ErGraham says "It's not over 'til the Gray Lady Sings" about The New York Times

As a 21-year-old communications and political science student in New York City, picking up The New York Times is like having my morning cup of Joe. I can't function without it. Yes, I know what you're thinking. The Times is my bug zapper. I am its firefly. (Although you must admit, there's nothing quite like the luring smell and feel of crisply painted gray pages.) Well, I've set aside my personal ties, and have taken a closer look at what the NYT is pushing. All I've found is that The New York Times does precisely what the institution claims. It produces "All The News That's Fit To Print."

One of the most common criticisms of The New York Times is that it has a politically liberal point of views. One very obvious critic of the Times that comes to mind is Bill O'Reilly, and for once, I'm not here to argue against him. (If I was, in fact, here to criticize a slanted news outlet: watch out FOX NEWS!) So I've asked myself, what exactly do partisan press critics, like Bill, demand from a news...
...

I love this newspaper and it is one of the only ones left around. I strongly advocate getting a subscription to the New York Times at least for the "weekender" portion. It's an excellent Sunday paper to say the very least and they have one of the best magazines.
...

I live in San Francisco but subscribe to the New York Time because of the quality of the writing, the coverage of international issus and the strong literary sections. As more and more newspapers slice budgets, cutting out editorial, international and literary coverage in favor of wire coverage, the NYT is consistently good. I always look forward to T, the magazine that is published frequently. This magazine is based around a different theme each time, past themes include Fall Fashion, gifts, men's fashion, home design, travel. The weekly magazine is very interesting as well and covers a variety of serious and fluffy topics. The photography is always fantastic, the New York Times uses top rate photographers and writers.

Check out the New York Times website for great introductory deals and then call and ask them to extend those deals for a longer period once your subscription is almost up.

The delivery service is excellent, throughout six months of using the service, it was delivered on...
...

I adore the NY Times, and not just because of its fiendishly difficult crosswords.

Of course you can get all the latest world and national news, but the paper also has interesting science and style coverage -- it's as good for the fluff-reading crowd as it is for the serious-minded. I sometimes think of this as the NY Times's secret super power: it makes you look smart to read it, but it's actually a lot of fun!

The online version also has cool audio slideshows.
...

I always start my day with reading the newspaper, but I hate reading the entire issue and not having any good news or not really learning anything. New York Times is the best newspaper I have found because they cover stories from all over, and you will find all the information you need. They thoroughly cover the topics and offer great information on the latest events. I love the lifestyle section that offers reviews of books, movies, tv and a great crossword each day. They offer a great sports section and financial quotes and business news. This is a great newspaper to splurge on to read with your morning coffee and you will surely learn something new from each edition....

Matt says "The New York Times is the best newspaper - period, hands down" about The New York Times

I have been reading The New York Times my whole life. Along the way I supplemmented it with The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, Chicago Sun Times, The Chicago Tribune and The Wall Street Journal. Today, I still subscribe to the last three. However, I believe that the The New York Times has the best writing of any other paper I have read. The Wall Street Journal, The LA Times and The Washington Post are the next best in my opinion.

The strength of The New York Times is their International reporting. I don't read the sports section but I know that it is considered weak. I particularly enjoy The New York TImes Magazine on Sundays. The business section is very good, but not quite a replacement for The Wall Street Journal.

However, all that said, if you forced me to choose one source for my news, it would be The New York Times. Their web site is also the best of all the others. If you are a fan of the gray lady, you should also try out The New York Times Reader. It is...
...

I don't have a lot of time so I pick and choose what stories or magazines I take the time to read. The New York Times is the best for indepth coverage and their Science section on Tuesday is a must read cover to cover. When we travel, I always look to the New York Times for national news. While I like USA Today for entertainment news anmd weather while traveling, the Times is a paper to read or to spend as much time with as you can....

This has got to be the worst newspaper in America. With a diminishing readership (less than a million) it is amazing people even still refer to it at all. It is completely out of touch with the American people. The articles are totally slanted towards a very liberal political point of veiw. Can't wait until it goes out of print.
...

What would a day be without the New York Times? Even if you forgo the news itself, there's books, theater, film, art, dance, music, food, travel and more. A great, world class newspaper that should be available to every high school student in America. Each day has a special section devoted to one special topic. Wednesday is Food and there are always great recipes as well as wine and restaurant reviews (mainly NYC restaurants, of course). Special culinary subjects are covered in depth and with great insight. Friday is a special entertainment section, with many film reviews (including many you may never get to see if you live in a small town like mine) which I like to jot down so I can add them to my netflix queue. Sundays are incredible, with a five pound whopper of a paper that is almost impossible to finish but great fun trying....
