A few years ago my fiance and I bought this as our first investment together. it's a little pricey, but we both have back problems. For the most part it helps with the day to day back pain. You never have to flip a Tempurpedic mattress, although i prefer to "just because". The bed is comfortable and you really can't feel someone else moving on the bed. While shopping, the salesman did the "pen test" and put a pen underneath me and i didn't even feel it! But i sure could under a normal spring mattress! Both my fiance and I have allergies and the Tempurpedic mattress is made up of a non-allergenic material so that is a plus. It also has a great warranty. We have a cat who has gotten sick on the bed and the material cleans up fairly well with water and resolve so no complaints there. The chief complaints would be that it is expensive and that it's heavy therefore difficult for just one person to move on their own. The other problem that I have is that the foundation (box spring) didn't last...
...

When we go on vacation, the first thing we do when we get back is lay on our mattress and say "I'm glad to be back home to our bed!" We've been really pleased, and it has helped with my hip pain, allowing me to sleep without having to roll over several times a night....

My tempurpedic mattress is the best investment I've ever made. No longer do I wake up in the morning with a sore back or neck. It came with 2 of their pillows which never lose their shape. There is no more tossing and turning trying to find a comfortable spot and it allows me to sleep comfortably thru the whole night.
...

chococherrychip says "Got back pain? Look no further!" about Tempurpedic Classic Mattress

Plain and simple, if you have back, leg, or foot pain, the Tempurpedic mattress is for you. You will notice feeling better after the very first night. I have chronic back pain and my husband has chronic shoulder pain. This mattress saved us! We now can get out of bed without hunching over and limping. This bed helped us with sciatica and plantar fasciitis as well.

I have never experienced feeling overly warm during the summer but I do have to mention that we once lost our power during a storm one winter and our bed turned into a solid block. It was very strange, but how often does your house go below 40 degrees?

Also, the price may be higher than most mattresses, but it is definitely worth it. We stopped thinking about the cost of it after the first night. The mattress is a bit heavier than traditional mattresses (we have a king) but one person can move it no problem. Remember, there's no need to flip it!

We will always have a Tempurpedic mattress!
...

I have the classic tempurpedic mattress with adjustable box spring. The head and feet can be raised or lowered and there are several different massage settings. This bed is wonderful. It took me about 1 1/2 months to get used to it. I thought I was hating it, but I couldn't live w/o it now. I wake up with no hip, back or shoulder pain. Have had it for 2 years and the memory foam is like new and you get no movement from another sleeper. No more tossing and turning. The metal bar that secures the mattress to the adjustable base is irritating if you sit on it.
...

Luv2Sleep says "Almost 7 years; still looks and sleeps as new!" about Tempurpedic Classic Mattress

I purchased my Tempurpedic Classic almost 7 years ago. Today it still sleeps and looks like new. To look at the mattress you would think it had not been slept in. From the moment I laid on this bed (even though initially it was quite firm), my body just relaxed from head to toe. I previously had a McRoskey AirFlex which sucked the heat from my body (even if I piled on tons of covers I was always cold) and would wake-up with lower back pain because (like any innerspring mattress I have ever slept on) sags just enough in hip area to cause discomfort. I don't understand people saying the Tempurpedic sleeps hot. Granted I only have to use a light blanket or just a top sheet, but the mattress warms up to a comfortable temperature, takes on a wonderful suppleness and supports every inch of your body, totally relaxing. I will never sleep on anything else!
...

joferder says "Tempurpedic mattresses aren't for everyone." about Tempurpedic Classic Mattress

I have had a Tempurpedic mattress for about 4 years now and I enjoy it. It was a tad expensive but the fact that it has a twenty year warranty on it makes it more worth it. An issue that some may have with it is that the mattress starts out a little stiff when you first purchase it. The other problem that I ran into is that my fiance isn't a big fan of the mattress. She says that it is just a little more firm than she would prefer but it isn't such a big problem that she is demanding that we get rid of the mattress when we are married.

If you are looking at this mattress just keep in mind that it's not for everyone. I would suggest going to a store to try it out. You can get the information packet from the company but it doesn't really give you the ability to try the mattress. When you find a store that carries it make sure that you give yourself plenty of time to lay on the mattress and really let your body tell you what it thinks. When it comes to mattresses, the...
...

Temperpedic mattress...

Tried it for the 1st time at a chain motel. When first sitting on it, it felt only slighter softer than a rock.

Since I was more-or-less committed to staying in this room at this facility, I had no choice but to sleep on this bed.

Surprisingly, (more, shockingly, I should say) it didn't take long before a comfortable feeling started to seep in my back and shoulders. It couldn't have been much longer that I fell asleep. Then, I actually slept through the night.....that never happens at home.

I like this bed. It's much better than a regular mattress. Can't wait til the one I ordered arrives.

I got the Tempurpedic mattress when I was five months pregnant. Before that I had just a regular mattress that we all have because it's cheap. The mattress forms to you no matter how you lay. When your that far along the left side is the only comfortable thing. Then your arm goes numb on a regular mattress. On the Tempurpedic Mattress your arm does not go numb, your back does not hurt in the morning, LIFE IS GREAT! I have now had the mattress for three years. It stays super clean, does not "break in", and still forms to you. It has a ten year warranty. Now that I am not pregnant, I am not so sure about it though. It gets very hot and holds heat like crazy. It forms to my body but, I must sleep in a funny way because I wake up with my back and neck hurting like crazy. I love all the medical research that is behind this bed. The researchers have proven that the foam is healthier than a typical metal mattress. The metal lets off toxic fumes through out the life of the mattress as your sleeping....
...

I have the 10 inch tempurpedic and am amazed that this product has so many good reviews. I really dislike this mattress. Although we keep our A/C at 72 degrees the mattress gets so hot I toss and turn all night moving across the king sized mattress to escape. My husband? Well he moves to the coil spring in the guest room. Also the mattress smells really bad when you first get it; this takes many months to decrease. As for comfort, the bed sinks so that your shoulders feel dislocated (I'm a side sleeper) and your back moves into an unnatural position. Ironically I hear the salespeople talk about the thicker mattresses having better airflow!! Rubbish! It's just a thicker piece of heat retaining foam.

Don't but this mattress unless you've slept on one for several nights in temperatures you live at. Then decide if it's for you.
...

My husband and I purchased the Classic model and have been sleeping on it for the last 3 weeks. It would probably be more comfortable to sleep on the floor. We knew it was going to be firm, but it is significantly firmer than the store model. We even walked on it for 45 minutes the day it arrived, and its not a temperature issue either. We live in Texas and keep our house around 75 degrees in the summer. I'm really concerned for this winter when it gets colder and the bed tends to be more firm. At first I considered it was a weight issue, my husband liked the bed the first week and he weighs about 70 lbs more than me, so I thought maybe I just didn't weigh enough to get the full benefit of the bed. We really agonized over which bed to buy, whether we were going to choose a Tempurpedic or a latex bed, and now I'm regretting out purchase. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to make this bed softer? The only thing between us and the mattress is a fitted sheet, as is...
...
