It's lost some of its edge and has moved far away from the British sitcom that inspired it. Also, I liked the relationship between Pam and Jim better before they were together. The tension between them at that time was more interesting than the current storyline.
...

The office TV Show on NBC is hilarious! I call it a must see if you work in an office. Michael Scott played by Steve Coral is great. The cast is also just as talented. At first I hated the show, but once I watched it more I feel in love with the show. The plots are usually very funny and sometimes unpredictable which is great. They also have a nice story line that follows key characters throughout the season. The only down side is that I think as a viewer I expect the show to be laugh out loud very episode, but I feel the writers are being a little more conservative. Still a great show and I have never missed an episode.
...

The Office (apparently every season, as put here) is my favorite comedy show of all time. Michael's foot-in-mouth shenanigans, Dwight's overbearing bluntness and Jim & Pam's pranks have me on the edge of my seat every episode.I highly recommend this for fans of Arrested Development, 30 Rock, or SNL.

I'm not sure when I really got hooked, but one thing's for sure: I hope this show never get discontinued. The writers are brilliant, and have a way of keeping the delicate mix of comedy, romance and content perfect!
...

The Office is one of the funniest television shows on primetime! You don't have to work in an office to find this show funny, but I think working in an office does make it even more funny! Basically the plot is an about an awkward boss, Michael, who thinks that everyone who works with him loves him and he also thinks that he is the master at improv (which you come to find out that neither of those are true). The Office just basically shows how a bunch of people who are completely different and may not really like each other interact with one another. It shows how awkward things can be in a setting like that and the strange things that people do to entertain themselves. One of my favorite character's name is Dwight. He is a socially awkward guy who grew up and still lives on a beet farm with his cousin. He is exetremely serious and doesn't really get any jokes. The guy he sits next to is named Jim and Dwight annoys Jim so much that Jim is always playing pranks on Dwight and finding other...
...

The best comedy show on TV! It has a great cast and the antics are great! I'm always happy when it is Thursday because I know the Office is on that night. The members of the office staff are hilarious and the wacky scenes are great. I'm always laughing out loud (especially at Michael and Dwight). The writers for this show are definitely very creative and comedic. It is a hit that I will continue to watch for a long time. We have already bought a few of the previous seasons on DVD and watch them when we cant find anything entertaining on....

supermax says "Best comedy since Seinfeld." about The Office

"The Office" is a refreshing comedy that leaves you wondering how the writers come up with this knee slapping material! Even if you do not work in an office setting you can still enjoy the situations that these paper sales people get themselves into. You laugh when they make fun of themselves, choke up when things get seriuos, and cringe when the politically incorrect gaffs or inappropriate behavior unfolds before you in the most awkward of situations.

Part of what makes "The Office" so enjoyable are all the different characters. They are such a perfect sampling of personalities, over the course of your work experience you have probably worked with each and every one of them. They are all likeable, yet sometimes pathetic, and in the process you struggle between feeling sorry for them and enjoying yourself laughing at their mistakes or shortcomings.

I look forward to it every week, wondering what the writers could possibly dream up next, and am never disappointed.
...

The Office has amazing characters and hilarious jokes every step of the way!

The Office is very funny but does take some time to get use to. One you get to know the characters the stories are endless humor. The first thing I noticed is that there is no music in the background at any time, only the theme song at the very beginning of the show. I thought this would hinder the watcher from getting into the mood, but it actually intensifies the feeling the show means to bring out in the watcher. It also brings out the amazing talent of the actors. The show "The Office" is a very funny show. It is very worth taking the time to get to know the characters.
...
