First some of the good. Bright picture, good quality, and decent sound quality. I love the HDMI inputs for DVD and plenty of extra inputs. The dislikes, if you own Satellite unless you have an HD dish, I only get 480 or 720 picture quality, the TV is capable of 1080i so DVDs look fantastic. My biggest complaint is that it makes the images stretch out making everyone look fat not sure if its also the odd screen size 37inches. I have tried every possible option to change this but no dice even called Olevia. I have heard this to be a big complaint with most TVs plasma or LCD because Direct TV and other satellites do not broadcast in HD unless you have the HD setup. Overall, at the time I bought it about 1 year ago it was a great deal at $800 but now I have minor buyers remorse, I think Sony and other name brands for and extra $200 or so now you can get a better TV and larger size. Olevia was a great deal at the time but since all the major brands have come down...
...

I bought this TV through Target.com. Overall, a very good value - 37 inch with good color. Really need HDTV cable to fully appreciate the picture. Menu is somewhat complicated- lots of settings to figure out. The sound is low on HD channels, must turn it up almost all the way to hear what characters are saying. When the set is off, a blue light stays on. It is very bright and annoying. Otherwise, good value....

I have owned this TV for about a month now and i am completely satisfied with this unit.. The picture quality is great, especially when turned on to the HD channels. I like the fact that they give you an HDMI cable with the unit..Some other TV's you have to buy them seperately, which can cost around $30.00.. I have my cable box hooked up with the HDMI cable and also my DVD player i definately recommend this TV if you are looking for a great TV with a great pricetag....

Just bought my 537H HD television and was real dissappointed to find out I was getting the shaft from DirectTV and I could get an HDMI signal unless I paid them ANOTHER mint for new equipment. Olevia to the rescue! This unit really does an excellent job with the coax and the Component video (from the DVD player) signal. Price...let me rave about pricing. Sure you can drop $1.5k on some Sony or top name and get a little better contrast ratio; but for crying out loud - I busted a single large and came home with enough change to pay for the HDMI cable (for later). Iv read other reviews and heard moaning about the "blue light" wehn the unit is powered off...pleeeeeeeeeaaaase - my watch is brighter. The source button requires cycling around and if you overshoot you have to go all the way around....wahhhhhhhhhh..boohoo.

OK - if you have a $7k audio system and $12k invested in a theatre room then go buy the top model and quit reading reviews. If you are a real person and have a few dollars...
...

Saw this HDTV at Target on sale and bought it. I was surprised on how clear the picture it was. Futhur more when my wife put it on auto select to find channels could believe on how many HD channels it came out with. To me it was well worth the money plus more. To me it is better than have cable to an extent....

I hit the day after Thanksgiving sales this year and purchased the Olevia 37" HDTV. So far, I'm pretty impressed! The picture quality is crisp, the colors are vivid, and the sound quality is pretty good. I've heard some complaints about Olevia's sound quality, but compared to the TV it just replaced, it sounds great! The only complaints that I have about it is that the settings are kind of difficult to figure out. I still haven't figured out how to use my universal cable remote or how to watch the pic-in-pic. The instructions for this TV is on DVD, so I'm sure that whenever I actually watch the DVD I'll be able to work out the kinks. This TV is such a bargain comparatively that I think that anyone in the market for a flatscreen HDTV should definitely look at the Olevia as an option....

I have been intrigued by the big TVs. I liked them, but I didn't like the price of them. This one fills my desire very nicely. It does everlything I need it to do. It is remarkably low priced also. I dont have to look at a small picture with big black bars above and below it anymore. It isgreat!!...

At $549.00 this TV deal was just too good to pass up. We purchased this TV on Black Friday. The regular price was $799.99, so $250 in savings was really sweet. Picture quality was great right out of the box with very few setting changes. I did alot of research online and read many reviews on this TV before purchasing. All reviews that I read gave the TV at least 4 out of 5 stars. We think this TV rocks!!!! Compared to spending $1,000 plus on a Sony, Sharp or Samsung.........we'll take the Olevia....

The first time I turned on this TV, it didn't come immediately on and I turned it off, thinking there was a problem. Finally, I realized I didn't a few extra seconds of patience for the TV picture to appear. Now that I've calmed down, I LOVE the picture on this TV - - - and watching the HD shows on cable. AMAZING picture!

The only strange thing with this TV is a couple times a week for a few intermittent minutes, I get a crackling sound from the speakers. And it's only on a couple of the high def cable channels, so I'm not positive if the problem is the TV or the cable provider.

This TV was highly rated by a major consumer group and labeled a "best buy". I paid only $650 and had free shipping to my home.

Highly recommend this product.
...

When our old TV finally died this year we started shopping around for a new when we came across this Olevia 37" and I am so glad that we did. It has an excellent value for it's price, I purchased mine for 699.00 but have saw them on sale for as low as $549.00 you just have to shop around. The picture and sound is outstanding, I really can't see why anyone would want to purchase a more expensive version when this one has it all. The exceptional video, audio, and price, should impress almost everyone. Some people mentioned the source delay as a con but to me that's not really that big a deal. I can easily wait two or three extra seconds. But I would rather the manual came in a book instead of the CD.
...

Bad things are hard to say about this television. First off the Picture is amazing, the sound is phenominal. Can't beat this TV for the price. the only real gripe I have on it is the delay, it seems everytime i enter a menu or change the source, even when raising or lowering the volume, there is a massive amount of delay. When I turn the TV on it takes around a full 3-4 seconds just to switch on and tell what source it's on. Other than the delay it's an excelent TV for the money....

I purchased an Olevia 37" LCD TV which was on sale at my local K-Mart Store. I wasn't sure how good it would be as it only had a 1500 to 1 contrast ratio. After setting it up & going through the various functions, I got it set to the picture quality that was to my liking. I must say this TV has an excellent picture in Standard Definition & when viewing a television program or DVD movie in the High Definition mode, the picture is absolutely amazing and comes as close to viewing in 3D as you can get. I have had this 37" LCD TV for about 3 months now & I am very satisfied with my purchase of it & would recommend it for anyone interested in purchasing a 37"LCD TV. ...

The 537H has a reasonable picture out of the box, and a superior picture after tweaking its settings with the help of an Avia DVD. The "plain black wrapper" approach serves to highlight the superior picture; one that is far better than the two CRT-based HD monitors in my home (one direct-view, one projection). Though I use a receiver for audio, a quick check of the set's sound reveals that it's passable. Packaging is comparable to that of a high-end DLP set that I purchased and returned due to unacceptable picture quality.

The menu system is confusing at first, but is easier to operate with practice. The "hidden" power switch on the back of set should be referenced in the quick-start diagram and manual. The manual should be printed, rather than supplied on a CD. The blue "standby" light is very bright (soon to be covered with electrical tape).
...
