Sunbeam Electric Blankets are so warm and snuggly. The queen size blankets are bigger and provide more warmth on these cold winter nights. You can put them on warm, medium, or high for your own comfort, you can sleep with them on all night and wake up in the morning feeling warm and comfortable.
...

cleoclown says "Give me a blanket WITHOUT a brain!" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

I have owned two of these blankets and mostly just wish to go back to the days BEFORE blankets claimed to have brains! If I turn my blanket control to HIGH, I would like it to get HOT. Instead, it uses its "brain" to decide exactly how warm it should be, seemingly based on my body temp. I want to decide how warm it should be as I am perfectly capable of turning it down if it is too hot. I can set this blanket on HIGH an hour before going to bed and, although I do wake up toasty (sometimes too warm, in fact), when I go to bed I can hardly tell I am under an electric blanket at all until I have been there for a few minutes. Note that I have two quilts and a down comforter on top of this blanket. All these covers do keep me warm, but that should be the job of the electric blanket!

I began this review stating that I had owned two of these blankets. I bought the second thinking maybe the first just didn't work right but, alas, the second worked the same way.

Overall, I am not...
...

I bought 4 of these blankets for our beds. I have bought cheaper ones in the past and they did not work well or quit working after a few uses. Sunbeam is more money, but worth every penny. We have had ours for 3 years now and I am very impressed how well they hold up. I bought these when we lived in Chicago and it helped with the utility bills during the coldest time of the year.
...

stef42678 says "Comfy and Cozy Blanket" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

I have always been a summer girl and really hate winters, mainly because I hate being cold. At night I constantly wear layers and have several blankets on my bed. I found a great solution for keeping cozy and comfortable at night with this Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size. It fits snuggly on my bed, and I bought this blanket in white so it matches everything. It seems to repel dust, so it doesn't wear and tear over time. I bought this for about $55 and it is the perfect way for keeping warm in the winters. It has a really long cord that connects to both sides of the blanket, but the temperature is easy to control. By a flip of the switch, you can switch it on or off and it has a comfort level on the dial, so you can be a moderate temperature at 5 or less, or if you want to get really warm you can dial in 6-10. I typically turn it on about thirty minutes before I go to bed, so that my bed is warm when it is time to go to sleep. I never overheat, and the dial is easy...
...

JKD says "Best Christmas present ever" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

Hands down, one of the best Christmas gifts I ever received. It's the Sunbeam electric blanket, queen size, dual controls. I've had it for at least several years now. It's held up well, the only exception being that after a couple of washes, one of the controllers is now touchy. My husband gave it to me as an early present one year with I was huddled under the covers with the flu. It could not have come at a better time. I've used it every year since, flu or not, sick or well. It's just that cozy.

This blanket is an absolute must for couples who are constantly at different body temperatures. There's much less complaining and bickering when each person controls the temperatures on his/her side of the bed. The dual controls also have different color covers that are easy to swap out. It makes for easier room cordination. I believe the colors that mine came with were a dark gray and a beige/off white color.

muwhobbit says "Great the 1st year but not a lasting product" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

I bought this blanket in fall 2008, and it worked great through March of this year, when I packed it up for storage. When I brought it out this year, however, the heating elements on one side failed within a few days of our using the blanket. Sunbeam says it's not within warranty, so they don't cover it. It was a nice blanket last year, but I would recommend spending a little more to get a product that will last longer - we're going to have to buy a new one now, and if I'd paid more for a quality blanket I'd have saved in the long run.

I'm also really not keen on the fabric it's made of. It is 100% acrylic, and it pills terribly. Not only that, the fabric took on the color of our burgundy sheets in patches, which makes it always look dirty even when freshly laundered. It's not really soft, although unlike some other blankets I've tested it isn't scratchy - it just feels fake. I never sleep with it against my skin, though, so that doesn't bother me too much.
...

GarfieldCollector says "these blankets have a tendency to stop warming after a few years" about Sunbeam Electric Blanket - queen size

I have bought a few of these phones over the past several years, and all but one has failed after use. They will usually get thru 1-2 years before gradually decreasing in warmth, then may give out entirely. I have bought the twin, queen and full sizes for various rooms and the twin is the one that is still going.

Amazing that the lowest cost one is the blanket that is still working, while the pricier queen & full sizes have both ceased working. Sunbeam has not been very cooperative on the replacements, and the stores will not take back something that has been used for that length of time. Just buyer beware that they can work well when new but have been known to give out over time...
...

I moved to Colorado from Texas so adjusting to the colder weather has been a pleasant adjustment. My first winter here, I purchased a Sunbeam Electric Mattress Pad which works great; however, I was warm on the underside but not on the top! About two months ago, I was lucky enough to find a Sunbeam Electric Blanket on sale and snatched it up quickly. We experienced our first dip in temperature just last night and I have to say, I was super toasty wedged between my two Sunbeam warmers! I like to turn the pad and blanket on high about an hour before I go to bed so everything is nice and toasty when I am ready to retire. Once I get between the covers I turn the blanket off. Being able to set the timer for it to shut off automatically will be greatly beneficial for those nights I am super tired. Even if you forget to set the timer, the blanket is equipped with an automatic shut off. I could not be happier with my purchase! I've seen reviews that said after washing they don't work...
...

I love my sunbeam electric blanket. when it gets cold where i live or if i go somewhere that it is cold. i just plug my blanket in and stay warm. it's the best thing i have ever spent money on. i have heard stories about sunbeam blanket caughting on fire and shorting out, but i have never had a problem with my sunbeam electric blanket, besides my dog chewing on the chord but he has stop chewing on it. but caughting on fire or shorting out never happen to me and i have own two or three of the blankets and i have never had a problem. if i knew someone else like me that gets cold easily i would differently buy one for them as a gift. i love mine so much i can not live without my sunbeam electric blanket. it comes in handy since i get cold very very quickly and easily. i can change the temperature on it if i start to get real warm or turn the temperature up if i am not warm enough. i would have to say it is the best investion someone has ever made for people who get and stay cold quickly...
...
