Reese Witherspoon, Patrick Dempsey and Josh Lucas play in Sweet Home Alabama.

Plot: Southern belle Melanie has made a sweet life for herself in New York as a clothes designer. She's asked to be married by her charming boyfriend but there's only one hitch; she's already hitched to her high school sweetheart back home. Now Melanie has to go down south to try to get her stubborn husband to divorce her so she can get married and have the life she's always dreamed of and worked so hard for.

What I thought: Sweet Home Alabama is cute, funny and very charming. Both of Witherspoons beaus are hotties; one is a city boy, very refined and charming; the other a country boy, a little rough around the edges and simple. Of course I pick the country boy. Witherspoon is very cute in this movie and I love the accent. I like the country life so of course I like when they go back to her home town and meet all of her friends and family which is a riot. I can watch Sweet Home Alabama over and over......

I enjoyed this movie. I am a big Chick Flick Girl, This movie is one of my favorites. It also has some nice eye candy in it too. I would suggest this for anyone who wants to cuddle up and fallin in love....

I just absolutely loved this moovie. It made me laugh and cry. If you like a good love story, you will love this southern gem. My favorite line is --just why would you want to marry me? so i can kiss you anytime I want to. I would love to see a sequal to this moovie. I have watched it over and over many times and plan to watch it many more

This movie is one of the ones that I own that my husband will set down and watch it with me. He enjoys the fact that it mostly takes place in the deep south. It has some history in it to keep the men folk happy...lol! But all joking aside It is a very good comedy that well make any man or woman have a fun time watching and not feel like it was a total waste of his or her time. Reese is very good in this movie and so is the man that plays her husband (hes cute to...lol) Take my word for it you will enjoy it very much....

Sweet Home Alabama has a great cast and gets at issues that everyday people struggle with... nasty in-laws, reconnecting with your roots, getting caught up in your own life, etc.

The Cast.
Reese Witherspoon. Enough said. She is adorable. And, who doesn't love Patrick Dempsey? He is among my favorite male stars to look at. And Josh Lucas isnt too bad either. He is a down home nice guy. Candice Bergen is always the perfect nasty mother-in-law.

Underprivileged girl makes it big
Melanie Carmichael, a girl from the trailers in Alabama, has made it big. She is an adored New York fashion designer and is engaged to the city's most eligible bachelor (Patrick Demsey). Of course, his mother, Candice Bergen is not a fan of Melanie and believes she has demons in her closet.

And, what a surprise, she does!
Melanie's past holds many secrets, including Jake, the redneck husband she married in high school. Who, by the way, refuses to divorce her. And, did I happen to mention that Patrick Dempsey doesnt...
