I picked up a can of this formula one day when we had run out of the Enfamil Iron formula that we were using. I was a bit scared at first that it would be too different and that my daughter would reject it, but she happily drank her bottle.

The only downside to this product that I noticed was that the formula clumped a bit when mixing, so I'd have to do a lot of shaking and then put it through a strainer to get and dissolve the clumps. A little extra work, but worth the money saved.

For the first 6 months of my son's life I either nursed or used Enfamil, because that is what the hospital and the pediatrician told us to use.

I feel that I really didn't know any better. We got Enfamil coupons in the mail all the time and we would also get free samples.

I started to hear a lot of people were using the Target brand formula and have not had any problems with it. I did some research on it and found that it was half the price of Enfamil. It had the exact same ingredients. But for $12.99 vs. @24.99! I looked up the company that makes the Target brand formula and it is a very upstanding company with no problems (that I could find!)

My son took to it with no problems at all. We gave him the Target brand from when he was 6 months old until he was 13 months old. I will most definitely be giving this to our second child, without even considering Enfamil. Sometimes the most expensive doesn't always mean the best!
...

My doctor told me to try the store brand formula as it is cheaper and they are usually good at making the formula taste the same as the brand name. Not the case. The milk looked different, smelled funny (they all do, but worse than the others), and my child instantly noticed the difference. Had to throw the can away.
...

Target formula is awesome. it runs about 11.85 a can and is EXACTLY the same thing as Enfamil. Seriously look at the back of the can and you will see there is not one thing that is different from enfamil and it is also very similar to similac too. i switched my daughter to it from similac when she was 3 months old and she actually liked the taste of it better. I mean if you like to spend an extra 13.00 on formula then buy the brand, but i strongly recommend store brand.
...

My daughter is my first child and I did everything by the "book" she had the best formula and the best diapers, until I got laid off of work. In efforts to save money I shopped around. I found the target brand formula and compared it too the name brands. My daughter had to have the gentleease formula, I seen the ratings on the target can to compare but just to be sure I picked up the name brand and double compared them. I bought one can to see how she would handle the formula and it was perfect! I actually liked the target brand better because it was more fine and easier to mix during the shaking process. She never noticed the difference between the two and I couldnt have been more happy! The formula from name brand in my area is 25.00 a can and I bought the target brand for 14.00!!! What a savings!! I could buy two cans for what one can cost!! I continued to use this up until her first birthday and will use again with any of my future children!
...

Lisa1376 says "Great price almost exact same ingred's as Similac" about Target Milk Based Powder Infant Formula

So glad I found Target brand powder formula and had the sense to try it. It has almost exactly the same ingredients as Similac but half the price. I was using Similac because I got free samples and had coupons. When those ran out I couldn't afford it anylonger so I tried the traget brand no difference. Sometimes when I would get a Similac coupon I would purchase similac and mix them. My son did not know the difference and responded the same way. I can't believe I was spending so much money on the name brand powder formula becuase I thought it was better. I realized when I compared the ingredients that I was just paying for the name. I won't do that again. I know now to always check to see if there is a store brand of something before I go for the name brand. I have applied to many things in my shopping now. Especially now that my son is eating normal food, target has some good name brand foods too.
...

I gave my son Enfamil when I was done breastfeeding him. Once I ran out of coupons, it became tough to pay the price each time with the increasing needs of a growing baby. I compared the ingredients of Enfamil and Target brand infant formula and found that they were completely the same. I was impressed! I could give my child the nutrients of the brand name formula for only half the price.
...

My sweet girl is a target formula baby. She is now 18 months chatting non stop, started walking at 11 months and is PERFECT in our eyes. I was extremely disappointed when breastfeeding didn't work out, but quickly started researching formulas. As a RN/diabetes educator I am a label reader. IT was so ridiculous to pay $25/can with the same nutritional value for half the price! GO TARGET!
...

My son was just 6 months old when I had to suddenly wean him due to medications I needed to take. Until that time the free samples from the name brand formulas were filling the gaps between my pumped milk and his hunger. All of a sudden I was going to need a lot of formula, and my family didn't have a lot of extra money.

I went to Target to buy some name brand formula with a coupon I had, but quickly discovered that Target Brand Milk Based Formula was less expensive than the name brand even after the coupon. I bought the Target Brand, and never looked back.

My son loved the Target Brand Formula, he continued to develop and grow as expected, and my family's budget didn't suffer from name brand formula prices. Now that I have twins on the way, I know where to get the extra formula I'll need.
...

Target Brand Formula is a cheap and great alternative to the big name brands out there. Since all baby formulas have to be FDA regulated, you can rest easy knowing that it is the same as Enfamil or Similac. And in fact, the can even has the ingredients of Enfamil Formula listed side by side their own ingredients so you can see how similar they really are. Why spend $26 on a 25 ounce can of formula when you can spend less than half (about $12) and get the same thing?
...

After having my first baby I did not realize how much formula would impact my budget, needless to say I ran out of money and was down to my last $20, payday was no where in sight. I had to have a coupon to even afford the enfamil my baby was on. Went to target to pick it up and noticed they just came out with a low lactose version in the target brand (purple can equivilent to gentlease) and at the time it was only $13! I was seriously afraid to spend my last $20 on it and my baby not be able to eat it. So I grabbed the can and went to the customer service desk to see if I can return it if it doesn't work. The lady told me yes they guarentee their products and as long as I only used it for a couple of bottles, if I don't like it then I can return it for a refund. SOLD! I was even happier when I checked out and the cashier handed me a $1 off coupon for my next can! Almost half price and they still give me another $1 off! Now whenever I see a target brand equivilent I buy...
...

I am a mom strapped for cash and i was a litle worried about buying a target brand formula. I have bought other target brand products before and i have actually never found a target brand product food that i did not like. So i thought i would first compare the ingrediants to the other ingrediants on the cans that I use and it was the same. I then bought a can and asked my pediatrician if there was any reason that i should not try it or use it. She said that as long as my son liked the taste and tolerated it then there should be no reason to use it. It saves me a lot of money. OF course money isn't everything if in the long run it isn't healthy for him, but the doctor said that it was alright. My son does like the taste and drinks it the same as the other formula. I still breast feed as well but I am stopping that completely soon. I have recommended this to other moms to see if it saves them money.
...

We were recommended a more expensive formula when the baby was born, we just could not afford it! We tried the Target Brand Formula because the label said it was equivalent. The baby has been perfectly fine with it! He has never had a problem with digestion, allergies or spit up. He has never had colic. The baby was a premature baby and we were very worried about his eating habits and growth. He was only four pounds when he was born and he has grown very quickly! He now weighs over twenty pounds!

The label has since changed, it used to be a yellow label with a blue stripe and the Target symbol. In recent weeks the Target Brand Formula label has changed and now it is white with a blue arrow on it. Im not sure about the change in packaging, or why they did it, but the formula itself is still the same.

This formula is half the price of the name brands. You really can not afford to keep buying the expensive stuff.
...
