thank you First Years! The breatflow bottle is the only bottle my breastfeed baby will use! this is the best bottle on the market. I have tried EVERY bottle and bottle nipple on the market she wouldn't take them- pushed the nipples out wih her tongue. She immediately latched onto this nipple- the nipple is softer and conforms to her mouth. I was able to attend a wedding and leave her at home cause of these great bottles. This is an excellent bottle for breast feeding moms!
...

My friend bought me these bottles and i thought they looked like a boob. The baby was not going for it. I don't think she was convienced it was a boob or a bottle. She wouldnt eat like she would with a regular nipple. Also the m ilk gets stuck in 2 sections of this huge nipple! I mean this nipple is massive. As soon as you take the top off the bottle the milk that is stuck in the nipple gets all over the place. I wouldnt recommend this bottle! I recommend Evenflo purely comfi.
...

The First Years Breastflow BPA Free Starter Set were exactly what I was looking for. I really think these are the best bottles out there for breastfeeding moms and I have tried many different kinds. What I love about the Breastflow bottles is the fact this bottle has two nipples! That might sound strange but it actually works just like the breast does. Baby has to open her mouth wider to latch on and has to compress it very similarly to the breast.

These bottles helped me because I was able to see my daughter's latch and where I was going wrong breastfeeding. She also learned how to breastfeed properly using these bottles. With these bottles, baby controls the flow of milk. With many bottles, the milk just starts flowing out but not with the Breastflow bottles I have used these bottle with both of my children and love them! The only issue I had was the fact that if you take the lid off, you need to drain the milk out of the nipples back into the bottles or else you will get milk everywhere....
...

These bottles are incredible. I went back to work when my daughter was 2 months old. She was breast fed and wouldnt take any bottles. After hours of screaming someone would have to bring her to me! It was awful! I thought I had tried every bottle then I found these. She took it the first time! She even lets me give it to her! Thank you first years for making this bottle!
...

I purchased these bottles for my second son who is now my eighteen month old. They came in handy because I breast fed and I went right back to work after my six weeks were up. The nipples are structured like breasts. In other words when I was not breast feeding, my husband could use what I pumped along with these bottles and my son could get the same feeling as if he were being nursed. They are easy to assemble and wash. The only thing that I did not like was that the letters and numbers on the bottle start to disappear after a lot of use.
...

the Breastflow Learning Curve bottle is very good for those who are going back and forth from breast to bottle to reduce nipple confusion, the only thing i find troublesome is that many stores dont carry it any more so you have to go online to order it. babies r us only carries the nipples and i have tried a couple of wide neck bottle but they dont seem to fit the nipple right without causing leaking and if you get a different bottle chances are the top cover wont be the right fit.
...

This review is for "The First Years Soothie/Breastflow" bottle which costs between $6-$7 per bottle and worth every penny!. I began using this bottle a few days after coming home from the hospital with our child. I wanted to breastfeed as well as use a bottle, for convenience sake. This bottle allowed my husband or other family members to get in on the fun of feeding the baby without the worry of "nipple confusion". Nipple confusion can be an issue with the baby takes a bottle and then does not want to breastfeed because the bottle nipple is different or the flow (how fast the liquid comes out of the nipple) is too fast. This bottle eliminates that issue!

This bottle comes in 5 parts. This may sound complicted but it really is simple.

The first part is the plastic bottle itself, with easy to read ounce markings.

The next two parts are the double layer nipple. The outer nipple is shaped like a real breast nipple, but the inner nipple is elongated, fitting into the outer...
...

I am the new parent of twin girls born almost 4 weeks prematurely. I started breast feeding immediately in the hospital, but one of my daughters had glucose problems so had to spend several days in the ICU. They even bottle-fed the my other daughter to give me a "break". Needless to say that the hospital bottles were horrible and I had to re-teach my babies how to latch on after every bottle feeding. Since I found breast feeding both girls at every feeding to be impossible, I tried other bottle systems when I got home, but none turned out as well as these bottles. Now I can switch effortlessly between breast and bottle in the same feeding. They are also especially useful when calming a hysterical baby, and then switching to breast feeding a few seconds later. I don't think I'd still be breast feeding four months after their births without these bottles. However, as with anything else, your millage may vary.
...

I got the First Years Breastflow bottles because I intended to breastfeed and wanted a bottle that my baby could transition easily from breast to bottle with. I like the idea of the double nipple. My complaint with it is that my baby sucks the top, bigger nipple hard, and I have to keep opening and closing the bottle to get the nipple back right. I do not know if it's the bottles or just my baby, but she has hardly ever spit up when using these bottles. There are only two stages of nipples that I have found. The box says there are three, but I have not been able to find the stage three nipples in my area. I use the stage one for just formula, and I use the stage two when I put cereal in the formula. I put 2-3 tablespoons of cereal to 5 oz. of formula. It never clogs up, and it goes at a good pace. I have tried other cereal nipples, and they are just way too fast. I found all of the parts easy to clean. Oh, and my baby is 5 months old, if that matters. Been using them since she was a couple...
...

We started with Avent bottles and even with the slow-flow newborn nipple, it seemed the flow was too fast and he lost quite a bit of milk out of the side while eating. Because we are breastfeeding, we thought we would try the Breastflow bottles.

At first I thought "I could honestly take them or leave them." He seemed to be more burpy, the flow still seemed too fast (he still lost some out the sides), and I hated how the milk gathered in the nipple and you'd have to squeeze the sides to let the milk back down.

Then as we used them more, they became less strange and I actually liked them. I think they also REALLY helped lessen any nipple confusion he might have had--which I was VERY worried about! It was a bit annoying having two nipple pieces to clean, but it was only one extra piece and if it worked well, you do what you have to do, right?

We ended up stopping breastfeeding at about 8 weeks (although I still do breastmilk) and stopped using these at about 10 weeks - they were starting...
...

After trying out 4 different bottles without sucess, my breastfed baby finally took this one. She was only 6 weeks at the time and I had to get her used to nursing and bottle feeding. This bottle has been a life saver because she goes back and forth between breast and bottle without any problem. My little one is 5 months old now and loves her bottle. I nurse on the weekends when I'm home and pump and bottle feed during the week when I'm at work. She loves it! The only problem is that the only store I've found them at is Babies R Us and they have limited supply so I have a hard time finding replacement nipples.
...

I bought these because I planned on breastfeeding my son but needed an option when I returned to work. He latched onto these and the breast very easily. They did not cause confusion and the flow was not too strong like other bottles can be. Unfortunately we had to stop using these because I stopped breastfeeding and my son would suck at these so hard that he would suck in a lot of air and get gassy. With the next baby I plan to breastfeed for longer and will use these again. The only downside is that if you do not have the nipples lined up perfectly they can leak and make a mess....

The First Years Breastflow bottles are the best bottles to consider if you are breastfeeding. My husband and I tried 6 different types of bottles (which said they were as close to breastfeeding) and none of them worked. As a last attempted to get our daughter to take a bottle, we gave the breastflow bottles a try. Within the day, we had success. I highly recommend these bottles for those who are breastfeeding and need to bottle feed too. They are the most natural to breastfeeding and our baby latched right on without trouble. All of the other nipples tended to be hard and unnatural. The only down fall to this product is that it is not sold everywhere. I made an hour trip to purchase these in our area but it was well worth it. I will use breastflow bottles with our future children and will recommend them to friends....
