scredit says "motivation.. here it comes" about The Biggest Loser

NBC's the biggest loser is one of the best shows I have ever see. This show is very motivational for people who are trying to loose weight and for people who dont think they are strong enough to change there own life. Life starts right then and people realize that and it is so nice to see how these people change over time. They really do become a family and that helps them really work togehter for the common goal. There were some people who have been on the show that I dont think deserved to be there but there have really been some inspiring people on there that really inspired me to be a better person. I am very impressed with the job Ali Sweeney does as the host. She has so much on her plate right now and she manages to get it all down and do a great job with it. I thinik she is one of the best host ever. she has that nice way about talking to people that makes her great for this show. The things I love about this show is the connection the trainers especially Bob makes with his people....
...

auntcathy says "motivate yourself watching the Biggest Loser" about The Biggest Loser

My favorite reality competition show has become the Biggest Loser. Having been on for several seasons I just recently became a faithful viewer. It is always up against American Idol and Dancing with the Stars so I never opted to watch it. Since I tuned in I've become addicted. My favorite part of the show is the weigh in where some of the contestants drop unbelievable amounts of weight in as short of a time as one week. I enjoy watching them endure the unbearable workouts that trainers Jillian and Bob put the contestants through every week. Some of the results of the participants are just so outrageous they look great at the finale. As if they never had a weight problem at all! Even in better shape than the majority of most people. The show is very motivating and emotive to see what the contestants put themselves through in order to reach their goal. I share the emotions as they pursue their weight loss goal and healthy lifestyles.
...

pitcherday says "I hate this show, and I think it's dangerous." about The Biggest Loser

I watched the first two seasons of The Biggest Loser. I found it to be inspiring. I got bored though. You get morbidly obese people together, make them live in close quarters, make them exercise until they vomit, after vomiting exercise more, put them on a diet that is unsustainable in the real world, tempt them, get them to run each other down, and vote people off. The scenery changes but the story stays the same.

Every season, new people, similar challenges, someone wins. They claim it's under doctor's supervision and it's safe. I don't think it's true. In no way is it healthy to lose 20 or more pounds in a week. I saw an episode where the first challenge, right after they arrived was to complete a one-mile course uphill next to the beach. This was before they even had one session with a trainer. One woman collapsed 100 feet from the finish line, was urged by EMT's on the scene to stop, and she dragged herself on her elbows across the finish line. She then became non-responsive and had...
...

CyndiA says "Biggest Loser - Is life really a game? I sure hope not. " about The Biggest Loser

Yes. I get it. You get some really overweight people together and put them on TV and call it The Biggest Loser. The winner is, of course, the person who makes the biggest lifestyle changes or plays the game the best. Toss the coin.

We have weight issues in this country. That is no secret. The Biggest Loser is not about those who are suffering from anorexia or bulimia and looked on more favorably even if those choices are not good either. It's about fat people. They are the big butt of jokes and not given any slack. Fat is not where it's at, and being overweight is considered a personal shortcoming.

In the United States, we have WIC programs to provide food for low income pregnant women and for mothers and children and include whole milk and cheddar cheese and so on. And, we hand out food stamps for the poor who can stretch the dollars by buying cheap but unhealthy food. That's just a fact. Healthy food costs more. But, people will snear at welfare families who buy high calorie foods to...
...

This show has really inspired me to get off the couch and lose some weight. I figure if these people who are truly obese can get in the gym and work out for up to 8 hours a day, I can do it too! I really love Bob. He is super sweet and you can tell he really cares about those he is training.
...

I used to love watching the Biggest Loser. But starting last seaso they seem to give more attention and screen time to those who cause drama or trouble and focus less on the inspiring relationships and accomplishments. Also the product placements are getting a little ridiculous and frequent. They need to cut back on that, it is getting to the point where it is unnatural and makes the show seems too staged. ...

The Biggest Loser is a great motivator to work off weight, and a good way to make those not so hendered by weight issues aware of what a struggle it can be for the obese population ever growing in today's society. You really get to know the contestants and begin rooting for them all, even when they're up against your favorites.

On the downside, the show really should be about an hour. The commercial breaks are rediculous, especially around the weigh-ins and the voting and the end. When coming back from a commercial, they NEVER pick-up at the point where they left off buy roll back the footage to the point of absolute annoyance. A good 20 minutes of useless replay footage could be cut. And the shameless product promotion plugs are rediculous. It's not Texaco Television in the 50's already. Make it an hour, loose the impromptu promos, and cut out the 'suspense' replays and the show would be perfect.
...

This is one show that is definitely must see for me. I am always planning ahead to make sure that I get to see this show. Just something about it that drags me in week after week. I am so excited that there is going to be another "shortened version" this year with couples in January so not too much time between :) I found it odd that the "outcasts" that no one wanted in the beginning ended up being the strongest and completely eliminated the other 2 teams. Sweet revenge perhaps? I think it's a great show and hope it continues....

The Biggest Loser is a great show. I like the fact that it's not just your average reality show. In the end, the contestants come away with more than just a huge prize or money--they get their lives back. I like seeing how the contestants come in then how they are after they left the show. Sometimes I do not like the reality show aspect since someone has to get voted off each week. And sometimes I do not think the contestants are ready for that. I think they could use more time with the trainers, more time learning what they need to do to get their lives back....

I love this show. It is so inspiring and positive. I just wish people were voted off for othere reasons than something personal. I think this season, they have dragged out the voting process way too long. I also wish they would change the screen when doing the weigh-in to show their beginning weight (currently it is only stated), weight last weigh-in and the new weight.

I like that they follow-up with the contestants.

I love Jillian and Bob, the new girl can go.
...
