I have always been a big Batman fan and I could not have been happier with the latest installment to the Batman Franchise, The Dark Knight. I feel that every aspect of this film was handled with the utmost attention to detail and professionalism. Christian Bale emboddies the Batman/Bruce Wayne persona with the respect that it so greatly deserves. The late Heath Ledger does more with the Joker and his reality than most people are able to imagine. Addtionally, Michael Caine, in my mind, was the perfect cast for this role. His compassion, coupled with his wisdom, fit the character to the T. The entire cast does an amazing job of smoothly yet intelligently embracing their roles. In addition to the cast of characters, Director Christopher Nolan spared no expense in creating a believable, dark and intimidating setting for this film. The production quality clearly sets the bar for future successful comic book adaptations. Lastly, Nolan and his cast make a clear effort to honor the true nature...

The Dark Knight brought Heath Ledger's acting into a whole new place, Christian Bale is brilliant as the Caped Crusader that no one else will ever touch. The action starts from the beginning and never drops to the very end. A must-have for ever DVD collector.

Given the prominence of The Joker in the Batman mythos - he has been the Caped Crusader's archnemesis since 1940, after all - it isn't surprising that once Christopher Nolan and David S. Goyer had done the "origins of..." exposition in Batman Begins, the original "killer clown" would be the Villain of the Day in The Dark Knight. Fans would have walked out of any sequel to the 2005 franchise-rebooter had Nolan decided to feature Mr. Freeze or Poison Ivy, especially if they had paid attention to the ending of Batman Begins, but The Joker is to Batman what Lex Luthor is to Superman - the ultimate in moral and psychological mirror images.

2008's The Dark Knight is a direct continuation of the storyline from Batman Begins, with Bruce Wayne/Batman continuing his idealistic crusade to avenge his parents' murder by fighting crime in Gotham City.

I had high expectations and Dark Knight delivered-- and then some. Heath Ledger was fantastic as the joker and the highlight of the fill. I am sure his family was so proud to see him pull off such an amazing on screen performance. The rest of the cast was excellent as well, but the Joker definitely stole the show. (not only with the acting performance but with the plot line) Batman had me tense the whole time and there wasnt a moment of dullness. The movie was action packed from "go".... like a thrill ride.

The only downside to the movie is that it is a little long and I wished they did a little more character development. But, all in all, Batman was a great movie and a must see summer action film. And, if you can go see it on the Imax- I hear you should! it was just the best movie enver done about batman and it had a great ending plus one of thee main characters is done by an acto that can;t act anymore

The Dark Knight was one of those movies that I really didn't have high hopes for. I really didn't like all of the other movies and that this was going to be the same. Well, lets just say that it took me by surprise. This movies was great. The storyline fitvery well, the characters were great. Heath Ledger did a great job, probably one of his greatest ever. The action was amazing. Every minute it kept you on your toes wanting more. The ending also left you wondering what happens next, whats the next plot going to be. Will there be another Batman movie coming in the future?

The batman weapons were awesome. like the bike he uses.

or his car. also heath ledger was good it's sad though

that he died. i've heard that he died when only 15-30 minutes were left in the making of the

movie. they used people who looked like him to do the rest of his part. all i can say now is i salute to you mr. ledger the best joker(villian) i have seen

You can't get much better than this. I've seen all the Batman movies and this one by far stole the show. Maybe it was the acting skills of Christian Bale and the late Heath Ledger. Maybe it was the fact that the writer just had the perfect story, or possibly it was a combination, but either way you put it this movie was a grand slam. I haven't met anyone yet who has seen this movie and not liked it and if they said they did I would have to say they are completely and totally nuts! Combine great acting, with great writing, music, and producing; add wonderful special effects and terrific directing and what do you get? You get "Dark Knight". Two thumbs up and if I had more thumbs they would get those as well! ...

The Dark Night was one of the best that I have seen in a long time. Health Ledger gives the performace of his lifetime in this flick. I loved every minute of it! I would highly recommend it to anyone who is a Batman fan. The storyline is one of the best that I have seen in any of the Batman movies. Christian Bale is hot in this movie, but he does act very well also. Only one part that I didn't like, and I don't want to ruin it for anyone, so I will just keep that to myself. 3 thumbs up!...

What else is there to say.....GREAT MOVIE! This was one of the best batman movies ever if not THE BEST. Heath Ledger did as excellent job playing joker which is one of my favorite characters in the movie. Lots of action to keep your attention into the movie and not too much for the little ones to watch either. I hope this movie gets all of the awards that it deserves, and more. So many movies get recognition for absolutely nothing and critics can be totally wrong when it comes to rating best pictures. This is definitely a must see and a movie to add to your collection at home. 10/10...

As a Batman fan from birth I am biased when it comes to The Dark Knight. BUT These latest additions to the Batman library (Batman Begins & The Dark Knight) stand out from the crowd, they even beat out Tim Burton's classics. Christian Bale makes the Dark Knight seem more human than ever, although his Bat voice is a bit exasperating. Heath Ledger IS the Joker. He made that character more tangible than ever. This film is up there with the Godfather in terms of character development. You know who every one is and you feel for all of them. After watching you feel like part of you is The Dark Knight, but there is still another part of you that is The Joker.

To commemorate this film and Heath's amazing performance I got the Batman logo tattooed on my wrist.

I thought The Dark Knight movie was great. It was long and there were several scenes I thought was the ending but the movie was excellent. I loved the joker and of course Bruce was hot!!...

Although not normally a Batman fan and tend to shy away from overly hyped films, I greatly enjoyed The Dark Knight. Granted, I mainly rented the DVD originally because my partner also wanted to see it. Interestingly enough she found it too dark for her taste--which I thought would have been obvious from the trailers. I, on the other hand, enjoy darker movies, which is probably one reason why I enjoyed the movie.

I also have to side with the masses and agree that the much-hyped Heath Ledger's Joker was fantastic (and yes, I do like psychopathic and freaky characters). I enjoyed Ledger's performance most out of all the actors. Very over the top, and I gotta say I loved the nurse get-up. I think this might be the only Heath Ledger movie I've seen, and I was very impressed by his performance.

While I love Gary Oldman, the police commissioner was more of a straight guy here so not too interesting here but still a strong performance. The only character I actually found...
