This is "old faithful" - a good, reliable, inexpensive coffee maker that makes good coffee! We have a bed-and-breakfast and we have gone thru a LOT of coffee makers, and we have several Sunbeams. I like the "pause" that enables you to remove the carafe while it's brewing, and we've not had a problem with it. No bells and whistles, but that's fine- it does what it's supposed to do: brew coffee. We descale it periodically, running vinegar-water thru it several times followed by several pots of regular water.

I have no problems with the coffee maker, it makes pretty good coffee...

I was very disappointed in these coffee makers by Sunbeam. They are very slow at making your coffee, the pause drip doesn't work sometimes so it drips on the hotplate, and the coffee pot itself leaks whenever you start to pour, it drips down the side and to the bottom making a mess everywhere. I was not impressed and I hope they will make improvements on future coffee pot makers....
