I loved The Mummy and The Mummy Returns so when I heard about The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, I of course wanted to see it. I never made it to the theater to see it, but I did rent it tonight and I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

For those of you who haven't seen the first movies, well, you really don't have to. This one is pretty unrelated. It might ruin it for you only because you know that Brendon Fraser survived both movies, but I think that's pretty obvious if you know there's a third one :) Brendon Fraser DID survive, but he did not have the same moxy and attitude as the first two. It was almost like "alright, I guess we gotta do this" instead of him being excited to be in the adventure as he was before.

The second issue was his wife. My husband warned me at the beginning that the actress from the first two movies would not be returning for this one, booooo. Maria Bello played the wife instead and she did not fit. Rachel Weisz portrayed the wife...

The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor is thrilling, mindless brain candy. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but if you're cutting down on going to the movies because money's tight, you might want to spend your money on "The Dark Knight" instead. Lots of action, and Jet Li's a high point of the movie (plus there's yetis!). But Maria Bello and her awful British accent were a real distraction. Couldn't she have played Brendan Frasier's American sister instead of taking over Rachel Weisz's Evie character?...

The Mummy - Tomb of the Dragon Emperor was pretty good. It had alot of action packed sceens and the special effects were pretty good.

The plot reminds me alot of the Indiana Jones movies of the 80's. If you like those movies you will like this movie.

The Mummy was full of action, compelling, and funny. The Mummy kept me on the edge of my seat, and caused no surprise when it was ranked number one movie in the world. The actors' chemistry was perfect and it was an all around great movie and well worth watching. A Compelling Finale to a thrilling Trilogy....

The Mummy is the perfect movie for any age (except for kids). It has so many attributes of movies people these days want to watch, and with great actors like Brendan Fraser, you can know it's going to be a big hit! The special effects were just superb, and the creatures (e.g The Yeti, the Mummies, the Dragon) were jsut so realistic-looking! The Mummy has so many twists and turns, and even has the many twists of mature comedy woven into it. It was overall an outstanding movie....

2008 must be my lucky year, not just one, but two Brendan Fraser movies. Last month we had Journey to the Center of the Earth, and this month The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor, the third in The Mummy series. While I enjoy much of the movie, it was the dialogue that sometimes seem lacking, that and the way they aged the characters too quickly, similar to how they do on soap operas.

Fraser picks up again with the role of Rick O'Connell, who is now retired from the mummy-chasing business. Semi-retired is his wife, Evelyn (previously played by Rachel Weisz, but now by Maria Bello), who is writing The Mummy adventure novels, but she seems to be lacking inspiration without any real adventures to draw from. By the second movie they had gotten married and had an 8 year old child, Alex, and now this child is suddenly in college, despite the fact the character development doesn't quite lay out for that to work, and while technically Fraser and Bello are old enough, they just don't appear like......

Jet Li & Brandan Fraiser are good aversaries! Don't look for Rachel, of the 1st two Mummies, & the son is grown now, but you won't be disappointed! I was kept on the edge of my seat from beginning to end! Adult language but good family bonding....
