pearlofafrika says "Great work out, but not for the faint at heart" about Tae-Bo Gold

Do you remember back in the 90s when Tae Bo was wildly popular, and then not so much? Well, this Tae Bo DVD will remind you of why it was such a great exercise regimen. I confess to sitting and watching it for its entertainment value, but I've actually worked out to it, also.

This DVD is for the "goldies" (think: Golden Girls). It has a decidely slower pace, and is not as heart-thumbing as Billy Blanks' Boot Camp videos. It's a great place to start, no matter your age, especially if you haven't worked out before, and need an introduction to Tae Bo. This is a nice overview.

One of the biggest drawbacks is the poor sound quality. In some places, it's difficult to hear Billy Blanks over the sound of the music. Don't you hate that? I do. Loud oldies-but-goodies music isn't my idea of a good time, but it definitely gets you pumped.

If you're very agile and ready for tough Tae Bo action, pass on this tape. But if you're looking for a relatively slow primer, get this one definitely!

PattyTherre says "A solid gold workout for all ages! A great Tae-Bo primer." about Tae-Bo Gold

Quick View

Billy Blanks' Tae-Bo Gold, produced in 2000, is for the over 40 crowd but anyone who can't keep up with his other workouts or people who want a slightly less challenging workout will enjoy this. I think it's great for all ages.

Full View

When I was in my 30's, I needed something to kick start my exercise routine. I had stopped working out and was getting lazy. I was frustrated by ordinary Tae-Bo workouts because I couldn't keep up. I found Tae-Bo Gold, made for the over 40 crowd. Although I wasn't yet over 40, I felt over 70, so I bought it. It's excellent!

The Workout

This workout is typical kick boxing just slowed down a bit. Believe me, it's still very much a workout. It just isn't as frenzied as some of Billy Blanks' workouts. The exercisers are older - some look to be in their 70's which humbled me - and the music is older too, apparently to appeal to older people. I am not a huge fan of the older music (50's and 60's stuff I didn't know) but it doesn't take away from the...
...
