We heard all the rave reviews and were taken in. So we bought our $3000 king size tempur-pedic mattress and now my husband sleeps in the spare room and I get up several times a night to ease the back ache.

First there was the noxious head-ache inducing smell that we lived with for several months. I don't know how to describe it; maybe carpet glue or something along those lines.

Then there is the heat generated by the mattress; living in a hot climate I end up perspiring heavily in this bed because it retains heat. I have to move frequently just to cool down.

Then there is the discomfort; I hoped my upper back pain would get some relief but no. I get up several times a night and move around to try and relieve the stiffness in my back.

We are both side sleepers. My husband complains the bed disconnects his shoulder when he lies on his side. I end up lying on several pillows to try to align my spine more comfortably.

I wish we could have tried this bed out beforehand. After 1 night...

The Tempurpedic 10 inch mattress makes my back hurt worse than it ever had before. I hate it's hardness and it is very uncomfortable. I wish we bought something else. I slept much better and more comfortably on our old spring mattress. Now I hurt just trying to get out of bed in the morning....

I love my tempurpedic 10 inch matress. Whenever I go on a trip, I look forward to coming home to my comfortable bed! It was well worth what we paid, and I would gladly pay even more. I have no more back pain or a stiff neck. A good night's sleep is priceless, it was definitely the best investment we ever made. My nephew says it feels like "heaven". I think it just feels like there is no stress on any part of your body. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a consistent good rest....

This matteress is wonderful. It sleeps great. When my wife rolls over or gets up at night, I NEVER get woken up by her movement. I never wake her up either. This matteress is the best money I have ever spent. Get one for yourself....

This mattress was a little too hard and it is very hard to turn over. It made my back hurt and I ended up having to put my old mattress back on the bed. I probably would not buy another mattrees like this one. If you like a hard mattress this you will like this one....

After sleeping on a firm mattress for many years as I got older approximatly 40 I started to wake up with my arms and legs numb and achey!

I was only comfortable sleeping on my back!

Since sleeping on the temperpedic mattress I wake up less,without numbness or aches and can sleep comfortably in any position.

There are several thicknesses (I believe 5) to chose from my choice was the 10" which I found to have the right balance of firm & soft !

I would recomend this brand to anyone,but suggest going to a retail store that carries several models to see which level of firmness will suit you.

PS: Most stores will steer you to other brands of foam mattresses (I think the have a higher profit margin)

Its the most comfortable mattress i ever had, i had back pain so i bought this new mattress and it helped me a lot.The mattress is so comfortable. There is no pressure on my back at all. I've had hip injuries and it is about time I sleep in comfort. Tempur-Pedic isn't for everyone which is why you are told to sleep on the bed for at least a month before calling to have it returned. I never experienced any need to get used to the mattress...

i've attempted to purchased a tempurpetic bed for a while, but have never been able to find one that i can afford. it seems to never go on sale! in my opinion, the makers are realling over charging. i think if they were to lower the costs, more people will buy them....

Tempurpedic is true to its ads as far as comfort goes. The mattress takes a little gettin used to, but then there is nothing like it. One wakes up without pain and feeling refreshed. The foam can be a problem. It doesn't breathe so one sometimes wakes up very warm. The cover one sees in the ads can be removed for washing and often NEEDS to be removed because it stretches and washing is the only way to get it back in shape. What one doesn't see is that underneath that cover the foam is sewn into an unbleached cotton cover sloppily put together. This also stretches and nothing can be done to remove and wash it back into shape because the mattress is too heavy. Will this shorten the life of a pricey product?
