The TI-84 Plus calculator has gotten me through many high school and college math classes. It is so easy to use even if you are not that great with technology. I love that you can do multiple problems on the screen and keep the answers for at least a couple of math problems so that you can have the numbers if you need them again. I also love that you can download games on to the calculator in case you are ever bored and stranded with only your graphing calculator. This model is ideal for statistics as it is so easy to use. Great for everyday math like budgeting as well because you can add so many things at once. Also love that you can plug in a math problem with multiple steps as long as you know all the numbers to it and the calculator will do all the order of operations steps for you. This truly is a great calculator and Texas Instruments is a great company to buy from. If you are looking for a great calculator for you or a child who is a student, seriously consider this. I would be...
...

The calc is extremly useful and easy to use TI-84 PLUS. During my high school career this calc is all i used and now in college i am using it and i prefer it over the 89. It actually sucks that i have to learn the 89 because it is not as awesome. The TI 84 PLUS is not only easy to use, but the buttons are big so that you can see where everything is and you if you use it long enough then you are for sure able to memorize everything. The calc is important for high school because you are allowed to use it on the ACT and on AP exams.
...

Now the greatness of the calculator will often go unappreciated by the new generations whom have always had them available, but the graphing calculator goes above and beyond the basics and will often be unappreciated by those whom do not understand mathematics and all the wonderful things this calculator can do.

When it comes to buying a good calculator, then Texas Instruments are the standard to which others are held up to. Some will buy a Hewett Packard, but they are not as user friendly and school friendly as the Texas Instrument products. For a mathematician the Texas Instrument 84 is a bare necessity's for doing your work. I would really recommended this calculator for anyone who needs to take calculus, however if you need to take things beyond calculus such as differential equations then I would definitely recommend upgrading to the Texas instrument 89.

If your college or school offers it, I would also recommend taking a class on just how to use this calculator and all the great...
...

I used this calculator in my AP calc class and it was perfect! It helped me understand calculus by graphing everything! It took the complex mathematical graphs and made them into an understandable, visual aid to understanding the class that I was weakest in. It was fantastic! It has these sick functions and you can even program it to calculate the quadratic equation. Also, from what I remember, it has this game called “block boy” in it, which is handy for whiling away a math class. But overall this calculator is durable – very important. Comes with a cover and so the screen and buttons and everything manage to stay in great condition. The battery life is long, the calculator is great. Fast working and effective. Be careful though – these things aren’t cheap and people at my old high school were known to have their’s stolen. Because it does so much, it is pretty enormous in terms of a handheld calculator, which is something to be aware of. If you have a space problem in your...
...

I have owned the TI 82 and TI 83S Silver Plus before this. TheTI 84 is another wonderful product from Texas Instruments for the student in high School or College student. Any complaints about speed is irrelevant. I personally found the TI 84 very easy to read, fast, nice case-I like it better the TI 83 Silver case-and it included some programs that were not on the TI 83. It is supposed to have other stuff that the TI 83 did not have but I did not notice this. This is because I bought it to assist me in Algebra, trig and etc. For the money it is a great investment and a very useful tool. I will say that one area I noticed a great difference in was viewing the window. For me, (and I wear bi-focals) the TI 84 was noticeable in its clearer image and etc. Hope this is helpfu.
...

The TI-84 Plus is a great graphing calculator. Compared to the TI 83, the 84 Plus is an all-around improvement and well worth the extra $15-$20. Another plus is that the calc is also extremely easy to hook up to your computer to transfer Apps and updates using the included USB cable.

Just one con: The rubber on the cover and on the back that are supposed to be for giving the calc grip when resting on a table fall out very easily

I have used this calc for over four years and besides that one aesthetic glich, have not found only problems with it....

The only reason that I ever would consider buying a calculator that is $100+ would be if I absolutley needed it for school, which I do. This calculator is very pricy compared to your other $20 scientific calculators. Although, the TI 84+ is a very highly technological calculator, if you will. It runs very smoothly, I haven't had any problems with mine, and it comes with a manuel if ever questions arise. I really haven't noticed a difference between the 83 and 84 calclulators but then I never really need it for other than graphing, so I'm sure there is.
...
