Buying 'green products' is very popular today. Many people want household cleaners that work, but do not harm the environment. The bad news is many of the new green products cost a lot. But the good news is that some old-time, natural products that are inexpensive and can help keep your home looking bright, clean, and healthy. Borax is one of those products.

Sold under the named 20 Mule Team Borax, this product is made of the naturally occurring mineral called boron. It is not harmful to water systems, and does not contain phosphates or chlorine. Although it's a granular powder, Borax quickly dissolves in water.

I use 20 Mule Team Borax to provide some extra boost to my laundry, mostly when washing stained dark clothes or the sheets and blankets my dog sleeps on. It helps increase the cleaning abilities of laundry detergent and also removed odors.

Besides use in laundry, Borax can be used as a deodorizer, to clean delicate items like china, to softer water for hand washing, and...
...

A friend suggested I try Borax to help boost my laundry cleaning abilities. WOW I love it! Whether or not it actually helps clean them I have no idea but it's a safe product for the environment AND for my son! Also, it leaves the clothes a bit softer and they smell nice too, but not that fake perfumed chemical smell. It's also very useful if you make your own home made beauty products.
...

While in TX we have well water that's very hard and there must be other problems with it that cause my towels to smell sour as soon as they are finished washing. I didn't know what to do so I did some research on the Internet and found that this was supposed to help with hard water problems.

It's very reasonably priced and because it works so well with my towels I use it with everything. All my clothes come out smelling great and everything is so much cleaner.

During the potty training time with my daughters I was so worried the smell would stay on the clothes or stain them...not if I used Borax!

The other day my daughter had a friend spend the night, her friend wet the bed...I poured Borax over the spot after blotting it and let it sit there for a while to absorb odors and dry out the stain...worked great.

It has so many uses your bound to find one for you.
...

Borax 20 Mule Team is great to add with your normal detergent. 20 Mule Team® Borax is made of 100% Borax, a naturally occurring mineral composed of sodium, boron, oxygen and water. 20 Mule Team® Borax is not harmful to washing machines, plumbing or septic tanks and does not contain phosphates or chlorine. Got hard water? 20 Mule Team® Borax works great as a water conditioner, helping your detergent to work more effectively. Add ½ cup of 20 Mule Team® Borax along with your regular laundry detergent. You'll get clean, fresh smelling laundry. I also like to get a bowl of hot hot water and desolve a half cup of borax in it and I use it to clean my carpet, it works great!...
