Love to use TDAmeritrade! I would rate it a 5 it was cheaper and if they made a tiny web-site revision that would allow you to hit refresh on your current page (it goes back to the original log-in page at that point no matter what material you were viewing).

I started using Sharebuilder and hated it. Switched to TDAmeritrade and it was like day and night.

I started trading with TDAmeritrade and it gives various research ideas and details on all stocks. Very useful but the broker commission is more than other brokerage firms.

I investigated many companies before I chose a place to save and invest, and I am glad I chose TD Ameritrade. I feel safe and secure, and although in this economy growth has slowed, it hasn't come to a halt, and I have not lost any money. I show growth every month--sometimes more than expected.

The website is a bit difficult to navigate, but with practice you can figure it out, and there is always support if you need it.

I joined up on march 23rd. I faxed all the documents they needed to transfer my assets from another brokerage. (electronic transfer n/a in my case, it had to be done by mail). So 9 DAYS LATER on March 31st they finally mailed my documents out. Now instead of using overnight delivery, they used the cheapest shipping method and it took another 9 DAYS for my documents to arrive at my old brokerage. This could have been done in 2-3 days, but so far it has taken 18. I'm still waiting to start trading!...

TD Ameritrade froze my account as soon as money was deposited in it. I sent a series of emails each met with the same reply...I had to call customer service. I waited on hold 45 minutes before I hung up. I am starting to think I've been swindled out of my money. Warning to all looking to invest online STAY AWAY FROM AMERITRADE!...

I love this site, friom setting up your account, funding and making your trades it is a very simple process. I have been with them for several years now an i have 1 complaint, they take more than 24 hours to transfer money to your account....

TD Ameritrade is not recommended.

TD Ameritrade does many things right but falls flat with poor stock trading execution under extreme conditions for limit trades - see our stock trading review for further details. Across the board, margin rates are the worst among all brokers. Also, some readers brought to my attention some very poor customer service experiences they had with the company. When a broker treats customers with such contempt, I have a hard time recommending their services to anyone.

Had a good experience with td ameritrade.
Able to trade in real time with low per trade fees.
you get a month of free trades when you sign up.
When I needed to withdraw money, funds were in my checking account in 3 days.
would recommend this brokerage for anyone...

I love TDAmeritrade as my broker. They have fantastic tools and prices are easy to understand and to use. The only criticism I have is that they do not have a very useful mobile platform, other than that I would recommend it to all investors and traders.

I held four accounts at TDAmertrade, which I had originally opened several years ago at TD Waterhouse before the merger with Ameritrade. Over the years, they have lost my cost basis information on several investments, sold my email address to spammers at least twice, and steadily increased their margin interest rates to be among the highest in the industry. Last month they moved assets between two of my account without my consent nor prior notification. Their compliance dept declined to fix the problem and also declined to explain just how and why it had occurred. Fortunately my local agent was able to help me resolve this mess, although it took several phone calls. He continues to insist that they did nothing wrong, and refuses to document the incident. Frankly I don't care any more. I'm moving my accounts to a different broker....

Gave Misleading advice on buying stock on margin
Used pressure tactics - constant phone calls trying to pressure me to trade more
Also gave incorrect information about how much (what %) certian stocks could be levereged
reccomended i buy More enough intel on margin - up to the point i was 75% on margin       -

which is absurd

I researched some of the other trading websites along with TD Ameritrade and found that TD was the best choice for me. They gave me more flexiblity to start investing in what I wanted right away. Many of the other sites have stipualtions and rules about get started....

I have been am Ameritrade now TDAmeritrade customer for about 10 years. I am very happy with the user friendly website, the ongoing education provided and the outstanding customer service.

I find the website very efficient. THere are numerous opportunities to research and learn about investing.

The customer service is outstanding! You can talk to a real person usually within minutes. They are always courteous and knowledgable.

Deposits and withdrawls are always handled in a very timely manner.

For the second time in 18 months TD Ameritrade's computers failed during a major market crisis. Each time customers were unable to log in and access their accounts. This time TD Ameritrade would not even take phone calls leaving their customers totally helpless to manage their accounts. I'm sure many investors lost thousands of dollars by not being able to sell falling issues or missed many great opportunities to buy oversold issues at bargain prices. In either case, it was a helpless feeling, akin to being a victim of crime. I plan to immediately seek out another online broker and transfer my accounts. I would suggest that anyone planning to open an account with this broker rethink that decision. Imagine how you would feel if you were helpless to manage your account during one of these days of major market volatility.

We have had accounts with this company since 1995. It has gone through many changes, but we have generally been highly satisfied with the service. Pricing is most favorable, too, except there are a few nuisance service charges, such as the $25 "reorganization" fee when a company is bought out and the stock is liquidated for cash. In theory, this should generate another brokerage commission, but TDAmeritrade apparently doesn't agree.

I have had a number of service problems over the years, but they have all been resolved thanks to access to a live person, rather than being forced into e-mail only communications.
