mrconceited says "Any way you slice it, its light years ahead of T3!" about Terminator Salvation

I've been waiting for this movie for a while, what with the awesome trailer, my interest in the franchise as a whole, the announcement of Christian Bale as John Connor and the fact that they brought in so many talented writers to help make it. I wasn't enthralled with McG-any grown man that goes by McG and expects to be taken seriously professionally is asking for it (of course my screenname is mrconceited, so I digress), but I was willing to admit that he does have a flare for great visuals and action. The reviews had not been great but I decided to see it on opening day anyways and I was not disappointed.

The last film, T3: Rise of the Machines, was to me anyways, a non-movie in regards to the franchise. It basically stopped the Terminator story dead in its tracks and didn't advance the mythos at all- nothing new happened in the story, nothing was changed and it didn't really offer anything that say, Charlie's Angels, didn't do better ;)... It was a great action film, yes,...
...

butterfly4kathy2 says "Can't go wrong with Christian Bale " about Terminator Salvation

I personally loved this movie. The action was awesome and the story line, while a bit cheesy and predictable, was great. These movies are all basically alike, but adding Christian Bale was a good call. I thought everyone in the movie did a great job. The action scenes were great and had me flinching in my seat. I was even surprised to see that Arnold made an apperance. I am sure that there is going to be another one in the works soon, and as long as they have hot stars in it like this one did.. I will be the first one in line to see it. Anyone thinking about seeing it totally should
...

NubtheSquirrel says "Better than T3 to be certain" about Terminator Salvation

Terminator Salvation is action packed, filled with tense drama, and some incredible effects. Too bad it ultimately feels somewhat hollow. All me to explain. I liked Terminator Salvation. I enjoyed it much more than the disasterous T3. I thought Christian Bale, Sam Worthington, and Anton Yelchin all delivered performances that really made the movie soar. That said, it felt like ground that we have tread upon in better films. It felt like the producers found the director they could find as the lowest bidder and went with him.

McG is not a bad director. However he does stand at a level of mediocrity that really makes you wish he could do more. The movie was missing an emotional core. If you are going to put fantastic actors together in the movie, give them some really great scenes to work and flex their acting muscles in. I don't mean just the three leads. I also mean Bryce Dallas Howard and Helena Bonham Carter who are wonderful actresses in their own right and they are......

njangel says "Terminator Salvation offers nothing" about Terminator Salvation

Some friends and I headed over to the AMC in Hamilton as we try to do every Friday morning to get the cheaper price ($6). Today, our pick was Terminator Salvation. My one friend was really excited to see it, the other and I were curious how it was going to play out.

Yeah this movie is jam packed with big explosions, but it is also full of the cheesy lines were remember from the first three movies, "I'll be back." There was no explanation, no salvation, no real action. The storyline was weak and held a whole lot of inconsistancies. Thank God it was only an hour and fifty four minutes, because we all wanted to fall asleep.

Christian Bale was his usual brooding self, it was hard to tell between his batman character and his John Connor character. The kid who plays Chechov in the Star Trek movies was also in this playing no other than Kyle Reese, he was pretty good. Star Trek was a million times better and if you are in the mood for a sci-fi action flick, see that one again and again because...
...
