Immediately when the seat arrive at my house (as it was ordered over the Internet), I could tell at once how sturdy it is. It has heavy alloy steel construction for the support frame, meaning it weighs 20.5 lbs. empty. This seat requires no base, and buckles into the car. It has a standard harness that goes over the shoulders and between the legs - very easy to snap her in quickly and keeps her very secure. The straps are also completely adjustable to acommodate babies from 5lbs.-80lbs. Adjusting is a breeze. Since this seat is usable for babies of all ages, it can be used rear- or front-facing, depending on what's appropriate for your child's age. I love that special attention was paid to side-impact protection in the design of this seat.

The padding and fabric are very soft and cushioning. This seat looks and feels so comfortable, that I wish I had a seat like this! My baby who was becoming uncontrollably fussy in her old seat now relaxes and enjoys her ride. I can tell she's extremely...
...

The Sunshine kids radian 80 is a great convertible seat. It's compact yet sturdy. I like how the seat cover is light and my son's back isn't always sweaty in the summer time. The only problem I have with the carseat is that the seat cover can not be removed to be washed.
...

Sunshine kids radian 80 car seat is not approprent for infents , why you ask. well it sits to much up rite for a any infent. An while the Sunshine kids radian 80 car seat is a car seat that your child could use from birth till they are booster seat ready witch would save money . Remember that your infent does not have control over there necks fully til they are at least 6-8 months of age. This Sunshine kids radian 80 car seat could cause futcher problems that my not be seen for up to 15 years later an if they need medical treatment because of this later on well it realy is not saveing money its a total waste of money for whom is paing for that treatment weather its the parent of the child or the child him self or an incurance company. I am a fun loving mother of two wonderful boys an i would never wont one of my children to have health problems from me picking out a car seat that could do such a thing. While the Sunshine kids radian 80 car seat is also...
...

I purchased this the Sunshine Kids Radian80 after doing a lot of comparison shopping and reading Consumer Reports. This car seat got a very high rating. One of the things I love about this seat are the low sides, which allow me to put my toddler into the seat without twisting and straining, unlike my other car seat. The Radian80 is also very easy to install. The latch clips are more like car seat buckles that safety hooks- you just push them onto the latch and you are done. Removal is a breeze too- simply push the red release button and pull!

The Radian80 is a bit on the pricey side, but the safety of my child is well worth the money. The car seat is very sturdy, folds easily for travel (I've used it on an airplane), and the padding comes off easily for cleaning. The fabric they use for the padding/cover is a very soft, velvety fabric that cleans right up in the washing machine (air dry though). My only wish was that it had a cup holder, so I bought a different brand that had a cup holder....
...

Katie calls the Sunshine Kids Radian 80 her Pink Princess Throne. She says it is so comfortable, and doesn't feel the bumps anymore. I wish we would have had this seat two years ago, and skipped the inbetween seat.

Especially good if you need to put more than one seat in the car/SUV. Or if you have adults sitting in the backseat. It has a very low profile. Well worth the extra money.

I am a mom to triplet boys. In order to not have to buy a minivan or an SUV, I needed to find car seats that woudl fit three in the back of our standard szie car.

The Radian 80 is the one we choose after doing tons of research on safety, quality, relaiblity, and cost comparison.

It keeps my children in a 5 point harness until 80 pounds. No other car seat on the market does that. And it folds up to store easily in my trunk when needed. I love that it top tethers both rear and forward facing!

Many paretns buy three car seats -- one for rear facing that hold up to 30 pounds, one for front facing that goes up to 50 pounds, and then a booster seat. With the Raidan 80, it is the only car seat you need!

So while it might seems like the more expensive choice at first, in the long run it is the cheapest option.

Morevoer, it is the #1 rated car seat for safety on the market ... and that is worth more than any monetary amount!

I shopped around a LOT before I bought my Radian 80. I've used 3 different brand carseats before finding the Radian 80 and by far this is the easiest to use, the most compact, and the safest. Yes, it's more expensive as well but the ability to use it to 80 lbs with the 5 point harness is priceless and it is one of the least expensive seats that has this feature. I have children with special needs including low tone and this seat was purchased for that purpose. As my other children reach the weight limits of their current carseats I will not hesitate in purchasing 4 more of this same seat for my other children.

My concern with this seat initially was that it was going to expire before my children would even reach the weight limit and therefore would not be worth the purchase. I found that this carseat has a longer expiration because construction is not all plastic!

Some of my favorite features are the slim width and the low sides. This makes it easier to fit multiple car seats...
...

We purchased 2 Sunshine Kids Radian 80s when we found that we needed to fit 3 car seats accross the backseat of our Acura MDX. I was uncomfortable leaving one child out of reach in the 3rd row. I did some research on my own, but these seats were also recommended by our local Safe Kids car seat installation experts.

These seats allow us to safely and securely carry 3 children in the backseat. We could have used a 3rd Radian in the middle, but found that our Britax fit fine between the two Radians.

My daughters, ages 4 and 6, like that the seats are slim and look somewhat like a booster to them. They have plenty of leg room since the seats sit lower in the car and back farther. The straps are very easy to buckle and unbuckle and the chest clip is sturdy. They tighten and loosen right in the front, similar to our Britax seats. The covers remove easily for washing. Just remember how you took them off- or putting them back on is tricky!

I do have some small complaints. The...
...

The Radian 80 by Sunshine Kids in hands down the best convertible carseat I have ever used. It is very solid and safe, even having asteel inner frame, which makes it safer than any on the market. That does lead to its one negative. It is HEAVY. It is so narrow, though, that we have no problem fitting this car seat, a high back booster and a backless booster in the backseat of ou Yaris. This carseat allowed us to get a more gas-efficient car and still have enough room to fit our three kids. And, my 13 month old son loves his carseat. It looks so plush and comfortable that I sometimes wish I had one....

This is the only seat that would accomidate my very tall, 43lb 38 month old littel football player
and **FIT THE 2008 ACCORD*** I tired the Britax Frontier and the Regent, neither of the Britax would fit securley in the car and I am very experienced at car seat installation and very very anal when it comes to correct installation. After all it is my sons life at stake.

This seat sunggles right down nice and tight and secure like it was made just for my car. The only two things I do not like about the carseat is the seat part is very narrow which will not allow my son to sit in it as long as I would like and strap on the bottom of the seat (crouch) does not adjust very far for a seat that can be used up to 80 lbs. Other than these to things, the seat is WONDERFUL
...

We just purchased this car seat because our son had grown out of the prior seat. I did a lot of research and this seat offerred some of the best safety features for the money. My son loves it and he can no longer open the chest restrain on the 5-point harness like he could with the last seat. This seat will also allow my son to remain in the 5-point harness longer, which is a wonderful safety feature.

We have already had to remove the seat cover and wash it. It was a very simple process and easy to replace on the frame. The only slightly negative thing is the weight of the car seat is very heavy, but since we don't plan on moving it around much it's not a problem. I also don't mind the weight because I know it is due to the steel frame construction, which will help keep my son safe.
...

I was a little uneasy about spending the money on this carseat because I had to order it and was unable to see it up close before purchasing. I decided to bite the bullet and hope for the best. This seat is fabulous. My son is 3 1/2 and is at the top of the scales for height and weight. I didn't like how the traditional booster seat "fit" him - he was able to move around way too much and kept taking his arm out of the shoulder belt. With the harness, he is much more secure. The side pillows are a nice bonus if you have a kid who falls asleep in the car. I wish I has known about these seats when my son was born - I could have bought just one seat from birth to 80 pounds. I would recommend this to anyone who is expecting or has a infant that has outgrown the infant carrier.
...
