First time mom here and I'm breastfeeding and formula feeding my daughter and have done so since her 1st week. My daughter transitions easily from breast to bottle and we have not had any problems with nipple confusion or anything. I highly recommend these bottles.
...

cmbacci says "Wish it would have worked for me" about The First Years Breastflow Baby Bottle

This bottle is a great idea but it didn't work for us. My baby has been breastfed almost exclusively and we tried the breastflow bottle in our search for a bottle that he could eat from efficiently. It would take him 50 min to take in 4 ounces with this bottle where it would take him 10-15 min to breastfeed. So, I don't think it can be that much like breastfeeding. As a side note, we did end up finding another type of bottle that he was able to empty much faster (Gerber Nuk). Also, this bottle is more of a pain to clean than other bottles because of the extra part. Finally, it came with a storage lid but it doesn't fit under the nipple and nipple ring, so if I were to use this for daycare it would have been a pain to have to bring the nipple separate from the rest of the bottle.
...

The breastflow bottles are great. I was fed up with my baby always throwing up and having a hard time to burp. So I decided to change his bottles. I went to baby depot and saw these, I breastfeed and bottle fees and read that these are like giving breast so that was interesting to me, so my mom bought me the starter pack. My baby now doesnt throw up as much and burps great! Im going to buy more!
...

Breastflow bottles are so great for babies. It really is the closest bottle I have found to the breast. It's soft outer shell compresses when the baby sucks, and baby controls the flow. Great to use when switching back and forth between bottle and breast

I purchased a set of Breastflow bottles after attending a breastfeeding class. I was pregnant with my first child and overwhelmed with advice and opinions of relatives and friends. It seemed everyone was either 100% breastfeeding or 100% formula. Very few people I talked to had good things to say about pumping. I was determined to make it work therefore took the breastfeeding class. The instructor was a mother of three (two being twins) and she stressed that the success to bottle feeding with breastmilk was to find the right bottle. Out she pulled the Breast Flow bottle. I went home and immediately ordered a gift set off the internet. I preferred the gift set because it had two 5oz bottles and 2 9oz bottle, AS well as two set of nipples (two slow flow for newborns, and two medium flow for older babies). Following the instructor's advice, I pumped when she was two weeks old and had my husband feed her. She took to it right away! These bottles have never leaked, the...
...

just1more says "The Breastflow bottles are my favorite" about The First Years Breastflow Baby Bottle

I love the Breastflow bottles from The First Years! I got a small one for free when I made a large purchase at Motherhood Maternity when I was pregnant. I really liked the design so I went online to research more about them. I was impressed so I bought the starter kit before the baby arrived. The bottles come with 2 nipples kinda. You stack the regular nipple ontop of another and when the bottle is tipped milk pours inbetween the two giving it the feel of a breast. I intended on breastfeeding with occassional bottle use but that didn't work out for us. I was however able to pump all our sons milk and give it to him in these bottles. The starter kit comes with a bottle brush and its my favorite brush. Breastmilk is greasy and this brush was excellent in getting all the "residue" out of the bottles and nipples. There are different stages of nipples for slow and fast flow. The issue I had was that once hte milk ran in between the 2 nipples it stays there unless you squeeze it back down in...
...

momtoLK says "exclusively breastfed 9 m old refused all bottles, until this" about The First Years Breastflow Baby Bottle

I was going back to work and was desperate for a bottle my exclusively breastfed son would not reject. By "reject" I mean screaming, terrible fits. In the weeks leading up to daycare we had tried every bottle brand out there and finally compromised by using a sippy cup. So, at 9 months old, my no-bottle-yet son started full time daycare. We brought his little sippy cups that he would slowly drink expressed milk from (but still, he was pretty much exclusively breastfed), and hoped for the best. But after 1 week the teachers were frustrated and concerned and suggested we retry the bottle.

In total desperation, I bought the 1st Years Breastflow bottle. He loved it from the start. This bottle was a true lifesaver! I emphasize that he had strongly rejected at least 7 other brands of bottles before we tried the Breastflow by 1st Years; it was finally the one he would take. Additionally, his very experienced, loving daycare teachers thought this bottle was one of the best they had ever...
...

klkasoff says "Baby knows best and baby says breast(flow)" about The First Years Breastflow Baby Bottle

I was set on breastfeeding which I managed to do untli my daughter was 5 months. At this point she had weened herself. However, at three months it was time to start bottle feeding as I had troube producing enough from the pump and my work schedule did not realistically allow for adequate breastfeeding. The times we spend together I would nurse and at school she would get formula. This was a difficult journey as she was not too keen on the idea of a bottle. I tried many different priced and styled bottles from dollar store brand to very high end, preemie nipples to slanted tips. Finally, I found the Breastflow by The Early Years. She was hooked and I'm a little nervous to admit still at 23 months drinking from her Breastflows (only at sleepy times though, now)!

There are two sizes, 5 and 9 ounces. The nipple is a unique shape and it is actually made up of two nipples, one inserted within the other. This gives baby control of the amount that is released and replicates...
...
